Would not recommend. I have been twice now because the first time I had a necklace clean and a clasp replaced and the service was good with quick turn around time but the price was a little high. I went back a second time to get two links taken out of my watch. We did not discuss a price prior because the guy said he would just take care of it since I had just paid a hefty amount for the other repairs. When I picked up my watch he told me that it was going to be $40 now because he had to take it to a separate place in mission Viejo. I asked for that places name and a receipt number because I noticed scratches on my watch. He would not tell me the name of the other place or give me any kind of receipt. I asked many times about it and he would not give me an answer. I wanted to know because they had scratched my watch and wanted to follow up with them. I told the guy working here and he said that I had scratched it. However I could not have scratched since I had only ever worn the watch at the jewelry story when sizing it. Overall, sketchy vibes. I brought in a new setting for that my Gramma (lab created diamond from her ashes) was set a bit too high in to have the diamond lowered. I've never left a piece of jewelry overnight without filling out an insurance form of estimated cost in the event that something goes wrong--loss, damage, etc. The setting was so incredibly beautiful and picked out by my boyfriend. 1) I wasn't given a quote; 2) it took a week and was outsourced; 3) the interior hallmark stamps of "750 18k" is gone when I didn't ask for resizing or polishing. It was honestly 3 days old from the original jeweler and close to work that I thought for convenience sake and the 4-star review, give them a try. I've never been so disappointed and heart-broken. I took it to another jeweler to have assessed after cooling off for a few hours, and I was literally told that it would not be worth it to repair the damage already done as to have to recreate then weld on new prongs wouldn't hold up as strong as when it was originally crafted in fluid solid piece. That jeweler suggested the best option, considering how upset I was, was to just sell the setting and get a new one due to the atrocity done to this setting and, because I already have negative associations to the ring, I would always look at it in spite rather than admiration. I did just call this shop regarding the work done, and I was told to bring it in so they can remedy it. No, thanks. Not after this poor workmanship, not after the tears. read more

I've used this jeweler several times over the last couple years for ring sizing (I have super small fingers) and jewelry repair. This is a small family owned jeweler, owned by a really cute aging couple. They are very reasonably priced which I like. The shop is located in a small strip mall next to Rite Aid off of Harbor and Adams across the street from Target. It's a little bit hard to get out of the parking lot due to the traffic on Harbor, but not too bad if you time it right. Inside is quite small, it does have a security gate in which you need to get buzzed in. Last year I took a bunch of jewelry to the shop including multiple rings that needed sizing. Several of those rings I've had for years, but never got around to getting them sized correctly. They did a great job sizing the rings and they all fit perfectly. After I brought them home and wore them over the next two weeks, a very small chip diamond fell out and was lost. I noticed it and returned back to the shop. Now I've had this ring for nine years and never had any diamonds fall out. Although the diamond was minuscule in size, they charged me for the replacement diamond. I was a little irked, but I do like supporting local family business over large chain stores, so I paid for it. I didn't return to the store till just recently, mainly because I didn't have a need. Stopping by to get my husband's ring sized, I'm a little confused now on their store hours. They've reduced their hours opened on specific days to 1-5pm on Wed,Sat, Sun. However the sign on the door doesn't state this clearly so going by a couple times now, I've missed them or was too early. I was massively overcharged here and would NOT recommend it to anyone because the owner lacks integrity with regard to repairs. I am also concerned that he couldn't tell that my necklace had cheap enamel and beads, not precious stones. I brought in two necklaces with sterling silver chains: one had one link broken and the other had two-three links broken. The first necklace I had bought for $28 dollars from Macy's and the 2nd necklace I had bought for $24 at Stella and Dot. I have had them for around 5 years each and used to get them repaired yearly from a store in Newport Beach at Fashion Island that repaired the links while I waited, sometimes overnight because they were backed up, but it only cost $19 each or $38 tops for two because it only took them 10 mins or 30 mins max to fix. Last summer, I moved from Corona del Mar, Newport Beach to Costa Mesa, Mesa Verde, and thought that I'd give this local place ACE Jewelry a shot since I'd seen some good reviews about it. The owner of Ace was very kind and acted professional. I admit to you that it is MY FAULT that I didn't ask him the price that it would be for repairs before I left them with him. I think I assumed his prices wouldn't be more expensive than a high-end luxury jewelry store in Newport Center. I really should have negotiated the price before I left - just a tip for everyone! When I came back a week later to pick them up, he rang me up for $221.80 (that's right - 221 dollars and 80 cents!) and at that point he had already processed my card. I let him know that I did not agree with the price, and he said, "You know, it's like doing maintenance on your car! You pay 2000 for it and have to pay 1500 maintenance on it sometimes.", I said, "But you know, these necklaces were only around 30 each." He said, "Well, yes, but that's life!" As I walked out, I thought about what he had said about saying that I had lovely "stones" that were set in these necklaces, and thought, wow, if he did not know the difference between stones and cheap beads, that's pretty bad. Also, let's say that he works at $40 an hour, that would mean that he spent near 6 hours repairing 3-4 links on a sterling silver chain necklace. When a luxury jewelry company in Newport Beach can repair these links in 30 mins and cost near 1/8th the price, that says something. I have ZERO respect for this shop and its owner, and I would not recommend it to anyone for reasons of INTEGRITY, which is really important to me and relationships. Perhaps COVID did a number on him and he is looking to recoup money back, which I can understand to a degree, but EVERYONE is still broken from COVID and we're all trying to move on and do life together. Lack of integrity in one's work is the worst way to engage with people and it is terrible service. All I know is that I am going back to Newport Beach for the luxury service with my jewelry at 1/8th the cost of what this guy is charging because at least they are HONEST. Sorry, ACE. read more

I took a pendant in to have it fixed. I happened the take the chain that it was on and was asked if I wanted to have it cleaned (of course!). I was surprised that the work couldn't be done but didn't mind leaving it for a few days. When I got the call that it was ready to be picked up, I was told $60 (for something that I expected in the $20 range). When I picked up pendant/chain, I asked why it was so expensive and was told that they replaced a clasp on the chain. Maybe they did or maybe the didn't (I didn't notice a problem before I took it in) but they never called to get permission to do that work. Also, the pendant WAS NOT fixed, and then he fixed it while I was standing there. I went there because of the good reviews. I took my pearls necklace here for repair and I have to admit the owners were very sweet and polite. I got it back the very next day for a really cheap price $25. I believe they do same day clean as well. Lot of parking and very easy to get access to, it's on Harbor blvd and Baker. It's actually next to the Russian market (Behind Rite Aid) From the outside looks like they are close. I was looking for a wedding band to match my custom engagement ring, and although they did not have anything in the store, they were able to custom make a matching band! A husband-and-wife who run the store are wonderful people and passionate about jewelry! They put me at ease about what I needed. I felt that I was in good hands and, without hesitation, put down the deposit for the custom band. I went to pick it up about two weeks later, and was over the moon with the quality of the ring! Ada took some liberation and changed the design/specifications that I had asked for.
