The Ace Demolition crew of three men arrived on time and did a bang-up job of removing a heavy cement porch that was being pushed up by the roots of a giant magnolia tree. It took them 2 hours to remove the porch using two pneumatic jack hammers. We found many magnolia roots about 2 feet across in the dirt under where the cement porch was - it was a great service to us that they could remove it. The Ace crew was very considerate and neat in their work, also efficient and diligent. The removed all the cement pieces, hosed down the sidewalks, and left the site neat. We're very happy to have had them here. We've now put a cement barrier in the dirt to stop the roots, and have almost finished building a nice wooden porch. Many thanks to Ace! Everything went very well on the job I hired Ace Demolition to do which was demolish and remove a small glass sunroom attached to my house. I chose Ace because they had great Yelp reviews and also because their quote was the lowest of the three I got quotes from, which by the way varied in price quite a bit. Ace was able to schedule the demolition on the exact day I requested. The day before, they contacted me to ask if it would be ok if they put a porta-potty on my driveway which I thought was a very courteous thing to do rather than assuming I'd be ok with that. As for the demolition itself, they did a really great job. They capped off the electricity that was removed along with all the other parts of the sunroom. We had an old pool, that took up our whole back yard. Ace gave us a very reasonable bid for the partial demolition of the pool and the surrounding concrete apron. STOP researching and HIRE ACE DEMOLITION! Let me save you all the trouble of finding a business that will say what they will do and do it on time. Just like you, I found them on yelp and happy that I did. Call Paul to schedule Eric for an estimate, then just book it. Ace Demolition removed our pool. It was a hard decision as we fixed it 3x with structural corrections, glue fill-ins and etc. Then, earthquakes and life happened that kept causing cracks and leaks. We just couldn't put anymore money into it so we had to remove it. Ace Demolition were able to fit their multiple machines into a tight opening on a steep hill with multiple steps to fill it in. They built their own ramps to make it work! Nothing was too hard or complex for them. The staff that worked on site were respectful of the space and worked efficiently. For instance, my difficult neighbors like to "supervise" at a distance including parking in front of their house. The crew knew not to park in front of their house or engage with their craziness. Eric and Paul were responsive by text or email, gave daily status updates, and patiently calmed me down. When our county inspector had many questions during the visit, Eric smoothed it over allowing for no delay. At the end of the demo, they stayed late to clean up the dust and dirt so well that even the county inspector acknowledged their work. The only thing you will regret is not calling them sooner. I solicited nine bids to demolish and haul away a large pigeon coup that was 32' long 7' wide and 8' high and of substantial construction. The job also included hauling away four rooms of carpeting that were in the backyard and other miscellaneous debris. Of the nine solicitations I received five bids and selected Ace Demolition for three reasons. (1) Eric came out to see the job and arrived early. He surveyed the job and provided a verbal bid followed up by a written one. (2) His bid was quite reasonable (3) he has a contractor's license which some of the other bidders did not. I had called the California State Licensing Board who informed me that if the demolition job cost more than $500.00 a license was required. I also verified through them that Ace Demolition had a current license. After informing Eric that the job was his, he scheduled it for a few days later at 7:30 AM on a Tuesday. Jacob, Eric's father showed up Tuesday morning half an hour before starting time and surveyed the job. A little while later two workers, Jessie and Ralph showed up and began the job. An hour and a half later, two additional workers showed up. I did not get their names. All four workers had excellent attitudes and performed very well. The whole job from start to completion was well executed and completed by around 11:45 AM. I was completely satisfied with the job and I highly recommend Ace Construction if you want your job well executed, completed on time, and executed by a professional licensed firm at a reasonable rate. read more

The crew that worked on my complete pool removal worked so hard! Because we had a very narrow access to the backyard, they were limited to working with smaller equipment which made their work much harder - and longer. They were running a little bit behind at one point because it was slow going when the cement turned out to be much thicker than anyone anticipated. They asked if they could work on Saturdays to make up time, which was far beyond what I expected. This was in the hottest part of the summer (over 100 degrees every day) and it got up to 105 degrees on one of those days! Yet they continued to work - even in those conditions. I kept a big cooler of ice and water bottles for them and the guys constantly let me know how much they appreciated it. They were very friendly, considerate and pleasant to have around and no one could have worked harder. They didn't mind that I took a million photos to document this big transition for our family and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Eric and his team(s) to anyone. read more
