Very disappointing experience for the money. 90 minute facial and the aesthetician spent 15 of those minutes interviewing me with too many questions. I understand the need for a few questions but to waste your experience on this is ridiculous. Ask before you start the timer. Worse, she did zero facial extractions. It was in her words a "feel good" facial whatever that means. This despite the front desk promising that extractions are included. Only when pointing out this disconnect did my brother who followed my facial got a proper experience. The aesthetician confirmed she doesn't do extractions but would make an exception. For 540 dollars for 90 minutes it's a complete waste. If you have money to burn at least make sure they do a good job. We also ordered salads at the spa and the chicken came ice cold and was rubbery. For 60 dollars a salad you would think they would make sure it's an incredible one. Instead it was a small portion and cold meat. They heated the chicken when we pointed it out but it didn't change the fact that the meat was so dry. The staff is nice here and clean facilities of course. I had a truly magnificent, movie-like experience here. I arrived and was greeted by name, which felt like a very personalized touch. Before even stepping foot into the treatment area, I was given a wellness shot that consisted of a variety of vegetables. Monique then showed me around the spa amenities while I waited to receive treatment, making sure I understood where everything was and asking along the way if she could clarify anything for me. She made incredible recommendations - yes, the lounge cookies were delicious - and left me to my own to relax once she had given me a thorough walkthrough. I followed the spa's flow recommendation, alternating between the sauna and the cold plunge. I was rejuvenated before I had even began my appointment. Then came the best part - Lakita! As part of my package, I received a body scrub and scalp/body massage. It was truly amazing and unlike any spa experience I've ever had. I felt so at ease the entire time. This was an incredible experience and now my favorite spa in Miami. The attention to detail and the interaction from the moment you walk in with every team member is totally 5 star! I came for a 50 minute Swedish massage and my masseuse was magical. I typically don't get light- medium pressure massages. I mostly get very deep tissue, but this was such a relaxing experience. There are so many tiny details like the chime at the beginning and the cold crystal at the end. The treatment rooms are spacious they have a full shower in the room and the beds with heaters and mobility to lift your legs and back. It was a great massage, but I think what really blew me away and I decided to spend the rest of the day was all of the spa amenities. The spa has a private pool and Jacuzzi outside where you can order lunch. It is so pretty and relaxing and everyone was so quiet and respectful. There were so few people there it feels exclusive and private. The view of the beach gorgeous! Then going back into the women's locker room. The steam room and the sauna are totally top-of-the-line. They also have a shower with cool rain and thunderstorm settings. The steam room, especially was really unique. It's completely dark and then there are these twinkle lights that change colors in the ceiling and they have this rounded seating that you can put your legs up on an ottoman in the center. It's just really well designed and comfortable. The staff in the locker room was so sweet and they have anything you could need from contact solution to styling products for your hair curling iron, blow dryers you name it. I love spas and especially massages. We have quite a few in our area and I tend to prefer the smaller individually owned establishments for their warmth and more personalized care and service. I've tried most of the large resort spas from Miami to West Palm and have to admit that the only one I'd return to is Acqualina. While not as visually stunning as some of the others, this is a legit spa with great services and high quality products. Every time I've gone I have had skilled spa treatments as well as excellent customer service. The amenities are nice and I enjoy the vibe which is more tranquil and zen compared to the fun party type of vibe of a lot of the others. This isn't a spa where you go to load up on champagne and get loud with a group of friends, but one where you go for escape and restoration. It seems so many south Florida spas forget that this is the true purpose of a spa visit. Although the price tag is quite high, that is not to be unexpected, and imo it's worth it. It's not my regular spa but it is my choice for special occasions and indulgences. I look forward to my next visit, which I often pair with a "staycation" weekend at the resort. read more

