This shop was horrible. Next time I'll just deal with a real pro. Live and learn I guess.

The Short Version: Very busy auto shop, but courteous,…read morepatient, and did a great job. The Long Version: I'm a bit hesitant to write this review, because I don't want them to be busier than they already are so I can get a quicker appointment the next time I need them, lol. But I need to give credit where credit is due and these guys are 5 stars all the way. My 12 year old car was making some rattling noises when I drove over bumps or uneven road. Takaki Auto had excellent reviews on many different platforms, and combing through them they seemed like legit reviews. They also came highly recommended on several chat forums. They are also close to my house and specialize in Japanese vehicles, which mine is. When I called for an appointment, I described my issue and they told me the plan of what they were going to check. They were booking about a month out. I dropped off my car on my appointment date and was able to rent a loaner car. They ended up keeping my car over the weekend because they weren't able to finish the work on the Friday that I dropped it off, but I was ok with that since I had the loaner. Hiroshi called me and explained the situation after they diagnosed what was wrong. They had already gone ahead and replaced a stabilizer link because I had given pre-authorization for certain repairs, if required, but further repairs were needed so he had to talk with me. He gave me some options (like just replacing the bushings instead of the entire controller arms). And advised me it wasn't urgent to fix, but explained some possible consequences of delaying the fix (like uneven tire wear and the sound could mask other more critical sounds if something else were to go wrong). He was very patient with me as I know very little about cars. In the end I didn't want to delay the repairs and I had them replace the 2 control arms for me. They texted me when my car was ready and sent me the detailed invoice. Pickup went smoothly and they fixed the problem. My car no longer made the rattling sound when I drove over bumps and the car seemed to drive smoother. I found the price reasonable and I was very happy with the customer service. Oh, let me tell you about the loaner car, it was like over 20 years old with over 300,000 km on it, yet still drove well. I feel this in itself is a testament to their skills, lol. I am glad to have found an auto shop that I like. My dad does all the basic maintenance stuff for me like oil changes, changing my tires and he can even change brake pads and spark plugs, but the more complicated stuff I need to take to professionals. That will likely be Takaki for me going forward. Review #216 (2025)

WARNING: ANATOMY OF A PREDATORY MALPRACTICE AND DECEPTIVE TACTICS…read more As a retired Scientific Researcher and former NCSO Safety Officer, my entire career has been dedicated to empirical analysis, risk assessment, and rigorous safety protocols. I do not operate on emotion; I operate on evidence. The data collected from my interactions with this establishment reveals a deeply disturbing business model rooted in technical incompetence, predatory exploitation, and calculated deception. A. THE EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE OF MECHANICAL NEGLIGENCE. In September 2025, I brought my vehicle here for a routine starter replacement. The chronological data that followed is damning: Immediate Systemic Failure: Minutes after leaving the shop, the belt tensioner failed catastrophically on the highway. 1. THE CAUSATION LINK: Any competent technician understands the spatial and mechanical proximity of these components during a starter replacement. To claim a spontaneous, unlinked failure of a heavy-duty tensioner mere moments after parts were manipulated is a statistical impossibility. It is a direct causation disguised as correlation. 2. PROFITEERING FROM MISTAKES: Management weaponized this manufactured failure to extort an additional $470 from me to fix what their own workmanship compromised. 3. DEFECTIVE INSTRUMENTATION: The "new" starter they installed failed entirely after less than 1,000 km of use. This is empirical proof of either severe procedural error during installation or the utilization of deeply substandard, unverified parts. To date, this shop's gross negligence has cost me over $2,000. Far worse than the financial hemorrhage was the acute physical danger. Their mechanical incompetence caused a high-speed highway failure that actively endangered my life and subjected me to severe traumatic shock. B. CALCUCALCULATED BIAS AND PREDATORY TARGET IDENTIFICATION. From a behavioral standpoint, this establishment acts as a apex predator toward those it deems "soft targets." I was subjected to blatant, unconscionable discrimination based on visible vulnerability metrics: my age, my disability, and my accent. While preferred clients were ushered into a comfortable, climate-controlled waiting area, I was callously ordered to walk to a neighboring McDonald's--despite the fact that staff watched me visibly struggle to walk. They identified my physical limitations and accent as indicators of a vulnerable target who could be easily marginalized and financially exploited. C. THE VERDICT. Do not be blinded by the heavily curated "NAPA AUTOPRO" and "Precision" branding. This corporate veneer is a masterclass in manipulative marketing designed to camouflage systemic malpractice. They are a threat to your wallet, a threat to your dignity, and an absolute hazard to your physical safety on the road. Filter this page by the negative reviews--they provide the only scientifically accurate depiction of how this garage operates.
