My daughter's car was towed from a UC Sacramento apartment complex by Ace in the Hole Towing. The tow driver illegally unlocked her vehicle and entered it. They said it was to release the parking brake. As I know it if the vehicle is locked and parking brake is engaged the car should have been put on a wheel dolly. Terrible. They showed up at a fender bender and could not tell us how much it would cost to store the vehicle or the daily rate even though we asked. They said that our insurance would cover it and not to worry. One week later it's $1100. Also, insurance said most companies will release the vehicle to insurance with a claim # and over the phone but ACE would not and required us to go to their office. They need to clearly state the up front fees and it would be more helpful to have printed material handy for customers. $700 to tow it and $420 for storage fees. Terrible experience. read more

The tow truck driver took the picture after he backed it into the wrong spot. So that he could say that it was in the wrong spot. I asked the residents that use the spot if they called it in to be towed. Both people said they did not call. The office also said that they didn't tell the tow company to tow it. Before they would release it they harassed me into changing my rating . I believe that this is the most underhanded towing company in the area. I wouldn't recommend them ever. This place just comes in and takes people car from the apartment parking lot! Usually you'll need someone to authorize it before taking but I spoke to the Manager and he claimed he didn't call for any towing so that means this towing truck just comes in and tow car! They also charged really expensive and that include the gate fee which is $117 plus overnight when they took my car late then so that's how they add all these ridiculous charge and when I called them if I could pick it up right away they say that I will still have to pay even more because it's clock out hours and now the maintenance guy will have to come and meet me at the tow location! Sacramento police department or whomever needs to look into this company because there is a reason why there is so many bad reviews. They also told me to call 30 min before heading there in which I did and I ended up waiting for 1 hour. It was not during rush hour so there is no excuse on traffic delays. read more

The tow truck drivers that work here are assholes. My car was towed and I got to the place before my car even arrived there yet was charged storage. I know this because I called first and was told the driver was still out with my vehicle. I took another car to the site and watched them arrive with my vehicle. I immediately went to the office to pay and get my car. After all the fees (gate fee, storage fee, towing fee, etc.) It came $525 for a 6 mile tow, most of which was storage that I never used. There were other people in line waiting to get their vehicles as well and the drivers seemed to enjoy arguing with them about signs and fees. Really just a poor operation all around. I won't be surprised if there's a class action lawsuit against this place soon. read more

Within 5 minutes of calling the company I got a call back from Paul. 15 minutes later he shows up. I did have some issues with paperwork on my end proving I was the owner of my parking spots, but he explained to me what I need to do for future incidents and most importantly helped me fix the issue. They came, that's the good part. After a driver was sent to me though they were redirected to a more urgent need (law enforcement) and I waited for a replacement.
