I took my car to RT Clapp for an oil change and diagnostic checks. They sent me a list of things…read morethat needed to be service; brake flush; engine filter change; and transmission flush. I chose the break flush. when I came to pick up my car the manger told me that they could not get the key to go into the ignition switch. I told him that I never had that problem before. I could not start my car. I was very upset and the manger had the nerve to tell me that it was like that when I brought the car in, which was not true. If that was the case then how come it was not on the service list? He told me that he could try to fix it but that I would have to pay for the parts. Three days later still not fixed. I had to have my car tow to the dealership. On of top that I had black stuff on my tan carpet where the mechanic was trying to fix the ignition switch. Plus, there was a fresh large scratch on the passenger side of my car and he tells me that it was already there before I brought the car in, which was not true. This is the worst experience that I have ever had with a car shop. You drive your car in and have tow it out.

I had gotten stuck the night before due to Snow that we got and although I tried twice to get out, I was not getting anywhere. I told him my son had been unemployed for several months and we needed to keep costs down in repairing his truck since he was selling it. He texted that the truck was ready the next day with a $446 bill!! I told him we did not have that and it was more than the estimate. He just kept saying its an "estimate" which means it can change and he found something else that had to be done to "get it right". In 25 years of having my cars fixed, never has a shop, individual or dealership gone ahead and repaired something else without calling for an approval of the price change over the estimate. NEVER. he would not back down. I called my church for help for the extra money,, but maddox would not take a credit card from the church and said cash only. So my church could not help without a paper trail for their records. He really put me in a bind and if that was not enough IT"S NOT EVEN FIXED right. When we drove off, we began to hear a rattle in the engine that was not there before but we do not trust the guy to take it back to him. DON"T GO here, find someone else with some good reviews.

We have gotten BRAND new BAD parts that had to be removed after being put on, even though they paid or replaced the part itself, out of $705, they reimbursed us $$300.This last time and Jennifer Harmon the Manager and Kevin Branch the Sales person would not communicate in a professional manner. The First time was $1480.40 and we we reimbursed $400. This does not cover the fee for labor and the other charges in replacing the bad part including but not limited to the towing (of 200 miles, one way) and having to make a special trip to pick up my husband and 3 large dogs that were stranded in KY.