Aqualina SPA, as one of the finest in Miami, is a representation and example of spa excellence. Vast and spacious environment. Sauna, steam room, lounge areas. Italian coastline inspired design. Spectacular massages and access to a private pool. It is difficult to find many things wrong about it. It is a very nice spa without question. The service is spectacular all around, from scheduling to rescheduling to in spa experience. Everything is done extremely well and tastefully. Yet, looking at it from another angle, there is nothing particularly unbelievable, revolutionary in the industry or groundbreaking about this spa. The pool is classic in design. The building is not particularly worth a feature. It isn't a place that alters any preconceptions. It would be nice for the lounge areas to be coed for couples. In most ways, it is classic, does everything well and provides a well rounded experience that is rather flawless. And, there is something to be said about that. read more

What a fabulous time I had at this spa. It was part of a spa day with some family friends. From the moment you step foot in the spa you feel so relaxed. Every other spa cuts corners and has horrible amenities for example "Heed" Spa but of course those are just tourist attractions lol This spa really takes their time and fills in all the details. Let's just say if you want to be asked to leave about 3-4 times while your in the spa because they are closing (even though it's only 10min after closing) then this is the place for you. The first thing that comes to mine upon simply entering the hotel, before even reaching the spa is WOW! The hotel is an architectural marvel, and quite the treat for your eyes. There is detail, detail, detail everywhere! Whispy fabrics draped along the edge of a Mediterranean-style domed entrance with a statue and fountain. Someone immediately comes to welcome you and open your door, and everywhere you turn, you are greeted by people working diligently to ensure that you have the best experience possible. Inside the immaculate, luxuriously-appointed building, there is beautiful ornate furniture, marble and wood, high ornate ceilings, and just elegant details as far as the eye can see. You feel like royalty upon simply entering the hotel doors. Once inside the spa, you suddenly feel a wave of relaxation take over you. That clean, fresh, herb-y spa smell fills your nose and you are kindly greeted with a welcome tray of fruit tea and cooling citrus herb moistened towels, perhaps tea-soaked, and you look around and know immediately that you are in the right place. Everyone is kind, professional, and sincere. You could not ask for a better setting for your day of relaxation. The kind receptionist gives you a tour of the facilities, and the splendor of it all is almost overwhelming. Your heart will be saying "yippiiiie!" the whole time. Welcome to your relaxation oasis! From the time you set foot on the premises to the time you leave, you see that every single detail has been taken into account here. Every single special touch that could possibly be added is there. First things first, the massage table is heated, yes, heated! This is a small detail that makes a world of difference. Kristen H. says yes to heated massage tables, indeed! Secondly, this isn't some screaming bright white spa, it is made for relaxation and this goal was clearly in mind at each step of the way when creating Aqualina spa. The colors are cool and soothing, the lighting is dim and relaxing, and the ceilings are tall and luxurious, the marble, mosaic, glass, and dark woods are perfect for relaxing in what feels like a special retreat just for you and you alone. My masseuse was Lorraine and I highly recommend her. I had the Swedish massage, and I have never had a better massage in my life! She was gentle when necessary, but amazing at finding and eliminating tension in the muscles. It felt like angel hands that gently melted away my stress and tension. It was like getting a massage on a cloud. I almost fell asleep, that is how relaxed I was. Mission unravel accomplished! I cannot wait for another trip to Aqualina. I don't know how I will ever be able to go to spas in Virginia again. They can never match what you get at Aqualina. As far as the amenities go, there is a separate male and female area for just about everything. There is an awesome glass and mosaic steam room with color-changing ceiling lights. It's like getting a steam in outer space! Awesome! There is also a sauna and an ice fountain for cooling off. Simply place the ice in the wash cloths and rub it over your body to cool down. There is also another special treat, an experience shower--a rain shower with side jets that pulse at different rhythms and temperatures, and also has changing lighting. Relaxation at its best. In addition, there is a co-ed heated pool. Heated pool? Uh yes, I'll take a heated pool. I can't stand ice cold water anyway. Thanks for the special touch, Aqualina angels! Everything you can possibly imagine is awaiting at Aqualina. Take advantage! Don't forget that August is spa month too. Double yippie! Just as a tip, the spa attendant is much more helpful if you speak Spanish. She will help here and there in English, but she is super helpful if you speak Spanish. I love Miami Spa month, but usually I get the massage. It just feels like a better deal, your whole body gets pampered, and it's harder to DIY compare to facial. However, feeling my skin a bit abused, I decide to opt for a facial here instead. I valeted my car, and when the concierge(?) learned that I was there to visit the spa, he walked me all the way to the spa. Nice service! There I