I've waited almost a year just to get placed at a site for my externship and had to get moved three times and finally finished mid January 2026. My experience with the school itself was terrible, the communication is terrible staff is terrible, except Janet. They literally will talk about other applicants that came to enroll after they leave and ive seen it firsthand!! I needed a simple answer to a question that took two minutes and was calling the school all morning no one was answering so i had to drive all the way to the school and as i was walking in the school i was calling and the phone was ringing and jasmine was at her desk talking and laughing with another staff member ignoring the phone when the question i had literally took two minutes. They never have a permanent coordinator for your externship they're money hungry. As long as you pay / make your payments on time they can care less because for no reason getting a externship site assigned to me should've took nine months after they told me at enrollment i should be done in may 2025!!!! I am not the only person that this has happened to either I've met pervious students who have been waiting longer! I don't recommend this school at all , they're just lazy and money hungry, and the bathroom has a permanent stench.

And the price is so incredibly low that it's hard to believe, ESPECIALLY when compared with all the hotel spa services and private massage salons in the Coachella Valley. But, today was the all-time best. My therapist, Ashlyn, was simply incredible. A real natural with a great "feel" for her craft. I have received hundreds of massages over the years, but this was one of the very best of all of them. When I checked out to pay, I was met by Heather, who was was extremely professional, personable, and efficient, and booked me next week for my next massage with Ashlyn. I've had my hair cut, colored, high lighted, manicures, pedicures, full sets and skin care appointments, and the students have consistently done a wonderful job. My services have always been enjoyable, which is why it's disappointing to write this review. My concern isn't with the students it's with how the advertised senior discount is now being applied. The Milan Institute advertises a 20% Senior/Military Discount on hair, nail, and skincare services. For all of my previous visits, the discount was applied in a way that matched my understanding of the advertisement. However, during my last appointment, I was told the discount only applies to one service on my ticket instead of all eligible services received during the same visit. As a senior on a fixed income, that made a significant difference. My appointments that were typically around $110 increased to more than $160 because of how the discount was calculated. Palm Desert and surrounding areas have a large senior population, and many retirees choose Milan Institute because they believe they're receiving a meaningful senior discount. If the discount is intended to apply only to the highest-priced service on your ticket or only one service per visit, I believe that limitation should be clearly disclosed in the website advertisement so customers know exactly what to expect before booking multiple services. I'm giving two stars because the students continue to provide excellent work, but I want other seniors to be aware that the advertised discount may not be be applied the way they might reasonably expect. I truly hope Milan Institute clarifies its senior discount policy so customers can make informed decisions.

The school approved a 90-day leave agreement. However, around day 82, before the agreed period ended, the school contacted me and informed me that my program was being shut down. They also stated that I would not receive my certificates and that I would still be responsible for outstanding fees and payments, despite the program being discontinued before I could complete it. I would not recommend this school. As a nonprofit organization, they often experience delays in receiving materials, sometimes taking two to three months. The staff's communication with students is unprofessional, and they do not provide meaningful assistance with job placement after completion. However, if someone is simply looking for a way to pass time, this school may be an option. Mr.Bridges
