I am writing this review for my Uncle. Terrible service ... They lied about what was covered, and then take their share (TWENTYFIVE [25%] PERCENT!!!!!!) of agreed upon settlement, prior to you getting all of your money. After you satisfy your responsibilities as a homeowner, you end up getting less than the stated amount ACE doesn't return the portion that exceeded the 25%. Which ends up being more than their share. Afterwards, my uncle called on numerous occasions to get a prorated refund, he was ignored and the receptionist would state the owner wasn't in. She mentioned he would be in the next day. The next day my uncle decided to meet the owner face to face, watched him arrive, and when my uncle went in.. she said he wasn't there!!! Eventually, they ended up claiming that they weren't going to return the money owed! I will make sure to NEVER refer this company... TO ANYONE! If you do choose to use them... record everything with your phone so you have proof (If they don't let you record their "Legal assessment", then you should question their motives), get a copy of everything you sign... and ALWAYS READ AND UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE GETTING INTO! This company stole my money. I had a claim initiated in September 2018, I have not received anything to date (January 2019). They do not answer the phones at the office so it is impossible to get in contact with anyone. There is clearly check fraud being committed by these scammers because they are signing clients names when depositing these checks. I know this because I have worked in the banking industry for 15+ years. I had the BBB involved and they could not get in contact with anyone in the office either, over a two week timeframe. I have been given no choice but to refer this matter to my attorney after reading all of the similar reviews. read more

I used this company and it was a Big Mistake. The owner spent more time patting himself on the back about how wonderful he is and how much the insurance companies LOVE Him. He even told me that the only reason I was getting anything for my damage was because they LOVE Him. I did have to refile my claim on the advise of my agent since not all the damage was even listed after the owner / manager of ACE changed the claim, they told me not to worry about it since it is not covered anyway, well it was covered. We all had a good laugh when I explained how they do business, but I am still upset that I even had to pay Ace ONE CENT for the work they did. The office staff are just as bad and defend the owner even when he is playing games, and they can be very rude. I cannot figure out how they stay in business. Since my experience with them I have heard of some real horror stories (and some very funny) about other claims and the people at this company. Before going to an adjuster do your home work on claims, if you have a decent insurance company and agent you may not even need an adjuster and that is money in your pocket for the work needed, not theirs. But if you need an adjuster, usually for larger claims, it is a good idea to be familiar with the terms and how the process works and stay on top of the adjuster. Hopefully my experience will save others money and problems, especially with ACE. read more

My wife made the mistake of using an adjuster in the 1st place; if you do use this company, make sure it's the owner who works your case, not one of his lackeys, as a lot of them used to work for the very same insurance companies that won't pay your home-owners claim, & are a little too "buddy-buddy" w/ them for my taste. We had storm damage on our roof, filed a claim in Oct, & it was still not resolved by February of the next year. I told the owner to stop all proceedings, as his lackeys wouldn't or couldn't get results, & paid for my roof damage out-of-pocket . I then just simply gathered all my evidence & filed a lawsuit against my home-owner insurance company in small claims court, & w/in a week I was contaced by a lawyer from my insurance company, & got a settlement check for what I needed to pay for my roof repairs, which is all I wanted in the 1st place. My mother used ACE public adjuster almost 25 years ago and got great service. When she had damage from an ice storm in February 2014, she chose the same company because of their longstanding name in the community. What she got in return was mismanagement of her case, unreturned phone calls and emails and a screaming match with President Tony Hoffman. Ace was unresponsive to my mother's frequent calls for updates on her case. For 6 months she waited for updates and her case worker would never return her calls. Every time she would send an email the case worker was "out in the field", she had no idea what Allstate had offered her and later found out that Ace refused the first insurance payout offer without telling her or even letting her review the offer. Finally a month ago after repeated attempts for contact with her caseworker, fed up with the lack of customer service, she met with the president who promised her better treatment, apologized for his staff member and told her that she needed yet another appraisal (4 months after the damage was done) to get more money from all state. At that point my mother said she did not want another appraisal and just wanted the case settled with whatever she could get. She asked for copies of the original insurance offer and wanted to think it over. That paperwork was never sent to her. Tony Hoffman never called her again. An entire month went by with no updates and no paperwork sent. My mother repeatedly called Ace and the president and no calls were retuned. Finally after repeated attempts to set up a meeting, she showed up to the office yesterday asking for a meeting with Tony to find out why she was being ignored and why her repeated attempts for copies of her paperwork were not given. Tony refused to met with her or even invite her into his office. He told her that without an appraisal she "tied his hands" and there was nothing he could do for her anymore. He went on to say that she needed to get it "through her head" that she only gets more money if she does another appraisal. She reminded him that she refused the appraisal a month prior and just wanted finalize the case as is. Since Ace gets 25% of what is offered, it's very clear to me that they are trying to hold my mother's case ransom for their payout. Even if an appraisal would have been the best avenue for a resolution, why did Ace refuse to speak with her? why was her paperwork not sent to her as requested? Why is the customer service level at Ace so poor that homeowners feel trapped and confused about the status of their own cases? When my mother stood up for herself , told him her complaints regarding the lack of communication, Tony Hoffman stated that he "doesn't argue with women", ended her contract with Ace, gave her the original payout check that she could have been given back in March, and told her has done with her. I am shocked at the way she was treated by the president. He berated her and ignored her even after admitting that her case was mistreated a month prior. They don't know the meaning of customer service. I hope no more customers are mistreated the way my mother was. Tony Hoffman and his staff are discriminatory, they are not interested in closing your case quickly and efficiently, they only care about sticking it to your insurance company to better their 25% payout in the end. read more