sat down, and was brought a woven tray with tea, warm hand towel, and a registration form. Nice nice service!! The spa area is clean, with relaxing dimmed light. I've been to The Standard, Canyon Ranch, Fontainebleau and others; at Espa the amenities do not compare to them, but still a notch over your average spa. There is a steam room, and a sauna, though the temperature is on the low side. For a long while it feels about as hot and humid as sitting in my backyard. And the tropical shower. Seriously, they haven't fixed it since Esther B.'s visit in Dec 2012? I've tried a functional one at Canyon Ranch, it's a theater of a shower with sound effect and all. Also, when I took my shower, the water temperature fluctuates. I thought that only happens at cheap motels? Guests can also use the pool. It's small but heated. The waterfall in the jacuzzi is my favorite, with the falling water pounding out my knots, which I need since I got a facial and not a massage. There is also a nice relaxation lounge with tea and cookies, and plenty of reclining beds to lie in, before and after the treatment. And oh the facial? It's the best I've had in my life! Seriously. And while the mask is on, I get a scalp and shoulder massage, so there's no down time at all. My face is so radiant and smooth. Let me tell you, my boyfriend saw me and decided to book a facial for himself! I gaze at myself in the mirror, and remember how mere weeks ago my dermatologist was telling me it's never too young to get botox, it can take care of that irksome line on my brow. Line? What line? Not recommended. I brought nine girls for a relaxing spa day to celebrate my sister's bachelorette party. Upon arrival, the attendees asked us six girls who were getting spa treatments, what we would like for lunch. We were very hungry since we did not eat breakfast and I asked if they had any snacks. After our treatment, it was 1pm (which we were told our lunch will be ready). The rest of the three girls showed up at that time. I went to the front desk of the spa to ask how long it will take to cook the rest of the three meals so we can all eat together - they informed me it would take 15-20 minutes. From that, I got the tables setup and ready for our lunch outside, since it would not have been a problem to wait that amount of time. I had to go back inside TWICE to let the staff know that the three girls are ready to place their orders and we were sitting outside. Finally, forty-five minutes later, the waitress came outside to take their orders. We were so hungry at this point that we asked to see if they could bring us some bread and butter. The manager informed us that the only bread they have is the pita bread that comes with the meals. We simply just asked to have the bread ahead of time to calm our stomachs. She said she will see what the kitchen says, but she never came back to let us know nor to bring us the bread. Some girls ordered coffees - they came out cold!bMy sister (the bride to be), ordered a latte after the girls got theirs. She waited so long for it to come, that our meals finally came out so she asked to cancel the latte since the food arrived. The waiter said no problem, but then the manager comes back out minutes later with her latte and spoke down to the bride-to-be as in she never cancelled her latte and she "ordered her latte two minutes ago". We waited TWO HOURS for our meal to arrive- I wish I was joking, but I timed it. Four girls ordered the salmon medium and I ordered it well-done. I found the spa treatment to be great, the waiters to be fantastic, but manager and front desk customer service to be terrible. Liz Correa was the manager that brought out the coffee and spoke down to my sister. I was so bothered by this that I asked to speak to the manager on duty; it turned out to be Liz herself. I was shocked, but proceeded to let her know about our experience so far. I kid you not, she kept shaking her head at me, looking away, rolling her eyes, and talking over me - I couldn't believe it! I was telling her that I don't want anything from her, but I just want management to know that customers are not happy with the service they are getting from a five star hotel and spa. She just didn't care. My sister was so hurt by the way Liz Correa made her feel, that I felt terrible - imagine, you are taking your one and only sister to her bachelorette party where she is supposed to be relaxing and having a great time in a five star spa, but no, she's talked down to over a late latte, her and her guests were made to wait over two hours for a lunch when it was supposed to be a quick thing so we can spend the day enjoying the amenities we paid for. We didn't even have time to use the spa sauna and steam room. I felt terrible - so I went to the front desk of the hotel and spoke to Keren the concierge. She was so very helpful and went out of her way to get a manager to assist me. The manager that came out to speak to me was Tommie Ann Dove, which was in the spa the whole time my party was and was well aware of everything that occurred. At this point, all our guests left and it was my sister and I speaking to Tommie - I went over everything with her and she just kept looking away to her colleague. It made me so uncomfortable just talking