I had a very thorough eye exam. I was not rushed through like some other opticians I have been too. Picked out some nice frames and new contacts. Paid for everything and had to just wait for the glasses to come in. I was told that would be 1-2 weeks. This is were things turn negative 36 days later I still have not received my glasses. Most of the time my phone calls are not returned. The office manager is "not there" or "on the other line" then does not return call. Told they would absolutely be in on one day, four days later... You guessed it, no glasses! Great eye exam does not really matter if you can't get the eyewear to see properly with. read more

The Dr. was friendly and courteous. Accurate Optical was unable to meet the expectations that they set for the delivery of Costa Del Mar prescription sunglasses. They have over promised and under delivered. Communication on the status of my purchase was poor, I have contacted them once a week for 4 weeks (and counting) and was put off, told it was out of their hands. When asking to speak with Management, the associate informed me that the Manager was not available, took my contact info and promised I would receive a call back. No call back received. I have visited the store 3 times to retrieve updates in person and each time was met by a mostly rude staff (all of which appeared to be terminally overwhelmed). The expectation was this: Prescription sunglasses will be made by the manufacturer and then sent from the manufacturers lab to the Accurate Optical lab in Salisbury MD, and finally couriered to my local location. The process will take approximately 2 weeks. I am currently still waiting for an update and ultimately the delivery of prescription sunglasses (which I need for both safety and comfort) - entering week 7. Update- received my prescription sunglasses at approximately week 9. My new eyewear is perfect and I am totally satisfied with the product. During my visit to the location I interacted with the Manager and I received service promptly and respectfully. If negative stars were an option that's what they would deserve. This place is a total joke. Do not EVER go there. My husband and I went in on December 13th and he ordered a pair of glasses. Of course they billed his insurance immediately for the glasses and as of today February 8th they are STILL not in, even after a promised delivery date of December 28th. I called the office almost every week and got the same response every single time... "We are having a shipment come in this week they should be in this shipment". One time I got a woman who was nasty and said "Well if you have a problem with waiting you can get your glasses somewhere else" my response was "okay I'll need a copy of his prescription and you to release the funds from his insurance so he his insurance can cover the pair from another office" her response was "yeah well that can take about 5 business days so you need to just be patient". I finally got sick of waiting and went into the office today. The office manager is who I dealt with and I was told the reason his glasses haven't come in is the manufacturer of his lenses have backordered the type of lenses covered by his insurance and there was no estimated time of a release so they could get him a different type of lenses. So when I questioned why that wasn't disclosed to me the first 8 times I called she simply stated she didn't know and she had done all she could do. Do not go here!!! read more

Well....now being told "we're on the list" and we should hear from the lab at 2 PM today....halfway through week 6???!!!!

Avoid this place like the plague! A couple of years ago I went to get glasses from them and was told it would take 3 weeks. No problem. Five weeks later...no glasses. Six weeks later they called and said my glasses were ready Went in to get them....and couldn't see a thing through them! Turns out the high school drop-out they had working there had transposed my ophthalmologist's prescription incorrectly. So they sent the glasses back. Another 5 weeks before I got my glasses. Fast forward to January 2018. New prescription from my ophthalmologist, so new glasses. Went into Accurate Optical and this time it was the manager of the place herself who attended to me and transposed the prescription. Nothing could possibly go wrong, right? Well, except for the manager of the place - the manager! - being as incompetent as the rest of the staff in her ability to transpose prescriptions. I was told the new glasses would take "up to three weeks" to be delivered. Five weeks later I went into pick them up and guess what? Yup, couldn't see a thing through them. The manager, the person who runs the operation in Easton, had screwed up the prescription. Keep on promoting that woman, she knows her business! So re-order the glasses and they put a "rush" on them, they even wrote "Rush" in big letters. I was impressed. Four weeks later, still no glasses, so I went in to find out why? They had no clue where my glasses were but put in a call to "The Lab". Now we were getting somewhere. Except I suspect "The Lab" is a large yellow dog sleeping on the sofa, because he had no idea where my glasses were either. I eventually got a call saying that my glasses had been delayed by the snow. Bear in mind that it only snowed once in the last four weeks and that was yesterday. Is their lab outdoors? Bottom line is that after 9 weeks I still don't have my glasses. They billed my insurance on day one of course, and got paid. They have the money in their bank and could give a rat's rear end about you or your glasses. Once again, avoid this place like the plague. read more

