They later helped to clear out all our weeds, planted new succulents, bushes, plants, and added a fruit tree--which leveled up our yard. They also fixed some issues with our irrigation system, which was a huge plus. You can really tell Ramuldo and Eric care about what they do. They were super knowledgeable about plants, trees, and even local wildlife, which made the whole process feel really thoughtful and not just like a quick job. Flores Artscape took on a massive and complicated fence build at our house that many other vendors would have likely not wanted to take on. They did it with a "can do," positive, solution-focused approach and despite the inevitable complexities that arose they were always eager to figure out a creative way to address challenges. We enjoyed working with their teams. The company is filled with friendly, hard-working, and kind people. And the fence, gate, additional retaining structure, and extra barrier all came out impressive. Given how the fence needed to be straddling a steep hill and change dramatically in length as it goes up 120 linear feet, they were able to do great work and improvise as needed. They definitely went above and beyond in many areas for us, and were open to and reasonable about addressing unforeseen stuff when it came up. We hired Flores Artscape to simultaneously take on several complex, overlapping projects around our house, and we were blown away with the quality of the work, the attention to detail, and the professionalism that Rumaldo and his team brought to everything that they did. We had Flores 1. tear down and rebuild a failing retaining wall and install new fencing on top, 2. completely redo our entire backyard including replacing turf with grass, installing sprinklers, constructing a patio and connecting stone walkway, constructing a retractable shade sail with supporting metal frame, softscaping, and putting in new trees and plants, 3. redo all of the planters in our front yard with new softscaping, new plants, and a tree, 4. install an extensive drainage system under all of this including French drains along the retaining wall, a network of underground pipes to route drainage from downspouts and low zones into a new sump well, and buried outflow to the street, and 5. construct a shed to cover our water filtration system. This was a huge project, but Rumaldo's team rose to the occasion and completed it on time, on budget, to a very high standard, and we couldn't be more happy with the results. Rumaldo's designer, Jason, was also wonderful to work with; Jason put a lot of thought and care in designing the entire project plan and was prompt and collaborative in incorporating our feedback into his designs. The Flores team was also very kind in working with us to accommodate schedule tweaks around our baby's nap schedule, and were generally very friendly and professional. We are really enjoying our new back yard now and we expect that it will serve our family's needs well for a very long time. Rumaldo and his team did a beautiful job updating the side-run of my house. They graded the space and added wood steps held-down by rebar. They built a privacy fence in a custom shape to fit the awkward area up top. It included a swinging door that was built with a custom metal frame (they built the metal frame on-site), which was an impressive level of quality. They built 10' x 8' privacy fence between us and the neighbors (on the left side), and they laid DG to suppress weeds and hold the slope. The team was very courteous and communicative. They brought a 3-4 man crew with lots of supplies (including a porto potty). I hit a few snags along the way that had to do with the specific list of work that was to be done. Jason visited the property to get the scope of work and then Sandro brought wood stain samples and answered all my questions. I used Flores Artscape to do some heavy duty hardscaping in my backyard, and they did a fantastic job. When we bought our house, sections of concrete in the backyard were not graded correctly, creating a drainage problem. In addition to fixing this issue, we also wanted to remove some concrete to make room for more plants. First Jason came by and we talked through ideas together. He offered advice on what would be the most aesthetically pleasing and cost friendly way to approach the project. When the project kicked off, Rumaldo (the owner of the company) was in constant contact and a pleasure to work with - super friendly guy. He brought in a great crew who did incredible work. They were very detail oriented. They removed the old concrete, poured new concrete and did an exceptional job making sure it was graded correctly and level with the surrounding parts of the patio. (Other landscapers doubted they could make the new concrete level with the old pieces, but the Flores team found a way.) They also gave the concrete patio a more organic shape, and added a brick border, created new garden bed, planted a privacy hedge, laid down weed barrier and new mulch, and extended our drip line to the new plants. When I was diagnosed with terminal cancer, I realized that putting off my dream of having a beautiful flower garden was no longer something I could do. So I looked on Yelp to find a landscaper, and I chose Flores Artscape based on the reviews I saw. A few months into the planting, I'm pleased to confirm the general approval of this company - not because everything went perfectly, but because it didn't. Because the weather stayed cold later in the year than expected, and because I was too ill to micromanage plant care myself, some of the plants came near to death and two of them died. While the people at Flores were extraordinarily busy (always a good sign, if you know what it means) and had some delay in responding, when they did get back to me they quickly identified the problem, agreed to replace the dead plants, and even advised me on what to tell my new gardener about how to help rehabilitate the plants whose growth had been thrown off by weather issues and partial plant death. At my request they also provided me with a printed list of all the plants on the property and their care requirements, as well as provided labeled stakes to help me remember which (which I had not even realized I needed; they simply provided this along with the requested documents). Many landscapers have a "plant and run" attitude, and I appreciate that Flores made sure there was always someone to follow up when I needed it. Just a follow up that the landscaping and artificial turf Flores team installed continues to be a failure. There are weeds growing through the turf so clearly didn't put weed barrier. This has been happening since they first installed. The plants died off because the drip system continues to need repairs They charged high and used cheap. Multiple landscapers since have said they planted either the wrong types of plants or too shallow. Basically Flores did an unprofessional job at my home but charged extraordinary prices. We had a simple, but large backyard makeover we have been wanting to do for 5 years now (since we moved in) but never made the move until now -- with a baby on the way. Flores Artscape was one of 3 contractors I reached out to, and from the very beginning to the end of the project, they have been amazing to work with. We had a lot of demo (lots of old brick planters, old sprinklers, a fence that was falling apart, various materials, etc.) and wanted to replace these areas with new concrete, concrete pavers, and artificial turf so that we had a clean space with low maintenance. We also added gravel and pebbles to various areas of the yard, and rocks to the side of our driveway. We also plan to plant some trees and herbs on our own in the back, so they graded the soil down and installed a drip irrigation system that gives us the flexibility to set up for ourselves later. During all the hauling, a part of our driveway cracked and they repaired that as well. Everyone we interacted with throughout the project, from the initial design consultation with Jason to communicating with Rumaldo, Nancy, Mariana, and Antonio + the crew, was very professional and friendly. The crew worked tirelessly in the hot weather, still paid attention to details, and did the job so quickly. These guys are jokers. The cost was high and I needed to redo much of the work. They couldn't even install edging in a straight line. They planted trees too close to a cynderblock wall, and the roots are now causing damage. I'm going to now spend thousands to remove the trees, fix the wall, and replace the trees. Step 1 - The Proposal: We met with ERIC several times to discuss what we had in mind, and he offered his feedback and input. At the end of each workday, they thoroughly cleaned the sidewalk and driveway. They were professional and courteous.