about what happened - it was like I was wasting my time and breath. After our conversation, she apologized for what happened and reimbursed my friend for her lunch. There was an issue here with the three girls that showed up on their own - the spa states that the day pass my friends had were invalid. I'm not sure how a specific spa's pass can be invalid, so they proceeded to charge me for these three girls. I was talking to the Director of the spa, Catherine Davalle and she spoke to my friend who had the passes on the phone. She didn't care to listen to what my friend had to explain and gave the phone back to me while my friend was still talking to Catherine, explaining what had occurred. There was so much rudeness in this special day spa day. We are all locals and I chose this five star hotel and spa to celebrate my sisters special day. My friends and I had the option to go ANYWHERE in Miami for a spa and I was gullible enough to believe Acqualina was the best place to go. I will not recommend the spa to anyone and I will not be back. Now, our forever memories of my sister's bachelorette day is going to be this horrible arguing day that we will never forget. This spa experience was very average. The spa is lovely however the treatment was nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary. I participated in Miami spa month, so maybe they gave me a newbie masseuse. He went through all right steps, asked me questions, spoke softly and gave me a massage, but it didn't leave me feeling refreshed and relaxed as I usually do. It was basically a back rub. The most disappointing part however was the quality of the products in the changing room. Typically I see top of the line hair products, or at least a hotel bottle with a label , "hair gel" or something that at least makes it a mystery. but this million dollar spa in a multi million dollar building offered tresemme products. I mean, the cheapest of the drug store brands. what a turn off. I would have been better off bringing my own stuff, but that would defeat the purpose of going to a luxury spa! Then they have the audacity to recommend you buy their oils and scrubs for $60 a bottle without even sampling the products. Overall it was a very average experience. There are much better spas in Miami that may not be as new or on the beach but offer much more in terms of relaxation and quality. The location: Nestled in the condo canyon that has become Sunny Isles Beach, ESPA is the signature Spa of the Acqualina Hotel, a somewhat imposing mammoth structure looming over the Atlantic Ocean. The staff: Upon arrival, you are greeted by attentive staff members who greet you with a smoothie shot of, on our visit, a mango pineapple, and a cold towel to relax with as you sign in. From the therapists, the check in folks to the minders who were constantly checking to see if you needed anything, the ESPA staff all seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs of making your visa an enjoyable and relaxing one. The Locker rooms: After we were escorted on a tour of the facilities, we were deposited in the lush locker area, which as chock full of yummy lotions and toiletries; there are also plenty of private stalls where shy Divas can change. The Bathrobes: The ESPA monogrammed robes featured a soft taupe micro fiber exterior and a warm white terry interior. We would have liked the towels to be bit more generous, for our voluptuous divas found them a bit scant. The lounge: Decorated in rich silks, deep mahogany and bamboo, the relaxation room over looks ESPA's private pool terrace. The chaises welcome you to curl up and relax under a soft satin throw as you await your treatment, surrounding by soft fountains and soft incense. The Sauna/Steam Room: Thanks to the often oppressive Miami heat and humidity, we often dislike our stem room experiences- however at ESPA we fell in love. The crystal steam room made up of beautiful and surprisingly comfortable, iridescent tile benches, centered on an also iridescent tiled table on which perched a mammoth chunk of what appeared to be white quartz. The ceiling of the steam room as covered with multi colored changing lights that twinkled and created beautiful shadows as the light intermingled with the steam. Maybe it was because it was reminiscent of the fun times we had at the planetarium gazing at light shows as mini divas in training, but we could have spent hours draped on the benches, gazing at the twinkling lights. We want this steam room in our Diva Dream House. Outside of the steam room, is a cascading fountain of ice chips- a perfect antidote to either too much steam room star gazing, or just a quick refresher for hot skin (truth time- we scooped up handfuls of ice in washcloths and brought them into the steam room with us, alternating between the warmth of the steam and the cold ice- try it!) The treatments: We partook in a salt scrub and massage with Rafael and his supremely skilled hands. Starting with the scrub, we were fully exfoliated from head to toe with a lovely rock salt oil mix that left our skin super soft. After a quick rinse off in the in treatment room shower, we laid back on the heated massage table where Rafael proceeded to skillfully drain every ounce of stress and tension from our