They don't even deserve one star. I hired Ace Adjusters to take the frustration out of the devastation from a flood I had in February. They came in and assured me that they would take care of everything and handle the matter quickly. It is the end of April and not only is this matter not close to being resolved, it has been more time consuming and stressful. I've gotten the run around for weeks and was even lied to about where the settlement check was sent. I should have known this was not a customer-focused company because the initial meeting involve my being told to stay upstairs during the "consultation" and "thorough review of my damages" with the insurance adjuster and they didn't know that the floors are so thin that I heard the entire conversation and none of it had anything to do with the loss and damages I incurred as a result of the flood. It was simply two ole pals chatting on my dime. In addition, they sent me a settlement form to sign without a breakdown of the items. Their focus is indeed on the check and not on the consumer. I don't care if they are money hungry, but I do care that I did not get good service. They did not deliver what they promised. I wish I would have done further research. read more

As well as his staff. He stole 50k from me and I had to go to court to get get only a fraction back. It was less than half of what I was supposed to receive because of all the money I had to put out in attorneys fees just to go to court. He LIED to the judge and actually had the gall to blame the 14 month delay on a personal medical issue even though he received checks from my insurance company two weeks after the damages happened to my home. He has a girl in the office that forges your signatures and the way they get around it is by using an automated checking machine in the bank drive through!! No one ever gives you answers and when you actually talk to him on the phone he curses at you and threatens you. - Over a year later I was still attending court for this mess. In a terrible situation where I was left homeless due to damages I turned to Ace for help so I focus on other aspects but Anthony Hoffman insinuated the about absolute worst and threatened to never pay me. Well, he followed through because I had to hire an attorney and take him to court. Please do not use this company, you will greatly regret it. The Pennsylvania Department of Insurance (who they report to) is actively investigating this company and is hopeful to shut them down by mid 2018. read more

