Hello my name is Ashley I just want to say , well start off by saying the ( best ) experience I've had in years out of all the grocery shopping I do for me and my three children and my annoying husband who eats everything up at night but I always get my lunch meats at the deli in acme and there's a gentleman that works there, very tall guy with tattoos I haven't seen before , but two times in the past 3 weeks I have stopped in there and he has made me feel welcomed, he asks me how my days going acknowledges my children just all around well-rounded place and he has made my day each time and it doesn't hurt that he's also handsome I don't know your name but whoever you are keep up the good work and acme needs more people like you !!! Today was Cheep Chicken Monday and they ran out of chicken early before 6 pm when many people are on their way home from work. You advertise available until 8pm but you're a supermarket and you have no chicken in the entire store??? It also doesn't help that the deli staff are NEVER friendly and appear to be bothered when the customers approach. Customer care training is obviously warranted. read more

This used to be a store where you felt the employees genuinely cared about their customers. Unfortunately, that no longer seems to be the case. To begin with, I spend a significant amount of money at this already expensive store, yet I'm charged for every paper bag I use. Other grocery stores take a different approach. For example, Redner's offers reusable bags and provides a credit each time you bring one back. Food Lion doesn't charge for bags at all and often double-bags groceries when needed. These may seem like small things, but they demonstrate appreciation for customers. My biggest concern, however, is the lack of staffed checkout lanes. It seems the expectation is that customers should do the cashier's job by using self-checkout. I understand self-checkout is convenient for some people, but it shouldn't become the only practical option. Yesterday, there were more than a dozen customers waiting in line for self-checkout while only one cashier-operated register was open. When I went to that register, I was told I had to use self-checkout instead. Rather than wait in another long line to check out my own groceries, I left my cart and took my business elsewhere. I understand businesses are looking for ways to reduce costs, but customer service should not suffer as a result. Many of us choose where to shop based on the overall experience, not just the products on the shelves. I hope you'll reconsider your approach to customer service by opening more checkout lanes, giving customers a choice between cashier service and self-checkout, and finding ways to show appreciation for the people who support your business. I'd like to shop here again, but only if it once again feels like customers truly matter. read more

The store is fine, the employees are nice but the digital coupons are not only horrible but they discriminate against people who do not use technology! So you have to work before you go into the store with these horrible digital coupons but once in the store they have these stupid bar codes you have to scan if you want additional discounts! I have an android, so it doesn't work. Horrible! Get rid of these disgusting digital coupons! read more

I come here frequently to shop and they are always out of stock on the things I need. The deli counter is a hit or miss. They have some friendly and some that I completely avoid because of how I've been treated in the past. Overall I only shop here when I need a few things, never for my actual grocery shopping. 3/5 read more

I bought an Italian hoagie to take to the beach and it was lacking meat. It was just a sandwich. If you took the meat from half and added it to the other half, you'd have a half of a good hoagie. It was 6 bucks with a dollar off so 5 bucks when a half a pound of lunch meat costs that much but there wasn't enough meat to taste. It was all roll no flavor. read more

I placed an online order for delivery at 1:07. I picked 6-8:00 as a time listed to be delivered. I received email that I had up until 2:00 to make changes. I also received text that my order would be processed soon. At 5:03 I received text that an associate was shopping and my order was on track. At 7:21 I called to make sure my order was still coming. Customer service desk that my order would NOT be coming because they do NOT do deliveries at that time and that department closes at 6:00. Why is that time offered on their website if NOT available? Why did NO one call me or notify me that they could NOT make that delivery? Why did I have to contact them? I did get a text AFTER I called saying my order was delayed but if that department was closed at that time...who sent that email? Bad customer relations and bad customer service! read more

Not sure why they aren't doing more for COVID 19 precautions. No one is wiping the carts down and the cashiers are not cleaning the belts and wiping down in between customers. Also, the produce dept is really lacking. I expect more from Acme. Sad. read more

