I've been seeing Dr Loftus at Accu Dental for a few years now, both for regular dental work and for Invisalign treatment. I've found the staff to be very competent, easy going and easy to work with and Dr Loftus is friendly, accessible, and knowledgeable. I especially enjoy coming here because I feel that the treatment I receive is good but without the fluff, upselling, pressure and fear mongering other dentists seem to engage in to boost sales under the guise of treatment. Pricing is fair and there are never any surprises. I hate the dentist but don't mind coming here... it's almost even enjoyable - something I've never been able to say in the various places I've visited in the past! We received reminders about the appointment and appreciated the clear communication. The dental assistant who helped us was very patient with my elderly father who needed help transferring from a wheelchair to the chair. The dental assistant explained everything and was very kind. After Dr. Loftus examined my dad's teeth, she clearly communicated the types of treatments my father needed and the next steps that were needed. I've being coming to Accu Dental since the beginning of the year. Dr Loftus and her staff are fantastic, professional, courteous, friendly and very helpful. I appreciate that Dr Loftus explains what she's going to do while I'm in the chair. Provides me with a way to signal her if I need her to stop for any reason. Talks through what she is doing during the process. I feel like she really cares about my comfort during all the work I've needed lately. Her office runs really well, I've never had to wait long to be taken to a chair and she usually arrives within a few minutes to greet me. If I could give zero stars I would! Started out ok but went downhill fast. I had X-rays then was told the doctor would come see me. She immediately said I needed a deep cleaning which may be true however I just wanted a regular cleaning to start especially since it was my first time there. She tried to refuse but I pushed it and then she, the actual dentist ( not a single hygienist to be found) the dentist proceeded to to give me an 8 minute ridiculously horrible cleaning and then almost pushed me out the door. I suggest that anyone thinking of going there should think again and stay far away. Worst experience ever!!!!! read more

So...* When I called the office, I was promptly offered a slot within a week. I arrived 10 minutes early to complete the paperwork on the appointment day. I waited less than 5 minutes before being taken to the back for X-rays. Dr. Elizabeth Loftus examined my teeth and then cleaned my teeth. She's super nice and gentle. She's got great bedside manners and doesn't bang dental tools in your mouth and make you grimace in pain. After she polished my teeth, I now look like a real person again and not despised by society. Contrary to that one-star review, I found the front desk people to be: efficient, friendly, and personable. They laughed at my silly jokes, so I liked them. First, they have no Hygienist. Only have one Dr for everything. Not good. Here's why...they are always running behind, at least 30 minutes. Then they rush your cleaning to get caught up! My cleaning took 15 minutes! What a joke! Never have I been so rushed and unhappy with any office. A good cleaning takes about 40-45 minutes. The DR's is always defensive oppose to listening to your concerns and trying to address them. Other offices will give you a toothbrush, paste, floss and sometimes mouthwash. This office, nothing but excuses! I never felt comfortable the two times I've gone. Thought I would give a second chance, but I'm done. No thanks. Don't recommend at all ! read more

Ok, so best place I have ever been! I have been to plenty of dentists!! First I came in for a super emergency my face had swollen up and the left dude of my lip was numb. I was freaking out. I didn't know what to do since I was already taking antibiotics. I went to Dr. Loftus she was so kind she told me she would get this infection under control with a combination of meds and age and assured me I would feel better. She took her time talking to me making sure I was relaxed and comfortable. She explained why my lip was going numb due to the infection putting pressure on a nerve. Her staff were also so sweet and helpful they do a lot to help you feel comfortable. Well, I started the meds and sure enough, the swelling went down. Then she scheduled me to come back to have that infection removed. She was incredibly gentle I didn't feel the shot and omg I was numb almost the way to my ear!! It was amazing. I didn't have to keep getting shots she is so efficient at getting you numb it was amazing. She took out two broken infected teeth. And helped me feel so much better. These teeth were broken down crumbs I am so pleased she was able to get them out. I feel so much better. I wish I could stand out front with a sign!! She is the best of the best!! Please do yourself a favor stop waiting and make an appointment she won't make you feel bad, in fact she will empower you and give you props just cut coming in. My husband and I switched to this dentist a few months ago and really like her. Our cleanings went well. Then last week I had a problem with an old filling from childhood. The dentist was able to clean the tooth up and make a new filling painlessly. I like that she doesn't rush and makes sure the shot had enough time to numb me. read more

Accu Dental is trash. Their reception is incompetent. I called on Wednesday to set up an appointment for Friday. The receptionist seems poorly trained. She asked me for my insurance information, which I provided. She then stated that she would verify my insurance and call me back if there were any issues. I never received another call, but when I go in on Friday, she says that she was unable to verify my insurance after she has me fill out the paperwork. It's frustrating because they waste a lot of time and don't communicate well. I was referred to this dentist by my insurance. Avoid Accu Dental at all costs. They are unprofessional. The dentist office seems like it's really dirty, and they just painted over mold. The hygeiene practice of the assistants is also highly questionable. It doesn't seem like they are diligent about sanitation and single use things that go in your mouth. The dentist was cold and short. She did not give a lot of information and it was really a horrible experience. I will never go back to this office except to tell them to do better because the public deserves better. read more

I visited the dentist in December. I'm writing this almost 5 months later because not a day has gone by that I didn't regret going. Granted, I hadn't been to the dentist in years, but at least when I went in - my teeth weren't bothering me at all. I just wanted a checkup. NOW they bother me. I kinda felt it was bogus when he said I had an insane number of cavities (which after reading the reviews of other Medi-Cal accepting offices seems to be a common theme), but I gave the benefit of the doubt and went in to have a few cavities filled. Long story short, whatever it was that he did caused my teeth to feel like something is constantly stuck between them (which let me tell you, is maddening!) I'm constantly sucking my teeth and my tongue is raw from running it against whatever he put in there. Proceed with caution, run if you pushed toward getting a ton of fillings.
