Gary is top-notch. I submitted my inquiry and he called right away to ask some questions to make sure he had a good understanding of what was happening. I sent him a couple of videos of what seemed to be the problem and Gary gave me an assessment. This whole thing started because I had another plumbing company that had a lot of advertising and branding on their vans come out. That company said that I needed to spend like $25,000 for a liner replacement. Gary took a look at some of the videos and said that he could probably fix it and there might not even be an issue. Gary came out the next day, cleared the whole pipeline, and gave me advice for the next time. He only charged me way, way less than that $25,000. We contacted Gary after another Plumber Snaked our pipes and said we would have to replace pipes with ABS ($$). Gary and his helper, Greg, methodically went through our 3 story house, starting at the top floor kitchen sink and working his way down to our Laundry room and then our Primary Bathroom, All of which had slow or clogged drains. He cleared all the drains and we ran all the faucets and washer at once to make sure everything worked. Took about 2hours. The charge was reasonable and determined before he started the work. I will use them again. I'm pretty happy with the service. I had a blocked main line under the house, that I was unable to clear myself, so I'd needed to call a pro. I googled for drain cleaning services and Gary's Rooter and Hydro-Jetting came up, with good reviews. I double checked reviews with Yelp, and decided to give him a call. He answered. Not a dispatcher or national service third party, like I would have gotten if calling one of the well known Rooter company names. The actual guy answered the phone. He gave me a ballpark estimate over the phone, with the reasonable caveat that until he sees the issue he can't know for sure. He and his partner came within a few hours, which was the time he'd estimated over the phone. They assed the issue and confirmed pricing based on what they saw, then they cleared the obstruction quickly; ran a camera through the pipe to show me how it looks; and discussed options for hydro jetting. While they'd cleared the main problem swiftly, it made sense to me to also have them do the hydro jetting of some roots that were closer to the street, as a preventative measure. That was also done pretty quickly, and I also got to see the before and after video camera feeds of the inside of the pipes. All-in, I was happy with the service and considered the cost to be transparent and fair. read more

I have an old sewer line very prone to root problems. I decided I to do a maintenance clean out before I had another back-up. I compared several rooting services on Yelp and picked Gary's Rooter and he proved to be GREAT! He answered his own phone and from my description, he gave me a bid that he kept to. We made an appointment which he confirmed in my text with the bid. On the day I texted him that I was off site, so he dutifully kept in contact on his way so I could meet him there. He showed up on time, layed down floor matts and put a shield on the rooter to prevent liquid from spinning onto the plastic grass yard. His work was done professionally and transparently. He allowed me to watch the video screen as he explained the issues, what he was doing to address them and why. He pointed out problems due to age and prior attempts at maintenance that were lacking and suggested several interesting long-term solutions. I need to forgo those for the moment, but now I have an incredibly clean sewer line from my 1930s house out to the join with the city sewer. There Gary used a hydro-jet and eliminated a huge root that had grown to cover almost a third of the pipe after being ignored by prior clean out companies. (The return the next day with the hydro jet was extra, but I had pointedly requested the Blade Rooter so I have no problem with that. It was fair.) Woke up early Saturday morning to get work done around the house (pulling weeds, washing windows etc). It was about 1pm, chores were done and ready to shower and relax for the rest of the day. Opened the shower door and there was 3" of disgusting sewage that came up from the drain. I've lived in this home for almost 10 years and have never experienced anything like that. Contacted the landlord and he tried using a plunger. That didn't work. So he asked me to look for a rooter guy to see if they were available.
