Brian Wavra, Acme Tools Ecommerce Manager was extremely helpful with a problem I had with my credit card and after a couple of days dancing with my bank and getting a new card activated, I not only paid for my original purchase, I turned around and purchased more from Acme Tool because they have thousands of products we wood workers need at great prices. On top of great service, I know my items will be packaged properly and won't be damaged when I receive it. And If ever there was a problem, I know for a fact I will NOT have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get problems taken care of because it has already been done right the first time. Do not buy from Acme! What a horrible company to work with. Ordered online a tool, and cancelled minutes later when I realized it wasn't right. Days later I hear it's too late to cancel, and if I refuse the delivery, they will charge me for the shipping! Who does that? Will not provide a return shipping label. Cost is on me! I really wish I would've looked at the review first on this place. You need to run not walk away. In my experience, we bought a $18,000 scissor lift from them brand new for my company and we only purchase it from them because they said it came with a 2 to 3 year warranty that would cover everything . I paid for shipping from them and they had their company loaded up and bring it out to me in California Upon trying to use it within a few minutes, it immediately broke and a part of the machine slipped down out of place that shoukd have been secure and never moved. It's possible this happened in shipping but when I contacted Acme, they told me I was on my own and that I needed to fix it locally in California and they might try to help me pay for it.. But of course after I spent $4500 fixing it, they ghosted me and never even replied to any emails that I sent them . They need to be sued, but they know it's pretty hard since they're in another state, but I might still be able to do it. Avoid ACME Tools at all costs. We bought a 6K riding mower from them and they tried to up-charge us 2K for shipping after the mower was already in transit. When I refused they told me they would not refund my purchase until it was returned by the shipping company. Exorbitant shipping costs are attached after order is placed and there's no way to back out of the order. 8 lbs to Hawaii. $200+ for frt. costs! Fed ex ground. Called Kelly, the supervisor and she was adamant that that's the cost and no adjustment is possible. Would not allow me to speak to a manager and stated that they would just tell me the same thing. I'll never fall into their trap again. Horrible business practice and customer service. UPDATE- within 15 minutes of posting this review, Kelly replied by email that she had refunded the full amount of shipping as a courtesy. Now that wasn't asked for and certainly wasn't expected. I fully was only asking for an adjustment to the over charge; not a refund. Mahalo Kelly, for the generosity. I would however recommend an internal review of fair shipping costs to Hawaii within your company so that this won't happen again. Perhaps a tab that allows ground advantage via USPS as an option. Best advice: stay away from these people! On their website they offered a two pack of the new 8 amp hour power pack DeWalt batteries for $239. It was a good price, so I bought it. No sooner than my credit card went through, I looked at the invoice and they were only sending me one battery. For reference, the price of a single one of these batteries on Amazon is $145. There's no way anyone in there right mind would have bought a single one of these batteries for $239 from these people. They tricked me. The old bait and switch. But I caught it, immediately. So less than 5 minutes after that order went through, I told them to cancel it. They responded by sending me an email telling me it had already shipped. By the time they said that, we were no more than 20 minutes from the second that order went through. Then they started telling me that I could ship it back to them, on my dime, to return it. No, what I'm going to do is cancel the payment through my bank, and they will get nothing. If they do ship that battery, after they have been told not to, they will just be out one battery. But the point is, these people are dishonest. First they bait and switch you, and then they try to lie to you and tell you that they magically shipped things within minutes in order to stop you from canceling the order. There are too many places to buy tools. No one should tolerate this. Stay away from these people. read more

FedEx lost my Acme Tools package that contained a tool that I desperately needed. However, Acme Tools refused to send me another package until FedEx did an investigation on the package. I was told by a member of the management team that Acme Tools was contractually obligated with FedEx that prohibited them from sending me a replacement package until FedEx completed its review that could take up to four days. When I challenged the "contractually obligated" excuse given to me, the management team member said that was their "protocol" and refused to help me. So now I need to go buy the tool I need from someone else. This is my first experience with Acme Tools customer service and the last time I will ever place an order with Acme Tools. read more

They were very deceptive in their advertising and when I went to order a product they conveniently said oh it's not available we're out of stock, then I set up a different purchase and for the same unit and it was $100 more. They wouldn't sell it to me for their advertised price that I already had a purchase order on. Then all of a sudden it's available if I paid $100 more so therefore I find them a very deceitful company and all I can say is it after 3 months of waiting they did return my money but they did not honor the price that they sold me the item for. I recently purchased a reconditioned Milwaukee Sawzall and Circular Saw on-line. The Circular saw came without a blade, it said bare tool, but in the photo, it had a blade, and in the description, it said battery - NO and indicated the blade was carbide. It also stated it did not come with a battery or charger. No problem, I have a charger and batteries. It didn't say NO blade but it did say NO battery or charger. It did come with the wrench for the blade. After contacting them via email twice they told me tough, sorry. The blade is about $7. bucks. Thats okay, I don't like bait and switch. They had a Milwaukee Impact Wrench for sale with a date of shipment of almost three weeks of purchased date. I was ok with that. Then my date gets moved up about a week. I was ok with that. then my date gets moved to almost a month again. I contacted customer service and they said that that was the expected date for shipments for those order at the time i contacted them. However, i had made my order almost a month prior. I have a feeling that they either dropped the ball and sold my item from under me and then had to give me a new date or they simply put dates on their site to earn sales in hopes they can fulfill them with empty promises. Amanda from customer support just said sorry and to wait another month for my item. So because there was little to no effort to fix the situation, i canceled my order. Dont waste yoru time with this company. All the reviews you see are not even genuine. The 4.6 stars they claim on their site has no backing. Thank you for wasting my time Acme. read more