muscles. Incredibly attentive, he was careful to make sure we were always comfortable and to see of we ever needed or wanted more or less pressure in certain areas. Our aching toes and calves (what we go for some fly stilettos) were drained of all tension, even our scalp seemed to dissolve into a puddle of diva happiness. The yummies: Aside from the ubiquitous green apples (seriously--Spa Gods- what's the deal with the green apples?), ESPA offered hot tea in the relaxation room, and absolutely divine lavender short bread cookies. For our visit we sampled the spa menu sample dish of hummus, baba ganoush and an edamame hummus, that was quite tasty, and just filling enough to stave off hunger, but not weigh us down. Parking- ESPA validates valet parking; for those divas who can't dream of letting anyone else park there car- there is a strip mall across the street that you could park in of necessary. Price: ESPA is a pricey, but well worth it. Spa Diva says: Do it. ESPA is easily one of our favorite spas in South Florida. ESPA is made for relaxing and enjoying yourself, whether as a solo diva, a mama and daughter diva day or a girlfriend outing- ESPA is a not to be missed indulgence. Was staying at the Acqualina Resort and was invited down to the ESPA for complimentary use of the facilities for staying at the resort. Walked right in and was given a tour of the facility, ran upstairs to the room, grabbed my bathing suit and headed back downstairs to ESPA. Didn't have much time due to the fact that dinner reservations were coming up. But was able to enjoy the ammenities provided by the spa. The changing areas were split up for woman downstairs and men upstairs. As you walk into the Men's changing area, you walk into a dim and calming area where you have two locker/changing areas and provided in each empty locker, a robe, set of disposable slippers and a towel. At the far end are on each side the sauna and the steam room. The steam room was comfortable and the LED lights on the ceiling of the steam room changed colors every so often giving character and a dreamy illusion while in the steam room. Sauna was warm but not warm enough. The relaxation room is located just before the doors of the outdoor private pool exclusive to the ESPA only. The relaxation room had a great relaxed 'zen' to it where you can cozy up with the blankets and reclined chairs provided to read a book or maybe just lay there and nap away. Provided in the room is coffee, tea, water and a variety of light snacks. Very relaxing! Great ammenity to provide for guests staying at the resort even if you're not getting any spa treatments. read more

I was definitely looking forward for the Spa experience at ESPA. I had heard many good things about it, so this was definitely a treat for Miami Spa Month. Once you go up the entrance ramp there a display of expensive cars are at the lobby, valet will escort you to the spa and there you are - no pointing directions nor giving you directions how to get there. Nice service! The property itself is luxurious, lobby and all areas. Once you get to the spa, there is a sense of calmness in the ambiance. Small chilled towel and tea served at check in. Someone will give you a tour of the spa to show you, the saunas, pool, relaxing room, etc. Masseuse will look for you in the "relaxing room" that has a waterfall running and huge individual loungy/padded chairs, it's a big room with some "divisions" in it (i.e. bamboo sticks to give a bit of privacy and space between one chair and the other). On to the private rooms for the treatment of your choice, heated bed (which was very nice), selection of 2 oils for the treatment - which I think is very nice since you are not only limited to one, and it gives that sense of you have more to choose from. The massage was really good, I would definitely recommend it. Times flies away when you are relaxing in a nice dimmed room, listening to soothing music and most important: relax. Have I said enough the word "relax".... lol. After the treatment I was escorted to the relaxing room that overlooks the pool/jacuzzi. Tea/water, cookies, magazines at your convenience. Tried out the pool/jacuzzi. Pool area is small, like for 20-25 people, I understand it's the pool for the SPA only. Although the property has a bigger pool, but it's probably for the hotel guest/residents, which spa clients are not allowed to go... bummer there. Want to go to the beach? no direct beach access from the Spa, you have to leave the property, probably walk a bit on Collins Ave, and go through the public access.... bummer #2. The spa has nice amenities, bath robe/slippers, water stations, food available to be ordered to be served in the terrace of the pool, 2 types of saunas, one rain shower, but..... not much area to lounge around and guess what... to relax. The areas where you can lounge or relax is the the pool and in the relaxing room (hence the name). The dry and wet sauna are great. There was a lot of people in the pool area - or better said on the Women's, I guess it's because of Spa Month. I would say, if you go, go on a weekday. Thank Goodness for Miami Spa Month! My friend and I have been enjoying Miami Spa Month every year for the last 3 years. We try a different spa every year and this