Really the most helpful and friendly staff at our local paint store. I work close by, my boss and I always pop in here when we are working on a do-it-yourself project for our studio and every time we are greeted with a smile and friendly service. We are starting a project that involves painting on brick and the gentleman that helped my boss showed her all the supplies she would need, as well as walked her through the process. We are pretty crafty here, but that helpful advice can be super invaluable! Thank you for always offering the best service and high quality paint, we will certainly be back here soon.

Bought a "new" roll of plastic sheeting but turned out to be "used"...

Extremely helpful! They have a color specialist with a desk by the front door to help, if needed.

I could have sworn it wasn't that. I asked the guy and he didn't give a response, but could only offer the blank GenZ Stare and silence. I grabbed the piece and said that it was alright, I will go check the price. After having to walk all the way back to the rear of the store to the wood section, I confirmed that it was only $8. I took a photo and returned to the registers where the other female worker proceeded to ring me up with the guy next to her at the neighboring cash register. "$19." I showed her the photo and she was confused. Looking at the wood, she scanned the 2 barcodes that were on there. "Oh." They scanned the wrong one. One is white and one is yellow. Not one, but 2 workers were going to charge me more than double the price at almost $20 for an item that was $8 - which by the way, is already overpriced. Is this training? I feel if the training was more efficient and better explained, these issues could have be avoided. Is it the workers? Now, if the customer doesn't notice, they've just charged the customer who knows how much extra! And what happens if you notice after the fact? The question is: why should the customer have to keep track of the price and which barcode is to be scanned? Why can't the workers?

Over the past year, they changed paint suppliers, and on multiple visits no one in the paint department knew how to mix paint. We ended up showing employees how to use the computer ourselves. A few months ago, we even showed the manager. Today, on a Saturday, we stopped in for our usual five gallons of a standard off-the-shelf color, only to be told by that same manager that there was no one working who could mix paint and that we should come back another day. The paint department is one of the largest departments in the store, yet they can't reliably mix paint during a weekend. After years of putting up with it, this was our final visit.

Brian was hugely helpful. I've liked Benjamin Moore paints…read morefor a while. I work in an industry that requires paint selection quite often! And after multiple years of struggling with various whites by Sherwin Williams, I really learned that Benjamin Moore has some of the purest whites in the game. So when it came time to repair the house, I knew I wanted to use Benjamin Moore. I selected a number of paint colors ahead of my store visit that I was either familiar with or discovered online but Brian was such a help in identifying the swatch cards for me and talking me through how the paints might appear on the wall. For instance, I frequently use Chantilly lace, but he let me know it might come across as quite sterile if used throughout a room so it's better to use on the trim only. Just that level of information was so helpful in assessing and discussing the various colors we were considering! I'm really excited with the paint selections we made and to see how they translate onto the walls. I felt really informed, listened to and advised by Brian. He spoke with me and my husband about the sheens which I thought I knew a bit about, but I ended up feeling quite ignorant after learning more so again he added value. He also discussed with me the various levels of paint quality offered by Benjamin Moore, which was super informative, and I didn't realize there was that number of options available! I think we're going with the scuffex by Ben as it's more durable and less prone to dings and blemishes. All in all, this was a great experience. They do offer more than just Benjamin Moore paint colors as well. I noticed they carried farrow and ball as well as some others.

I have been going to Ace since I was literally a kid with my grandpa when we lived in Pedley, CA…read more (Riverside, CA.). I always loved going there and looking at all the different options for home repair. Since moving out this way, the only options to go to an ACE hardware is either Van Nuys or Thousand Oaks -- so I started going to DIY as it has an ACE environment type feel and if they didn't have what I needed it was off to the big home improvement stores/warehouses. With all that in mind, I was very excited when I saw that Ace was opening here. I went in with my son during the soft opening and he was beyond excited. We walked up and down every aisle in the place and he would ask m questions and if there was an employee nearby -- he would ask them questions. They were awesome in directly speaking with him. This morning, I looked at all the different purchases I have made there since they opened and realized that I have not once written a Yelp review for them. So here it is. Ace has a great selection of different brands and knowledgeable sales staff. I truly feel that I am valued as a customer there and enjoy the small mom and pop shop environment the store provides. I have bought a wide range of gardening equipment, electrical supplies, tools, bbq equipment and supplies, lawn decorations, plumbing supplies, and just about anything else I have needed. I have felt the pricing is reasonable considering that the time I would have to spend driving to Thousand Oaks to a big home improvement store to save somewhere between a few dollars, the gas, trying to find someone to help me find what in need, and the time wasted that I can do my project. The fact is, Ace is convenient, quick, friendly, efficient service, reasonably priced, great selections, and extremely helpful employees. I do want to give a shoutout to Kim, David, and Nick for helping me on May 23, 2026 on locating the correct replacement chainsaw blade, chains, fuels, and bar and chain oil for my older gas powered Craftsman chainsaw. I wish the survey code on the receipt was useful for at least 1 week after a purchase. Perhaps your regional manger can get that surgery time extended as I would have gladly done it. I set the receipt down at home and forgot about it until early this morning as I have been so focused on cutting down those trees. The good news is, I'll be in today to buy more fuel and a couple more chains AND I will do the survey in the store this time. Thanks again for being so friendly and helpful.

Grand opening is April 25-27 and, rumor has it (which I absolutely didn't hear), the whole store might be 20% off. You didn't hear it from me--unless it is, then I totally told you so.