9-WEEKS + AND STILL NOTHING...and then re-billed...SERIOUSLY?!?!? I can't begin to say how disappointed I am in this company. I cannot fathom a set of bifocals taking 9-weeks AND COUNTING! The Easton store referred me to their 'corporate' headquarters in Salisbury to try to get resolution. Upon attempts to reach Steve F. there I was evaded and only sent to voicemail. Attempts to call back only resulted in being directed to voicemail without even the receptionist answering. I finally called the Easton store and spoke with the manager who was able to get Steve F. to return my call. I explained that I've been waiting months for eyeglasses and my patience is long since expired...either have the eyeglasses I ordered or fully refund (ALL) my money! (Silly me - I paid this in cash.) After some sabre-rattling, received the bifocals two-days later at the Easton store. Last week I got a bill in the mail from getting my annual exam contacts fitting for $90 that indicated it was 120-days past due (yet this was the first notification I've received). I called the Easton store to figure-out what this was about and was told that my insurance didn't cover that part (contacts fitting) of the exam. I checked my credit card statement and saw that I charged $65 on my Amex card on that date for that contacts fitting during that exam. I was then told "yes, it should have been $65" but my Amex was declined so that is why the bill was sent. I was then directly to their Salisbury billing/accounting department who reiterated that my charge was declined, yet my Amex statement showed it was posted to my account on that date. I had to mail them a copy of my Amex statement to prove I was charged and they were paid. They were still unable to determine where their accounting went wrong, but eventually wrote-off the amount on their books and zero'd my account. Thank GOD I used a credit card on this exam, or I'd have no record of my payment (because they sure didn't)! Something is SERIOUSLY wrong with this place! Their statement of "Thank you for your confidence and trust." on their receipts can only be a pipe-dream with this lack of ability to deliver? They have earned neither trust or confidence. I was saddened to see so many other reviews recounting similar experiences with this company. My greatest regret is that I hadn't checked these reviews before I subjected myself to this (dis)organization. read more

Will never go back. Been lied to from the time I had my exam. Took me 7 weeks from the time of my exam until I got it straight. Was not told upfront that there is a problem with the lab and they couldn't tell me when I would get my glasses. If I had been told that, I would have gone somewhere else right away and had my glasses long before now. I had to get everything straight with the insurance company and credit card. I went elsewhere to get my glasses where customer service and telling the truth is a priority. I would rate them a 0 if I could. read more

Closed down the Easton office! Did not let patients know. I ordered contacts over 2 weeks prior. Called the Cambridge office to explain that I was waiting for contacts. I was told Well your not getting them!! Not until the Salisbury office reopens. I then asked when would that be and was told no one knows! Very friendly and professional on the in-take. Promised my glasses by a certain date. Absolutely no customer service or care on the out-take!! I have asked repeatedly when I can expect my glasses. They do not know. They will not call the factory to find out. The front desk just says that they have no way of finding out when I can expect them. I have asked to speak to the manager 3 times. She is "in a meeting" so I have left messages for her. No call back. No glasses. No information as to when I can expect them. Unbelievable. read more

Do not go here. We went in to order glasses and we told we might have to wait 6 weeks. Okay. Then they couldn't process our card but we could pay when the glasses arrived. Okay. Then I was told their system was acting up and that they would complete the order submission on the next day. WE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN. I asked for a confirmation call that they we ordered, known came. I called later in the week, everything was fine. 6 weeks later we call. We're told two or three more days. Three days later we call- they can't figure it out and will call us back. Today I call. Told the machine that makes no-focal has been down and they have a month of backorders waiting with no timeframe for completion. Hoping they get my insurance reinstated, yes I cancelled. I wish I had read the reviews prior to ordering my glasses. I was told it would take two weeks for my glasses to arrive. I called at three weeks, four weeks, and five weeks, still no glasses. Now I have to return to the store in person to get a refund. I will have to go elsewhere and start all over again. The thing that irritates me the most is that they act as if they couldn't care less. I guess they don't need customers. I will not go back there again, nor will I ever recommend them to anyone else. They are not the only game in town. read more

Initially, a good experience with Dr. McDonald and staff. My wife and I were promised our new glasses in two weeks . . . great. Well, my wife's glasses took four weeks and I am still waiting at over six weeks . . . all without a call to keep me informed. I have called many times and been told "only two more days or so". Not very customer service oriented. Won't be using this business again, there are many in the Easton area that could do better. read more

I was treated in a very condescending manner throughout my eye exam, the dr. was rude, curt, lectured to me regarding my children's eye health (who he doesn't know and were not even present), told me my eyes haven't changed because I'm a stay at home mom and I don't work. Fool me once, shame on me; fool me twice, shame on them. Never, ever again will I go to this place. My first experience was just ok although it took much longer to get my glasses than what I was promised. Five months later, the lenses were so badly scratched that I took them in for a replacement. It took over 2 1/2 months to get them back! I was given a "next week" several times; finally got angry and was told the facility in Salisbury broke the frames and the blue color was no longer made but they had it in black. I did not want black but they suggested trying the frames, if I didn't like them, they would make me a new pair. Well, of course, I didn't like them. One of the women gave me the website for the frame maker and said she would order them, again, if I didn't like them, I was under no obligation to take them. I did like them and they were re-ordered. One and half years later I need a new prescription (have not idea why I went back there!); had the same doctor who accused me of not keeping my Type ! diabetes under control because I was seeing a retinaologist who was treating me for problems specific to T1d. I was shocked; he does not know me or what my health history is. I was very upset, I also think he was making such noises when I saw him the first time. I pick out some frames and get through the sale when the tech says it will be 3 weeks. I call at 3 weeks, no, you were told 4 weeks. I counter that it isn't true but, it makes no difference. I call the following week, no, another week. Call the next week, not ready, had to be sent out for the coating. It's the same young woman each time I call; no apologies but acts like I sure am bothering her! I call the following week; not ready yet. Get a call the next day that the glasses are in. Hooray---one day short of 6 weeks! Then, get this, same bored girl calls me the day after I pick them up and says they will be ready next week. This place is a joke! Next time I will drive to Costco......I get them in a week and soooo much cheaper. Losers. read more