year we tried ESPA in the Acqualina Resort in North Miami Beach. Upon check-in at the spa the attendant asked to complete a small questionnaire to ensure we were not allergic to any products and to ensure we did not have any conditions that would impede us from having our treatment(s). We were also given a small wet towel and mango juice served in a small glass welcoming us to the spa. We were given a quick tour of the spa and shown the amenities the spa offered. The spa amenities included a spa, jacuzzi, experience showers, steam room, sauna and a relaxation room. The spa was decorated beautifully; very tranquil and serene. The spa was constantly being up kept and a handful of attendants were always close by to ensure our spa needs were taken care of. For the Miami Spa Month promotion, ESPA, included several services; however, I opted for the 50 minute massage and my friend selected the 50 minute facial. The treatment rooms were on another side of the spa and I could only assume this area was segregated to avoid any disruptions or noise to the treatment area. My masseuse was extremely professional and reviewed the questionnaire I previously completed to make sure she did not miss anything. The masseuse also asked additional questions to make certain I would have a great massage; especially if I wanted her to focus on a specific area versus another. My friend was also pleased with the facial. Complimentary valet parking is included as a spa quest. Overall, the resort was beautiful and opulent. The spa was decorated with neutral colors and dim lighting for that overall relaxing feeling. I truly enjoyed my experience at ESPA and would return. read more

What a relaxing and pleasant experience. Every spa month I make it a point to try a new spa, no matter how much I liked the previous ones. Although Acqualina is an hour and 15 minutes away from where I live, it is so worth the drive. For starters, when visiting the spa, valet is complimentary which is already a nice perk to begin with as a lot of other resorts/spas may give you a discount but definitely not complimentary. Upon entering the spa area, you are greeted with a form to fill out and some hot tea and towels. Once you are brought inside, you're immediately given a tour and guided towards a locker where you're given slippers and bath robe. This spa has its own pool/waterfall/jacuzzi area for those visiting the spa apart from the hotel which is another huge perk for me as you're encouraged to relax from the beginning to the end of your stay. The pool area was extremely clean as were the lounge chairs. The have spa staff outside ready to take your drink/food order and since they have your card on file you don't have to worry about carrying your purse with you. My only concern was how long it took to bring out two glasses of wine, it took at least 25 minutes which seems a bit too long. The spa has varying amenities such as a steam/salt room as well your typical showers and vanity area. I got a lift and firm facial and my esthetician was wonderful! She expressed some of her concerns with my skin, which although were minimal, they were important for me as I'm a huge skin care freak. They even have this black light that they use to show you the areas of concern and what the problem is. I will most definitely be back. read more

Granted, I did go during spa month (probably the busiest time of year) but I was underwhelmed by the spa at the Acqualina. Yes, they had all the usual suspects of a spa - the steam room, sauna, 'rain' showers but I was expecting more from this 'world renowned' spa, something different, that 'wow' factor. My massage was relaxing and enjoyable. However, the music in the room stopped midway through the service and never came back on. It was hard to get into the complete relaxation zone. I was excited to try to treatment rooms as that is usually my favorite part of the whole 'spa experience'. The steam room was the best part, it was set in dark lighting with sky lights that illuminated in different colors. I was not able to enjoy the Sauna because the water pale had gone empty and no one had bothered to refill it yet. The rain rooms were cool but nothing out of the ordinary. The pools outside were nice and offered a beautiful view of the beach. If you are looking to tan, Acqualina is not the place to do it as the sun is blocked by the building by the early afternoon. The relaxation room was a nice place to wind down - there were comfortable beds, current magazines, and fresh snacks. We were limited in the parts of the Acqualina properties we had access to, which I completely understand but I would hope we would have access to the properties restaurants. The two options were Il Mulino or the spa 'bento box' which we ended up ordering. Unfortunately, that meant paying $30 for tiny portions of fruit, spring rolls, and extremely dry chicken. For a five star resort, this was not up to caliber. Other things to note was the fact that my locker, the only one available, did not lock. Also, when I went to take a shower it had not been cleaned from the previous user with the dirty towels still in the changing room. I think Acqualina would benefit by hiring a few more employees. I did have a nice day, but ultimately I think I was just expecting more from Acqualina. Valet was complimentary, which was a treat and there is great people watching. However, I do think I will choose somewhere else next time I treat myself to a spa day. read more

