It hadn't been painted in many years and was in need of a lot of prep work. The job was complicated by its remote location in the mountains down a 7-mile-long gravel road, it being off the grid, and my needing to manage the job from my home in Oregon 8 hours away. Needless to say, we were having trouble finding a high-quality painting contractor willing to take on the job. Then I found Ken Bailey. We discussed the job over the phone, I provided him with photos and dimensions, and he gave a verbal quote. With my encouragement, he took the time to visit the cabin in person to fine-tune his bid. I wanted to make sure that he knew what he was getting into. I checked his references and they were great, so we selected him. He was able to start the job not long thereafter, and it was an absolute pleasure working with him. He provided multiple options for the paint job to meet our specific needs and budget and provided recommendations given our unique circumstances (the lower half of the cabin is buried under the snowpack every winter). He helped us to match the existing paint color, texting me photos of colors and express mailing me swatches of the final color samples. He did a great job prepping and painting the cabin, and he sent me daily photos and regular videos of progress, and texted or called regarding any questions that came up. His communication was excellent throughout the project. The original wood cabin windows are in poor condition, but he came up with multiple solutions for appropriate coatings for them and talked me through the pros and cons of the various options to help me make a good decision for the best solution to help preserve their historic look while protecting them from the harsh mountain weather. He was even willing to paint a few extras (outdoor furniture and the like). At the project completion, he sent me detailed videos for my approval. I would hire him again without hesitation.

Nathan repainted the exterior of our 2,000 square foot stucco home, including some trim, doors,…read moreetc. He rolled the paint on the stucco to ensure that all of the nooks and crannies were evenly filled. He did a great job, paying close attention to the many details of the job (including some fills and repairs) on our 30+ year old home. He also refinished our incense cedar shutters, which required extensive prep work. The finished shutters are a real asset to our living space. All work was completed within established budgets. We are very happy that we selected Nathan for our projects and would recommend him to others.
