And then they wonder why I said FU and hung up. Also sent an email and got a nasty response from the owner. I will be pursuing legal action. Whether it was one gallon or 200 gallons this needs to be rectified. Thank god I was home and stopped the guy before he filled it all the way and I would never ha

This past Saturday, we ordered fuel from Big Oak Fuel. We inquired about the cost per gallon and was quoted $2.55. This was prior to telling Scott that we had a military discount and given him our credit card information. When the fuel truck arrived, my husband offered to show the ID card and the fuel man said that the discounts are done at the office once the receipts are turned. Because I have had a bad experience with this company, in the past, I had called again, once I had the receipt in hand, to verify. Scott said the discount will come off when he bills the credit card company. I said ok, just checking to be sure. I said I will check with my credit card company, on line, to be sure the discount was applied. Today, I checked and the discount did not come off. So I called again, and spoke to Scott, who now claims he quoted us at $2.57 and the $2.55 is the discount was applied. I asked "why did you tell me the discount is applied at the office once the day's receipts are turned in". This is what had happened the last time. And if I was not in need of fuel, on a Saturday, I would have used another company that honors Military discounts. My issue isn't with the cost I was charged or the difference, but with the fact that you are given one quote, and then told you will receive a discount, and then not given this discount when billed. It is also the customer service, that you receive when you call to dispute the charges. And suddenly, the amount is 2 cents higher then the original quote. So raise the cost 2 cents then discount and get full price. This afternoon, I contacted my credit card company and am disputing the charge.

They came out to check our furnace... about 25 years old. Were there for less than 15 minutes…read moresaying it needed a new inducer fan or a new furnace. Either $1200 or $14,000. Of course since the fan would fix the problem we opted for the fan. Came back with the fan 5 days later and during installation said, oh you could have a carbon monoxide if you don't get a new furnace. Really??!!! Of course we don't want a carbon monoxide leak! So what, install the fan for $1200 and then a whole new furnace weeks later??? Why put the fan in in the first place if we're going to have to get a new furnace??? And then they charged us for the fan installment after never putting it in!!! Disputing the credit card charge and will never recommend... just the opposite!

Remember that these people get paid up front for a service contract, so the less parts and labor they provide means more profit for them. So there's already an incentive NOT to properly repair or replace a part. For months we put up with an air conditioner that wouldn't cool, and a flooded basement on quite a few occasions, due to a frozen evaporator A-coil and a defective condensate pump. I got suspicious of what this company was actually doing to "repair" the A/C system. It turns out that they had a relationship with the property owner who told them to do the minimum amount of repairs, because she planned on selling the property. So after a few useless recharges of freon, an employee tipped me off that their service manager knew that the system was shot, and told his service employees to just go through the motions and recharge it once in a while. And their office was part of this scheme, lying to me over the phone about what was wrong. This totally unethical business practice put my family, including my two girls with special needs, through hell over a hot summer. I was in the process of purchasing this home and had an agreement of sale drawn up, along with a disclosure form. But once I had a home inspection done and learned how bad the heater and air conditioning system were (along with the roof, septic, etc etc), I immediately changed my mind and never signed the agreement. I also told my neighbors what kind of service operation Medford Heating ran. Fortunately, I bought a much nicer home out of town for much less money, without these issues. And I escaped from Medford Heating as a service provider.
