They go pretty quickly and I've never waited too long, even if there are a bunch of folks there. The techs are always nice and in good spirits. They will make some solid conversation to keep you engaged and distracted. They're attentive, know what they're doing, and make things nice and painless. I had an appointment there at 4:00 on Tuesday 3/3. As I was almost at the consent portion at the end of the questionnaire, an error symbol popped up. I stood up to let somebody know & a guy with dark hair & a low bun came over and said"what did you do?!" Not very nice to put it mildly. I told him I didn't touch anything to which he remarked "uh okay" again nasty. Then he goes to the other nasty older lady with blondish hair, says something & she says "what, did she screw it up"? Not even 10 feet from me! He comes back & says "well now I have to wait for someone with the authority to reset this bc I can't do it, I don't know what you did" I tell him again, I didn't do anything to which he says " well now you have to wait". I couldn't believe this guy. So I wait for about 25 mins, not great but whatever, as he and the blondish lady are literally talking about me! Looking at me, looking at each other m, looking at me, rolling their eyes. Even making eye contact w/ me & holding it! Unreal. So the man they were waiting for Paul apparently returns, the guy with the bun comes over, resets the computer for me and says nasty again " if you have another issue, ask someone, don't touch anything"! With dramatic arm gestures like I'm a child. I start the questionnaire over again annoyed as he returns to the lady & starts talking about me again! At this point I've had it. I literally stood up, started putting on my coat when the lady comes over & says "is everything ok"? I said "no, I'm done here, I'm going to go to the Melville location. She says "the computer is the same there" I say"it's not the computer, you people are awful" I'm not someone who complains or causes drama whatsoever but at this point, I was so angry at the unprofessional demeanor of these people. I live in Massapequa where this location is & it was so bad I drove all the way to Melville at the peak of rush hour in the rain, that's how bad it was. The staff in Melville were great.chris behind the desk, Jennifer, and the other lady with the strawberry blond hair I didn't get the name of. Thank you so much for making my experience with you guys professional & extremely pleasant, you were so great. I honestly feel these other 2 in massapequa should not be dealing with people. They should be put at a desk behind the scenes & do data entry. I'm sorry this is so long but I had to get this out, I've haven't been able to get it out of my head.

It seems that The Red Cross comes to everyone's mind after natural and man-made disasters befall our neighbors our friends and our nation. The recent and still occurring Hurricane Harvey has displaced Millions upon millions of residents in Texas and the South. Our nation's fourth most populous city, Houston inundated by relentless rain and flooding. The surrounding areas and neighboring States are next as this slow moving Hurricane releases Historic amounts rain and water. As I write this report, this monstrous disaster continues to still lumber across the South toward Louisiana and Florida. I could not believe the extent of the horrific heartbreaking damage and loss of property, until I viewed photos and videos of the heart-wrenching loss and witnessed The Bravery and the courage of so many who flew like angels to rescue so many millions. The American Red Cross is here to help all people who need them regardless of any condition. The wonderful volunteers provide them with a bed a hot meal a blanket Necessities to return to normal life. My Dear Yelp friends, You need not feel helpless. You can do something! All of us Americans and all of my generous wonderful friends the world over.. ALL of us@ We just have to .. we have to bind ourselves together and help these poor folks! it could have be us again ...as it was before. The Red Cross was at the scene about 5 minutes after the fire trucks and what an incredible job they did. As one of the temporarily displaced (I hope to be back in there in a few days once power is on) I have seen first hand just what these folks can do. We were all found rooms to spend the night, emergency provisions and of course, coffee and donuts. These incredible people are all volunteers - from the people who sat with the elderly victims to the people making coffee - all were incredibly wonderful. I urge anyone who reads this to make those donations - I always had in the past and now I can see just how worthy this organization is and how well spent the donations are.

You can also buy certain supplies such as first aid kits and cpr kits here. You sign up for the classes online and you can pay by credit card. There are at least classes once a week. Parking is scarce so come early. Park by the Van Wyck highway, there are no meters there. If you don't, you are going to have to pay for parking. The classes "fly" by quickly.