Recently left a negative review that prompted a response from acme, anyway we actually returned here on our way to a bbq at a friends house, decided to purchase some cinnamon rolls and a small cake to take as our contribution. Rolls we're stale cake was ok, once again there were no shopping carts in the store as they were all in the parking lot, since we only had two items it was no big deal to carry them but shopping carts would have been nice. Once again only one register open so used the self checkout, needed a bag so I'm indicating to the gentleman monitoring the self checkout that I need a bag, he was to busy on his cell phone talking, so I retrieved my own bag. Not having bags at self checkout is very annoying, protecting your 5 cent bags is a stupid policy. Your employees are rude and act as if your asking for a personal favor. My expectations are minimal Acme, carts-I don't expect your employees to cater to me, but basic customer service would be nice. I will no longer patronize your store. Your either understaffed or your employees simply don't care. read more

The over all store has pretty much what you need but what they don't have is any good white chocolate so this is for you acme. Dear Acme, please learn to cater to people like me who prefer white chocolate. Thank you, an agrevated coustomer. read more

The bakery staffs attitude is disgusting. Horrible cake job done at the bakery. The writing looks like my baby brother wrote it. We asked if we could get someone else to write it and they gave us an attitude before even understanding the issue. There was another woman there capable of writing in cursive and she denied to redo the job for us. The staff is a joke. So unprofessional. read more

It's really impossible to accurately give a numeric rating to a supermarket, as people shop at supermarkets for various reasons. Is the store close to your home? Are its goods priced reasonably? Is the selection to your liking? Acme's selection clearly caters to the Smyrna crowd. In other words: frozen pizzas, scrapple, and microwave meals have a rather larger proportion of shelf space allocation than they would have in supermarkets elsewhere. A few years back, this Acme tried to expand the international aisle, but then cut back - apparently, the locals weren't biting. Once, I had to do some price comparisons for a particular brand of peanut butter for a business class. I visited Acme, Food Lion, Redner's, and Wal-Mart to check their prices; Acme was by far the most expensive. This trend is generally true of all items in the store. If you're a price-conscious shopper, you will not want to hit up this place. One possible exception would be their "Cheap Chicken (day-of-week)s", where they offer fried chicken for a very reasonable price. I'm sure this item is a hit with both rustic and urban-oriented locals alike. The service in this supermarket is OK, but nothing special. The major draw for this store is its location: it's closer than most other supermarkets to central Smyrna. There's really no other reason for someone with either a more sophisticated palate or anything remotely resembling a grocery budget to shop here. read more

Things are a lot more expensive here compared to the nearby FoodLion or WalMart. Not recommended unless you want to shell out more $$$ for your grocery or ice cream. Stay away. read more

This Acme supermarket can be tough to spot if you're going down US-13 because it's tucked away in the back of a strip mall. It's probably easier to find from E. Glenwood Ave. They have some good specials and, as I discovered, you don't need a store card for some of their store circular coupon deals. The shelves were well-stocked. Service was efficient and good, if a little chatty. read more

I don't know what happened to the bakery department in this store. But its not the same! The pies are burnt and so is the bread. I always like to have soda bread at time of St Patrick's. I couldn't believe that two St. Patrick's in a row they burnt the bread and had them on display!!! It seems to be a problem with the Acme stores in Delaware because the Dover store has fallen deep as well in the bakery department. I certainly hope they get it together because it used to be pretty good at one time but now I don't like it at all. read more

Pretty much a standard grocery store with a good seafood section in the back. Even the west coast variety of crabs are still fresh. The rotisserie chickens and potato salad is good too. I wish there was more of a selection of fresh bread though. read more

This store is steadily going downhill. Now they don't even have Shake N Bake. They claim their warehouse has not carried it and that they have to "special"order it. Even at that they will only be able to get the chicken. Just ridiculous. However, they keep trying to push their "Essential" products, which in my opinion really do not taste as good. read more

Great selection and variety. Best produce around. Food Lion nearby is awful for produce.Seafood department great, lots of healthy items. Prepared foods and meals available. I'm very happy to have such a great store in Smyrna. read more