The service by therapist was great. Shower head in the men's locker room is really old. I can see rust around it. Staff didn't bother to explain everything in the room. For example how to change the temperature of the water. That is kind important I think. How to use the water machine. Poolside is nice, only if engineers are not painting while you relax by the pool. Outdoor furnitures were outdated, I spotted stains, and dead bugs on the ground. No one came by to ask if I need anything else. Hmm is it a real 5 diamond resort? Relax lounge, the decor looks really nice, but with really uncomfortable lounge chair. When I was there, suddenly a group of kids came in, they were loud, making all kind of noise. How can anyone relax in that environment ? I don't think I will come back again. Don't think I will recommend anyone there either. read more

Impeccable Service and Treatments. We felt like we were at home. Martha the Spa Attendant was great. The others were great as well but we interacted the most with Martha so I remember her name tag. My massage was also wonderful. It was very serene and peaceful Sunday as we lounged outside at the pool after our massage. We also met a nice couple and had great conversation. The only thing I did not like was the steam/ice room and sauna was not available but the service, amazing treatments, and other amenities made up for their temporary closure. There are several neighboring spas who have opened their sauna, steam rooms, rain room, ice room, etc but when I compare the luxury service, exclusiveness, and serenity this spa provides to other busy spas without the same level of service and class, it outweighs those other spas who have reopened more quickly. I still cannot wait to get the full experience when all of the amenities are fully available. read more

I used to love coming here, The place is very Zen, hence two stars. I will get massages here on regular basis until I discovered that my massages were actually much shorter than they were supposed to be. So last time I was there I asked how they time the treatment time. It turned out that my hour massage started when I walked in and started to check in outside the spa. So, by the time I took my clothing off, put my robe on and walked around the facilities to enjoy it, my massage time was already cut in half. According to the manager, the time that you spent inside the facility counts towards the treatment that you were supposed to get. So for almost $200 I got about 25 minutes of actual treatment instead of a real hour and let me just say that I was not happy. Therefore, I'm not going back. read more

Wow ! Let's just saw this place is a spectacular hidden gem. I usually frequent Lapis spa @ The Fountainbleu but decided to try something further north. I was not disappointed. My husband and I were happy with our massages, amenities, pool area and service. Definitely five star ! read more

The services are fine- the front desk and staff are absolutely incompetent. My husband got me an $800 gift certificate there, which was kept behind the desk. First, the front desk staff couldn't find it, than when I went to check out they told me me gift certificate was only $600. I told them it was for $800. They called me a liar, embarrassing me in front of my girlfriend. They chased me out the door, saying I hadn't paid. After proving that my husband paid $800 for the gift card. They credited me a $300 gift to add to the remainder of my card. Shortly thereafter, the spa called my husband telling him he owed$800 because they credited him $800 in error. Frankly, I don't want to go there ever again! I've never been so embarrassed in any place. The front desk is just rude and incompetent and the services are just ok. I've been there many x over the years, but this is not the same top spa it used to be. read more

This place was ahhh-mazing! From the moment you slide on your robe, to the Himalayan salt room, the awesome steam room & ice station, and oh the rain shower! They had plenty of hygiene products to use, it was a nice touch. My boyfriend and I came for Swedish massages and of course to enjoy the amenities. And if your wondering about the massages - EXCELLENT! I went with a soothing aroma and my masseuse was awesome! I'd highly recommend. Although very pricey, I'd come again. read more

