Basically tried this location since it was closer to my house and the reviews. 2 star service for sure! I had to ask for help and it was painful trying to pry information from the sales person. I usually go to the Sally Beauty Supply in South Torrance or purchase online. They have a frequent buyer card, but definitely passed on that. If you know exactly what you want, and they have it stocked then visit the store. If you need help on product or something new.....don't bother. Sorry, don't waste your time. I wish this was closer to El Segundo, it's fully stocked Beauty supply. The only other one is Beauty Loops in Redondo Beach, (Riviera) which is a little out of the way plus this one has bigger size cans of hair spray (certain quality brands) It's always easy find parking and near all the major streets & shopping centers. I went from my natural light brunette to a blonde a year or more ago. I really didn't like it on me after a while especially how much of a "golden" blonde it was. I wanted to go back to a more cool toned, SLIGHTLY darker color. The guy there (didn't catch his name) recommended me a color and a developer. The cashier at the front was so rude and not welcoming. maybe because she looked very sick and pale dressed in sweatpants like she rolled out of bed. she kept snorting loudly it sounded like really thick mucus and coughing. As I said on my Google review I raised kids and my husband is a doctor so I know what allergies sound like and what contagious sickness sounds like. PLEASE STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK. I called to ask a seemingly simple question but was refused a direct answer as to whether or not I can use their hair dyes on my highlighted hair. Came in Saturday evening looking for a few products since I didn't have a chance to have my hair stylist pick them up. They definitely have a large selection of hair and some makeup products, so that's always a plus. They had the Large bottle of the Redken All Soft conditioner and it was on sale! They also had the Goldwell Kerasilk Color Protective Blow Dry spray I came in for but it was $30!!! I was shocked! It was ridiculously overpriced but I somehow talked myself into buying it. After having my Hair stylist yell at me for paying that price I look at the receipt and of course they are Store Credit or Exchange only! Definitely won't be shopping here again. read more

My favorite beauty supply store! They just recently moved a few doors down, closer to the Hallmark store where Ramona's Bakery used to be. Do you need to buy hair dye? They have it! How about you want someone to do it for you? Gina is in the back, ready to fix your hair however you want it! If you'd like a facial or a wax, there's two people available, but I always use Tracy. She's friendly, efficient, and I always come out from there feeling like a million bucks! They also have two wonderful young ladies that give manicures and pedicures, and I'd highly recommend them. They are very friendly and attentive, and, unlike most nail salons, they speak English all the time. I don't recommend shopping at this beauty center. I bought a curling iron there that was defective and poor quality. The pieces were coming apart and it gave off a burning smell. They would not refund my money for it. Apparently they have all sales final policy. On top of it, the sales clerk was really rude about it and was sort of laughing at me when I was asking for a refund. This place is rad. I went here expecting a run-of-the-mill beauty supply store, but they have such a great array of products! For one, they have a ton of really great nail polish: Deborah Lippman, Zoya, Butter London, and more. Prices are very reasonable. They also tend to stock harder-to-find products, like a ton of different scents for the Jack Black lip balm line. I thought that was really neat. The store is always very clean, and their service is attentive and helpful. And when I say helpful, I really mean it-- most of the staff really knows what they've got at the store. I've been coming here for a while for my beauty supplies and I love it here! The customer service is excellent; feel free to ask them any questions you have. They'll recommend the best product for what you can afford; if you're looking for something within a price range, they won't just show you the most expensive product they have in the store. Also with some products, if you aren't completely satisfied you can bring back the remainder of the product within two weeks for a refund. Luckily for me, I haven't bought a product I've wanted to return. If there's a product they normally carry but are out of stock, they can call you when it comes back in stock! Their punch card system is great. Every $100 you spend, you get $10 off your next purchase. If you spend $100 or more in one purchase, they'll instantly give you $10 off that purchase! The best part is you don't have to spend a certain amount to use your $10 discount either (it obviously has to be greater than $10 though); if you want to use it on a $15 purchase, go right ahead! I highly recommend this place for your beauty needs. Great service with great selection of products. read more

Woo hoo & Yes, Ace Beauty Supply in Torrance is as good as it gets! I've been going there for years! To the point that when I lived in North Redondo, heck even when I was in Lakewood... I would drive to Torrance. I trust them and it is like finding family. If you ever need anything special... they make you feel special & it is never a problem to get it for you. The discount cards are awesome! & i have cards that I find in old purses from years ago - & they will still honor them! If they are 1/2 full and you have a handful of them they will put them together to make a full card discount (some places just wont do that even though it makes sense) Mary is a delight ...(had to give a shout out to my girl) but everyone is delightful ... My new go-to! I wish I knew the name of the lady who helped me, but I assume she was the owner. The woman is a sheer product wiz! She knows and understands products better than any other hair stylist I've encountered. She took the time to identify what kind of product I was looking for based on my hair type and my needs, asked what I was currently using/have used in the past, etc etc. From there, she took me around the store showing me a plethora of similar products and what each specializes in. She was well-versed and knowledgable in each and every product, not just the ones she likes or those that are best sellers. Because let's face it, best sellers aren't always the best products. As an added bonus, they have a shelf dedicated for Voluspa candles - my fav. Unfortunately I left $100 poorer but hey, good products aren't cheap. Your hair is worth it. I like this place because it has Reuzel Pomade. They're the only store I know locally that carries this particular brand and type that I like. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars because I thought it was a bit pricey. $16 (if i remember correctly)!!!