Can you give zero? Been two months. My insurance sent them check a month ago but we have not seen anything. Keep being told it was mailed out but I find that hard to believe. We live at most a days mail delivery away. Philly to NJ?? Not a week mail delivery. I mail bills to west coast that get there in 3 days. Very poor customer service; rude staff; lack of communication. Not only did this company not communicate with me, they did not act proactively on my behalf. My adjuster failed to return my calls in a timely manner and it usually took multiple calls to get a call back. They basically waited for the insurance company to take action. This was a fairly minor claim that took over FIVE months to complete. Most of the staff who answered the phones were not helpful at all and were, in several instances, rude; there was only one receptionist who was willing to find me answers when my adjuster was not available.When I was finally able to speak with my adjuster's supervisor, the supervisor simply kept defending the adjuster and would not allow me to fully express my concerns, talking over me and basically making me feel like my concerns did not matter to any of them. At the end of that final conversation, the "owner" promised to forward the last check (for only a few hundred dollars) directly to me and not take their fee in order to make up for some of their poor service, but, shockingly, when the check was received, they had, indeed, taken a fee again, which was obviously in direct conflict with what was promised to me. It's pretty sad when the owner of a company will not even attempt to treat his customers with respect and even worse when he flat out lies to a customer. I would not even give them 1 star if I didn't have to. ACE is terrible DO NOT USE THEM. My husband and I hired them in September and our insurance company sent them our settlement check in October. We are now going into the New Year and we still have NOT received our check from ACE. We call and leave messages and no one ever calls us back. We have went up to the office and my husband was told by the manager Tony that he would get back to him and that never happened. I finally spoke to someone and was told to come pick up the check that Friday anytime after 12pm well I did that and of course no one was in the office. I went back the following Friday and again not a soul was there. I have been calling and leaving messages and nothing. At this point we have asked our insurance company to investigate where the check is and please stop payment so a new check can be issued to us. This company is full of scam artist and they need to be shut down. Please believe the reviews and RUN the other way it will save you so much stress and frustration. I have to agree with the 5 previous posters (look for ones dated before this). My in-laws had a house fire and hired ACE after a recommendation from a friend, and from being scared from horror stories about dealing with insurance companies. I don't have time to go into all the details, but their experience has just been plain awful. There are countless times that no one answers the phone, not even the "emergency 24 hour line" and conveniently, the voicemail is always full. Getting someone to get back to them is a nightmare. It took 4 months of their house sitting in the water from the firefighters (and their belongings getting moldy) for any numbers to be given to them, as well as a check to get started with demo. Once started, the final payout number had still not been finalized and ACE had to be pushed and pushed to set meetings and get things done. When the reconstruction began, the amount they had been told kept changing, and it wasn't until 4 months into building that ACE mentioned that the mortgage company would need to inspect before any more money would be released. Of course, the mortgage company wanted to see different things than were being worked on, and this caused a major SNAFU with the building process. The money that was being released from the mortgage company to ACE was then given out to the contractor in very small amounts, much too small to even pay off the subcontractors working on things like drywall & flooring, let alone have any money to order materials in advance. It was a poor set up all around. Poor communication, poor management, poor insight into what has to happen next, poor customer service. Because of this experience, I have been telling my friends to not even bother hiring any public adjuster, and certainly not this one. read more

There are no benefits of hiring Ace Public Adjusters. They benefit, by charging you 30% of your settlement. They do not tell you anything, I still don't even know what they submitted on my claim and have no idea how much they claimed in damages. When I ask any questions, I don't get a straight answer. I caught them in a complete lie. I asked them if they received all the information I faxed to them. I couldn't believe when they responded by saying "yes we received your information and submitted it already to the insurance company". Really? Because I never faxed it. I thought I was getting the run around, but now I know I am. I would of been better off submitting the damages myself. My insurance company told me when I first filed the claim they did not need to send anyone out to my home, all I had to do was fill out a property damage form and send it back. Well once Ace got involved, my insurance company then decided they needed to come out and see the damages. Of course by this time 8 weeks has past and the house was cleaned and repaired. I would have left the house the way it was but since my insurance told me they only needed the report and pictures. If we get anything from this claim I will be very surprised. The only good thing is if we don't get anything for the settlement neither does Ace Adjusters. Please do not use this company. If you have damage or a theft to your personal property you are already dealing with a lot of stress, which is why I hired them. The last thing you need is more stress from a company that is basically stealing your money. Does it yourself, save yourself the 30% if you don't agree with the offer from your insurance company you do have options, and please explore them. It will be worth the extra time. read more

Ace public adjusters are the ABSOLUTE WORSE. I have been in customer service management for well over 25 years and never have I been treated more rudely by a business throughout my career. I hired ACE in January of this year and here it is September and my claim has still not been handled. My insurance company will not speak with me because I hired ACE and aCE will not contact the Insurance company so I'm in limbo. I was promised return phone calls from Kevin Doughtery as well as the President of the company Tony Hoffman, I'm still waiting for over 3 months. Every time I call them Annie states they are not in and she will pass the message along. Tony Hoffman and his staff are a DISGRACE and need to be out of business. I do not know where my claim is at this point or if I will ever receive payment to fix the damage to my house.