Best massage I ever had! I used the guy (I forgot his name) for a deep tissue sports massage- Amazing! So professional and customer service was amazing. Cookies and tea in the waiting room, the whole 9 yards. Pricey, but was a great birthday gift from my mom.. Came in here last weekend with my boyfriend and had an amazing experience. The customer service from the staff was phenomenal and so was my massage therapist. The lunch that we ordered poolside was very tasty and I would recommend getting the salmon. Only downside is it isn't co-ed but that just means I'll come here with my girlfriends next time. I had an awesome experience at Acqualina Spa. It is a very beautiful and Zen place. They have an amazing staff. I love everything about it, the sauna, the steam room, great locker room and showers and let's not forget about the Jacuzzi, the pool and a beautiful oceanfront view. so i must have died and gone to heaven.. bc in my mind this place is what heaven must be like. (*sing along*... oooooh heaven is a place on earth...) i walked into the espa at the acqualina and was greeted by the front desk attendants they asked me to take a seat while they got ready. she brought me the sign in sheet along with a mini orange smoothie and a cold eucalyptus towel, the scent was amazing. the super sweet girl walked me around the spa to show me all facilites. when i walked into the locker room i was in complete awe. i had seen pics on their website, but in real living color is a whole new experience! the girl noticed i was losing my voice and coughing and overall looking like crap (i had woken up that morning feeling terrible, a common cold that hit me like a ton of bricks). she told me to get changed and she would be back with an oil that would help me get better faster. she appeared with a cup of oil and told me to rub it on my chest and temples and sit in the steam room for a while. so i followed the "doctors" orders happily. the common area facilites are like no other ive ever seen. the locker room is covered in mini iridescent glass tiles. the steam room was my favorite. the bench seamlessly comes out of the wall also covered in the same tiles. with the ceiling covered in lights that change color which alter your mood - purple was my favorite! the sauna was huge and the perferct temp, not too hot! the ice area was soo cool. a fountain of mini ice chips to cool down and bring your body temp back to normal after the heating sauna/steam room. and the "experience shower" was just that - an experience. after testing everything in there over and over i went over to the relaxation room, to wait and be called in for my hot stone massage. the relaxation room has soft red lighting and each lounger is private bc of the bamboo faux walls separating them. there are delicious hot teas (and i dont even really like tea) lemon water, cookies, nuts, and fruits. i got in the relax mode and before i knew it my therapist was calling my name. she walked me over to the room which was dark and cozy. we talked for a minute and then the treatment began. it was a combo aromatherapy / hot stone. the oil i chose is nicknamed "hug in a bottle", it wraps you up and makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. there was a storm outside and i could hear the thunder crashing which made the 60 min massage even better. instead of the cliche spa music, here they play soft and sultry loungy jazz music. (i loved it so much i even aked for the playlist). after my treatment was over, i went back to the relaxation room and actually took a nap there. when i woke up i went back for more of the amazing steam room, and then showered and decided to call it a day!! while checking out i decided to book a mini treatment for the next day. for $55 you get your choice of 5 trmts and access to all their facilities for the day!! i chose scalp massage with hair mud mask. and after that treatment i spent day 2 at the spa's private pool and roman waterfall hot tub - this is extra nice bc its quiet and not full of regular hotel guests. overall this spa is fabulous. they didnt overlook anything, every little detail has been taken into consideration. i think i just found the perfect cure for a cold, i am no a md, but one full day at this spa and you will be cured within 24 hrs. read more

Let me start out by saying the spa premises (changing room, steam room, hot tub, rain shower, etc) all are a definite 5 stars. If you don't mind paying the high prices just to use those facilities then by all means I would definitely recommend. The big HOWEVER for me is the quality of the services I received. Thankfully I came during spa month over the summer, so prices were a slightly more reasonable than usual. I don't remember my technicians name, but she was heavier set and blonde. When she told me that she would be doing the massage and facial, I right away thought it was a little questionable, because learning good massage technique is something that takes a lot of time and effort. Knowing about skin for facials is something that also take a lot of knowledge completely different from massage. My suspicions were confirmed throughout the session. She told me that she "couldn't" do any facial extraction for some crazy reason I don't even remember, but i had never heard anything like that in my life. I believe she was just lazy and didn't want to. During the massage I got, which was rough, and with out good technique I had the pleasure of hearing a some long drawn out story of how she popped a giant boil off another clients back and it started pussing everywhere. Disgusting! Yes I am serious! The only saving grace to the spa was the beautiful property and facilities. Don't think that you can let the technician know about the services received by how much tip you leave either, because a 20% tip is automatically included. Overall I would be very careful to only book services here with technicians that have been specifically recommended to you by family/friends/coworkers. read more
