Came here for a stop by. Great place to have a good quality drink before going to a concert. Many exclusive bourbon and scotch options if you're into that.

2 flights. Bourbon was our favorite ( starts Jack Bonded) and then Scotland. 2 very different tastes, we had enough for three people

Cozy spot to try a WIDE variety of Whiskey. Three of us went and ordered two flights. This worked out perfect. We had enough for each of us to taste all 8 samples without feeling like we had too much since we were already full from dinner and walking home. The bourbon flight was our favorite. Very smooth. The Tour of Scotland was good but you need to like your whiskey with more bite for this flight. The last one really burns, lol. Very nice ambiance, if it wasn't so late we would have hung out longer. The only thing I would have preferred is if someone came over and explained the whiskeys, like when you do a wine tasting. I've heard they do this but it didn't happen the night I went.

Cute bar with friendly staff and good drinks. I really enjoyed the sangria drink special.

Really impressed with this bar! They have 4 different rooms perfect for large gatherings! Right when you walk in you see the bar with a few tables then the outdoor area in between the private room and side lounge with games to play! Happy hour is everyday 3pm to 6pm and you can reserve area with up to 20 guests for free! They also have a few drinks with little characters which I really love since I don't see that often! Highly recommend this bar for a good time for any occasion!

ACME Bar in its entirety and the always cool staff are so very much underrated. Just like El Patio across the street. Berkeley gems definitely worth exploring for the friendly spirited. Especially those adventurous Cal attendees with enough courage and curiosity to dare venture beyond Shattuck.

Even during a power outage you get the best from Camille! Knocking out cocktails like it ain't no thang!

Super cute place! They have an outdoor area with fire pits and numerous heaters so you don't get too cold. They also hold private events here which is nice. The staff are friendly and follow vaccine mandates. They allow outside food too and they're located by some great eateries! It's a win-win situation. Parking was easy as we came on a weekday evening. It's street parking on San Pablo, though, so it's a busy street. I'm definitely coming back and enjoying their outdoor seating. And will recommend for private events.

ACME never lets me down 1 Female owned 2. Amazing bourbon-based and whiskey drinks 3. Outdoor Heated patio 4. Great service 5, most importantly - I love their new specialty cocktails and walk up window that started during COVID in 2020.... well mixed, well flavored, and sometimes you just want to do a quick drive by, get a cocktail and go home or wherever . My fave is the Spring flower (vodka , strawberries etc)

We've always gone to Acme for a neighborhood nightcap so when it came time to throw a milestone birthday party I could think of no better place. Jennifer was amazing and so flexible! She embraced the sparkle theme by throwing edible glitter in the punch bowls. I wanted a taco bar and oysters, and that's what I got. All my guests were raving about the space (back room + patio). Highly recommend for any private event!

LOVE this place. The cocktails are the S**T! Super tasty, filling and some real mixology going on. This place makes you feel okay with paying the high price for a Bay Area cocktail. My favorites are the spring flowers and elder scrolls. Yes they're a little fruity but trust me you'll still get the bees buzzing. I've never tried them, but my wife LOVES their daiquiris. I don't know because of COVID, but one year my wife threw a birthday party for me in the back. It was for 40+ and just the perfect place to host a party.