The website is very easy to navigate with great options. I received immediate confirmation of the purchase. I was to be notified when shipped, and item was to be here in about 2 weeks. After two weeks, I still had not seen a shipping notice, so tracked the transaction on their site, it was showing preparing to ship. (this was after the range it was to be delivered). I used the CS email to enquire as to status, no reply. I revisited site 2 days later, no change, followed up with CS email again... nothing. 2 days later, tracked it again, still showed packaging, emailed 1 more time. After 18 days, no shipped, no response in 5 days from CS (which must be the worst service in the entire world) I cancelled the order and refunded through PayPal. Cuistomer service still has not responded even with another 6 days. This is mastersclass in how not to do business. read more

Ordered parallel clamps through Walmart; the order was several days late in arriving (not Acme Tools fault) and when the boxes finally did arrive they were badly damaged with clamps protruding out the sides. I refused the delivery and expected my refund to be processed promptly. i contacted both Walmart and Acme Tools directly to advise that the clamps had arrived damaged and that delivery had been refused. I was told by Ashley P at Acme Tools that they would assess the clamps after they were returned to them and process the return afterwards. I felt that I should have the refund processed more promptly but it was clear that Acme Tools does not view customer service the way Amazon does so I was just stuck waiting. Then I get an email from FedEx saying that they were once again going to deliver the clamps. I contacted Ashley P. directly and she responded that it was just a routine thing and FedEx would not be delivering to me again but that they were being returned to Acme Tools. A couple days later I notice the FedEx truck leaving my house and indeed they had left the clamps at my front door, the damaged areas having been heavily taped! I grabbed the package and caught up with the FedEx truck and gave the clamps to the driver, insisting that he get them returned to the sender. At this point weeks had gone by since the original order, and the FedEx tracking number showed delivered. Multiple contacts with Ashley P. at Acme provided the exact same response, i.e. "we'll process the return when it arrives". Ashley P. was of no help whatsoever, showing no interest in helping me with this situation. Another week or so went by, my contacts with FedEx were useless, but I got in touch with someone at Walmart who investigated the shipping and found that the package was now listed as "lost in transit". Fortunately Walmart quickly processed my refund. I would still be waiting for the refund if I had relied on Acme tools and their incompetent spokesperson, Ashley P. There are a lot of ways to buy tools and for me Acme Tools will NOT be one of them. read more

I have used this company in the past, including several times this summer, with good success. I'm not sure if there is a change in ownership or management, but I just cancelled my last order. After 8 days, they were unable to get the merchandise to the shipper, even though it was in stock. This is very disappointing for a company I held in such high esteem prior to this. Each time I inquired about the status of my order, I was told it was "in the shipping process" , but it had not actually been shipped. The entire staff seems very friendly and professional, but ultimately, if you can't deliver my tool to me, even though it is in stock, you fail at the primary purpose of this business. read more

This company offers the worst customer service possible! Ordered a Husqvarna Lawn Aerator that arrived in good condition minus the weights that are to accompany the unit. Contacted Customer Service for months. Excuses were plentiful, but needless to say, no weights (really? Not an inexpensive piece of equipment and the weights can't cost more than $200). Their answer...we are waiting on Husqvarna and haven't heard back yet. OK, 3 months later, they admit they are not going to find the weights (you would think just go out and grab a set from another unit, maybe?) and they want me to ship the whole unit back to them and refund my money. Not my first choice, but OK. I pack it up and ship it back to them. They receive it and tell me they cannot refund my card as the "bank" is refusing the credit. I call the Credit Card company who tells me ACME need only contact them directly as a Merchant to facilitate the refund. ACME says, "We don't do that." Needless to say, the last thing ACME should call it is Customer Service. Buy your equipment where someone is willing to help you post-purchase if there is a problem with your order! read more

Ordered a Flex Polisher from Acme on the 15th of March, called yesterday on the 21st of March, spoke to customer service, she informed me it was coming from the manufacturer even though I ordered from Acme and that it will be shipped out tomorrow. No problem, didn't receive an email for confirmation so I called today on the 22nd of March, same lady, informed me that it's going to be shipped out on the 23rd now? You do the math, paid for 3 day shipping, no polisher in sight. Terrible customer service lady, she even made a statement that maybe I should cancel.
