This was the "complimentary" wellness exam that Pettito gave us and WOW. WHAT A JOKE. Amongst the afflictions pettito saddled us with, thIS ACRE VIEW NONSENSE exam was "complimentary" only by way of walking in the door. The puppy was given three labs that I had to pay for, one of which was positive, and the vet stood over me and basically said "yes? You'll pay for all of y hese prescriptions? Yes?" ZERO bedside manner. ZERO discussion of the problems their business partner, pettito, just sold me. One of which was a double ear infection that this vet simply pointed at. "Look. SEE? Ear infections." Anytime I questioned the payment, the vet goes "you'll work that out with pettito On your own time" So I declined the meds, paid the labs and took the dog to our better, less gross vet and they not only did our good vet CLEAN THE DOGS EARS (why didn't these acre people clean the dog's ears for me? LAZY.), but they showed me that the site on the puppy where pettito administered the microchip was also SCARY infected. So I now have to pay to have that drained and treated and replaced. What a bunch of greedy pigs. They don't care about these animals. The puppies are a PAYCHECK to them. shame on you, you filthy creatures. Do better. read more

Dr. Barger takes the time to listen and carefully discuss any concerns about your pet. She's also always available to answer questions when you call, which means a lot. if you love your animals. Keep them away from these people. after many years and thousands of dollars they refused to talk to me about my dying cat without an appointment. The next appointment was over a week away. This info was told to me by staff with lots of attitude when I asked the vet to reconsider I was told to take my cat to an emergency vet for euthanasia if I didn't want to wait for the next appointment read more

Do not go to this vet if you have a cat. My family has taken all of our pets here for over 10 years but that ends now as their treatment of cats is unacceptable. While dogs are welcome to walk in on leash, they require cats to be shoved in a carrier. We have a leash trained cat named Rosa who loves car rides but she has always been weary of carriers. We followed their protocol for her last visit; arriving with a calm, happy cat who we then had to force in a carrier. No one working seemed to care how scared she was or make any attempt to help her feel safe. Instead just gave us some pills to feed her for next time she comes in. I called today to make Rosa an appointment and I explained our situation. I hoped they would be understanding and want to give her the care she needed but that wasn't the case. When I asked if I could carry her in on her leash and harness, the woman on the phone literally scoffed and said, "Uh, no. You need to put her in a carrier." I asked her why they let dogs be on leash but not cats and she wouldn't give me an explanation. Just dismissed me and said, "It's just our protocol." These are not good people and shouldn't be trusted with the wellbeing of animals. Unless you have a dog, they don't care about you or your pet. read more

I was contacted yesterday by a staff member who advised me they would not renew my dog's prescription to Chewy for heart worm meds unless I bring her in. I am a 75-yr-old diabetic woman and have been sheltering in place for 4 weeks, during the pandemic, on strict orders from my Dr. and ordered by the Governor and Mayor. I explained this to him but he was unwilling to make an exception under any circumstance. Therefore, I have found a compassionate Vet, who is willing to submit a prescription without seeing her until it's safe again to bring her in. read more

My dogs and I have been clients of AVPH for many years and highly recommend them!!! In response to Mark K's review, yes they charge per day for boarding and always have, which a sign stating such is posted right at the counter when you check your pets in. They NEVER overcharge their clients and are the most caring, attentive and reasonable Vets you will EVER find in Edmond. The staff is also wonderful. Do not believe a bad rating from 1 person and look at the majority of the reviews as obviously, this person was having a BAD DAY! read more

MAKE SURE THEY LISTEN TO THE ACTUAL PROBLEM. I was extremely disappointed in my first visit and will not be going back. I took my puppy in to the vet and explained she had been sneezing relentlessly and appeared to have caught something at the doggy day care. I also explained that she didn't eat for a day b/c she wasn't feeling well but at that point was getting an appetite back. The vet completely disregarded the "sneezing" problem and took a stool sample. She then said if the dog wasn't feeling better within two days we would need a battery of scans and tests and it could be very expensive. This worried me to the point of no sleep so I went to the emergency vet. An additional $120 later, we find out it is a sinus infection and nothing wrong with her stomach or GI at all!! Also, not sure which vet it was, b/c she never properly introduced herself and was snide about the fact that I took my dog to doggy daycare. Stoneridge Animal Hospital on Kelly now has our business. They call to check up on her after seeing her and are more down to earth than vets who just want to run a bunch of tests! read more

I am very pleased with the professional care and treatment I received from both Dr. Barger and Dr. Ross for my little dog. They truly are attentive and explain the issues and the treatments necessary for the wellness of my dog. They are compassionate and down to earth. The office staff and Dr's. assistants are very friendly as well. Their pricing is very reasonable and they do not over charge. Beware! Do not use this vet unless you have received a firm understanding of what they will charge for services and hold them to it. Recently we left out three dogs for 24 hours. We were charged for two days, they ran previously undisclosed fecal tests on our dogs and gave one of them an unapproved shot because they thought she had an upset stomach. One night = $241. We won't be scammed again by them. read more
