I have been going to Ace since I was literally a kid with my grandpa when we lived in Pedley, CA. (Riverside, CA.). I always loved going there and looking at all the different options for home repair. Since moving out this way, the only options to go to an ACE hardware is either Van Nuys or Thousand Oaks -- so I started going to DIY as it has an ACE environment type feel and if they didn't have what I needed it was off to the big home improvement stores/warehouses. With all that in mind, I was very excited when I saw that Ace was opening here. I went in with my son during the soft opening and he was beyond excited. We walked up and down every aisle in the place and he would ask m questions and if there was an employee nearby -- he would ask them questions. They were awesome in directly speaking with him. This morning, I looked at all the different purchases I have made there since they opened and realized that I have not once written a Yelp review for them. So here it is. Ace has a great selection of different brands and knowledgeable sales staff. I truly feel that I am valued as a customer there and enjoy the small mom and pop shop environment the store provides. I have bought a wide range of gardening equipment, electrical supplies, tools, bbq equipment and supplies, lawn decorations, plumbing supplies, and just about anything else I have needed. I have felt the pricing is reasonable considering that the time I would have to spend driving to Thousand Oaks to a big home improvement store to save somewhere between a few dollars, the gas, trying to find someone to help me find what in need, and the time wasted that I can do my project. The fact is, Ace is convenient, quick, friendly, efficient service, reasonably priced, great selections, and extremely helpful employees. I do want to give a shoutout to Kim, David, and Nick for helping me on May 23, 2026 on locating the correct replacement chainsaw blade, chains, fuels, and bar and chain oil for my older gas powered Craftsman chainsaw. I wish the survey code on the receipt was useful for at least 1 week after a purchase. Perhaps your regional manger can get that surgery time extended as I would have gladly done it. I set the receipt down at home and forgot about it until early this morning as I have been so focused on cutting down those trees. The good news is, I'll be in today to buy more fuel and a couple more chains AND I will do the survey in the store this time. Thanks again for being so friendly and helpful. read more

Shout out to Dawson--dude's holding it down. The store's still in soft opening mode, but already lightyears ahead of that sad excuse for the other hardware store in Agoura. This place looks like the Apple Store had a baby with a tool shed--clean, organized, and dangerously easy to spend money in. Massive BBQ section with Traegers, pellets, rare seasonings, and enough grilling accessories to make any meat-lover black out with joy at a great value!! Bonus: YETI gear everywhere . Grand opening is April 25-27 and, rumor has it (which I absolutely didn't hear), the whole store might be 20% off. You didn't hear it from me--unless it is, then I totally told you so. Had to check them out! They just opened a few days ago. Needed some small hinges. Store is really well/organized and clean. Can't believe how much they've got. So fresh! Not the largest Ace, and I don't see a garden area, though some smaller potted flowers were out front. The people were all excellent, asking to help with anything I needed. Kimberleigh was especially fun! Prices seem very reasonable and in line with what others offer in the area. Definitely coming back! read more

When they say it is the helpful hardware place, they don't joke! I went in looking for those plastic liners for terra cotta pots. I spoke to Randy, and she showed me some plastic saucers, but they didn't have terra cotta pots, so no one needs a plastic liner for a plastic saucer for a plastic pot. My request was odd. It was needed for a fairy garden pond for my 3-year-old daughter. Randy and I spoke about other options when Pete walked by and asked Randy if she needed help. I showed Pete pictures of my half-developed fairy garden and said I needed a terra cotta saucer and a plastic liner to make it into a fairy garden lake with glowing rocks, a dock, a boat, and some rafts at the bottom of a waterfall. Most people would laugh at anyone with these silly requests, but they thought it was cool, and Pete said, "I have some terra cotta pots and saucers at home, I'm happy to give you! Can you come back on Friday between 7 am and 3 pm?" We spoke for a little longer, and a couple of days later, I came back. Randy saw me walk in with my 3 and 5-year-olds in a cart and said, "Pete will be so happy to see you!" He kindly went to his car with a cart, loaded them into my car, and Randy paid out the tomato plant and soil my kids wanted to plant tomatoes. I've been back several times, I'm always greeted with the best service, and love having a hardware store so close and caring! No matter how ridiculous your project. You might think you need to hit up a garden center or Michaels, but you might just need a quick stop in at ACE on your way to grab some groceries at Ralphs! I was SO excited to go to the new ACE. I finally had a reason; I needed a new stud finder. Here is why I gave them a one star review and why I will NOT go back. 1. It was hard to find anyone to answer questions. 2. When I did, I asked where the stud finders were. The man who I asked turned to another employee going toward the office and said, "Here's one." I did not think that was funny and did not react in a way that would indicate I did, but ok. 3. At lease three more times the person made sexist comments about finding studs, saying everyone needs a stud, etc. Hmmm. Still not amused and a bit insulted. 4. He could not answer a basic question about the one he showed me. 5. There was only one brand option. 6. The display was not priced and he complained, "just one more thing they want me to do." 7. The prices seemed high, so I went across the freeway to DYI and found multiple brands including the one I got at ACE. It was HALF the price and not on sale. 8. The one positive: I could return it easily at ACE. Bummer. Not only won't I go back to this store, but I will never shop at any ACE again. There are too many options to put up with the high prices and disrespect. read more

The cashier named Shane is the rudest employee and always has smirky comments and doesn't know anything about customer service. They should keep this guy in the warehouse and away from customers because he never smiles and looks like he hates his job and cant wait for you to leave and hates answering questions. I don't know why Ace hardware has such low standards for their employees. read more

There was a manager there before with long hair, Brian I think his name was & they fired him just because he was trying to stop theft from happening. He was the best, most knowledgeable & helpful manager ever! So accommodating & even carried my stuff to the car, multiple times. They made a huge mistake! These stores need to stop this! Ace is the place!!! So excited that this area finally has a great hardware store. The staff, along with being welcoming, is extremely knowledgeable. On my first experience at the Agoura Hills location I went in to buy fertilizer for succulents. Fortunately the ACE employee knew his stuff and advised me against it. He told me it would kill the plants. He was spot on. My neighbor who suggested the fertilizer killed his succulents. Today Kim, ACE employee, educated me on why my hose sprayer was leaking. The store is a superstore of organized essentials! The customer service is what you may have gotten from a local general store. The employees are there to answer your questions and look up online to seek answers they do not know. If an item is not in stock they will offer to order the item for you. I needed batteries for my Apple tags and they were quick to pull the correct type and confirmed with research on the web. Ace Hardware will be my 'go to' neighborhood hardware store! With the spot on customer service and your savings in both gas and time, it is well worth a visit to Ace Hardware on Kanan in Agoura Hills. Value your time, unless you enjoy wondering the mega aisles of the warehouse sized hardware stores. read more