THIS IS A GREAT BAR. one of the best I ever been to. Their food is so good, I am still thinking about their prawn street tacos and the prawn flatbread. I wish I had some right now! I can taste it in my mouth, oh lord. They have one of the BEST BARTENDERS EVER, her name is Adela, I hope I am spelling that correctly. She was so beautiful, she had long beautiful dread locks. We talked and she was very welcoming her and Nicholas who birthday was a day before mines, he was so cool. They made sure we had everything we needed and our drinks was to our likings, she was very very informative about our drinks, what was in it, and she even had great detail to the things we wanted/looking for in our drinks. I still can not get off how good the food was. This place is a VIBE, period. Music was on POINT! and its very cute and I LOVE THE HUGE OPEN window, wish I got a pic of it. It wasn't loud, ghetto or dirty, just a nice place to vibe, have a very good drink and great food. I can not wait to come back and see you guys, EVERYONE PLEASE CHECK THEM OUT. 1000/10. For our drinks, I had the Moonlight Blossom, my aunt had a glass of red wine, and my mom had a cucumber mint spritzer (mocktail as she was the DD). The moonlight blossom tasted similar to cherry limeade. The entrees we had were the mussels, veggie burger, and the chef's market pizza. The mussels themselves were tasty and appreciated that they were able to leave out the chorizo. However, I wish that they brought a spoon and there was more broth. I tried some of my mom's veggie burger and the red color from the beets made it stand out from the usual veggie burger. The fries tasted homemade. I had a slice of the pizza and while I like the ingredients themselves, the combination just didn't do it for me. The crust was good though! We also shared a green goddess salad, which was tasty. The desserts looked amazing but we had no room! Service was friendly and our waitress made good recommendations. Can park on the side streets or the garage. Restaurant was not noisy. The food also came out pretty quickly. The presentation of the pizza was top notch and I could not wait to dig in. The portion size was adequate. The vegan cheese was yummy and the spice level of the pizza was just right. The pizza was packed with flavor and thin crust! My friend liked the shakshouka too. I'm absolutely blown away. I was surprised about how good everything was. Might have been the best…read morefood I've had this year. My family ordered 1 appetizer, 4 entrees, and 2 drinks, all shared, and all 4 of us agreed that EVERY single item was phenomenal. That has absolutely NEVER happened before. At most restaurants, there's always at least one thing that someone doesn't like, and often multiple things that multiple people don't like. Not the case here. The appetizer was the spicy basil wings. Very good to start. But little did I know what was coming my way. The drinks were Thai tea and lychee limeade. The Thai tea was normal. As in good, I liked it. The lychee limeade was amazing, had to order another one. I would like to try the mango next time (there will definitely be a next time). Very sour, which I love. I hate lemonade that's not sour enough. Oh and that too, I usually hate limeade, don't really care for lemonade, and don't drink soda. I usually only drink water, juice, or tea (no coffee, alcohol rarely). So that's saying something. The Laos fried spring roll entree was really good. I always liked fried rolls but something about this tasted better. They were Laotian rolls, so maybe that was part of the difference from the ones you get from Pho restaurants. The duck over rice was amazing. I'm not usually one to pick duck, I don't mind it but I usually don't order it, but this was my mom's choice and it was really good. I like the sauce too. The Panang duck curry was so good. My mom doesn't even like curry and she liked it. And the Chiang Mai soup dish, I've never had anything like it. It was still hot after, I don't know, 20 minutes maybe? At the bottom especially. We all ate this together at the end, while the other dishes were in the order I listed them for myself (mostly, kinda switched around a bit eating family style), and generally the same for everyone else. I tasted a tiny bit of the soup in the beginning and thought it was nothing special, like when my spoon was clean it was the first thing I scooped. Only the soup though, none of the stuff inside. Honestly I didn't read what was in it, some crispy noodle or something. I was not sure if I would like it but my sister said she had it in Thailand and liked it so if I didn't like it she could eat it. That ended up not being a problem. Okay so anyway, we started on the soup at the end. To start, it was pretty good. Somehow, every bite we took tasted better and better, for at least like 5-10 bites maybe. At that point, I was thinking it's the best thing I've ever tasted. (But of course that's probably not actually true, and I'm just falling for the recency bias, kind of like how my favorite song changes all the time.) Never had anything like it. I've been missing out. But wow, I have to come back. And I highly recommend this place. Life changing experience honestly. Like if you asked me right now if I wanted to get Japanese or Korean (my other favorites) food or this, I would go here. I honestly wanted more of every single dish, especially the fried spring rolls, duck over rice, duck curry, and soup. Wait a second... that's all the entrees we ordered! Also the limeade. I need to get that again. But I also want to try other stuff next time so I'm torn. I literally need all 4 of these dishes again so I don't know what to do. I hope these dishes aren't seasonal or otherwise temporary. I noticed the menu had a month and year listed (I think it said April 2026 and it's May 3 2026 today) so I believe they update it frequently. If I lived closer I would come 20 times in a row and try every single thing, but unfortunately I live in San Ramon so it's not like I'm trying to go to Oakland every day. Soon though. My sister lives there, if I were her I would go here every day until I was sick of it, if that could ever be possible. I don't know if I could ever enjoy other food this much again. I was also completely sober so it wasn't like I had munchies or anything (felt I should specify being a young adult who grew up in California). Hmm, that gives me an idea for the future though. Even the pricing is fair (no dishes over $30), and the place is nice. Great service too. The only drawbacks are small tables for parties over 4 people, and it's REALLY loud in the restaurant, but well worth it. If you are sensitive to noise I'd recommend earplugs, earmuffs, earbuds, headphones, or something. The place is also relatively small. I'd recommend making a reservation if you plan to go on a Friday or Saturday night. It got busy, very busy. Well our reservation was at 6 and it wasn't crowded yet, a couple tables open, but by the time our food came out the place was absolutely packed and I think people without reservations had to wait to sit. I'm not sure though, I was too focused on the amazing food to care. Anyway, once again, highly recommend and I will be back.

We got the following : Lao Appetizers Plate - Everything had great texture with the sausage standing out the most to me. Very soft and not too salty. Garlic Pork Spare Ribs - Great flavor, but a little on the dry side. Still tender enough to enjoy. Duck Larb Salad - Bright flavors and everything worked really well together. Recommend adding this to any meal balance out the other fried items. Kao Piak - I find that most places over cook their chickens, but the meats here were cooked perfectly. Broth was a bit salty for me, and I usually like the broth thicker, but still good overall. Mango Sticky Rice - I liked the crispy fried rice bits that added a nice crunch. Mango wasn't quite in season right now, but it was still sweet and soft enough. Overall service was great, and there is a lot of parking in the area. Def recommend checking it out.

Shattuck is full of fun bars to slip into, Tipsea being one of them. I've been here twice, and this…read morewas the first time trying snacks while here besides cocktails. Looking for an in-between spot (a sip and bite before dinner), we cozied up to the bar here for a quick cocktail and bar food snack. We ordered onion rings that came with the choice of a variety of sauces including Tikka Sauce, Siracha Mango, Sweet Chili, Korean BBQ, Hot Honey, and more. Both the cocktails and snacks came timely, and we enjoyed conversation and community chatting with other locals/tourists visiting Berkeley for a short time. The vibes are right in Tipsea and I dig the nautical ambiance/theme/play on words. Worthy of a stop through; street parking on Shattuck/paid garages nearby, but ride-share sometimes easiest for these locations. NA options available and full menu including burgers, a fried chicken sando, seafood options, other bar snacks including Navi's and loaded tots, and dessert.

Berkeley sure was packed this past Saturday, but surprisingly this bar wasn't, though they did have…read morequite a few customers. Prior to arriving I had to circle a bit for parking. After being ambitious for three minutes to find parking, I parked across the street on Durant. My friend and I arrived, were greeted and seated ourselves in one of the booths. Looking at the drink menu we asked for recommendations - I got Lightkeeper's Daughter, which has a nice citrusy taste. Side note but I love when they give us crushed small balls of ice. My friend ordered the Green Lantern, which was very good. I think the fresh Fiji apple juice inside is what made this drink stand out, though it didn't have the slight cider taste that you get from fresh apple juice. It was just good. Drinks get a 5/5. I ordered the truffle burger and good gawd was it delicious. I'd definitely order again. It comes with fries, and I upgraded to the Cajun fries they had. Lemme get back to the burger - I'm not a person who goes crazy for burgers but sometimes I just have that craving for red meat. This burger did not disappoint - the mushrooms were made perfectly and were in each bite of the burger with nothing falling off - you know how sometimes the burger is too stuffed and ingredients start to come off? Not here. 10/5 for the burger. It just might be the best burger I've ever had, no exaggeration. Considering this bar markets themselves as the best bar in Berkeley and I had a really good experience, I'd like to come back and try other drinks and other items off of the menu. I never expected to be wowed by the burger here, but as a fan of truffle I was glad this was on the menu. They have NA beverages and I was tempted to try, especially since my astrological sign is the name of one of the mocktails, but here is my issue. Why are we having NA beverages cost the same as alcohol beverages? It just seems like a rip to me, no matter how well you craft us some juice. Just my opinion, but it's nice they offer NA beverages since more and more people are letting go of the liquor. However, my point still stands. $15 is nuts to me. Have I spent that before at another restaurant/bar before? Sure have, when I wasn't drinking and I've decided that I'd rather opt for water or a Topo Chico if offered. The ambiance here was mellow. Very dark inside so I didn't get great pics of the menu, but the pic of the burger? Good and necessary.
