Acropolis Management has been managing my properties for more than 5 years, and I cannot say enough about the outstanding level of service they have provided on a consistent basis. Whenever my tenants have required repairs, Acropolis has always responded immediately with great service at a reasonable price. There have even been instances where they sent more than one repair person for a second opinion or to get the best price, and they have never charged extra for that. Devin Dyer, the Property Manager, and all other Acropolis personnel I have dealt with have gone out of their way to make sure that my tenants needs are fulfilled in a timely manner, always making quality, price, and satisfaction as their top priority. Not only has Acropolis taken great care of my tenants, but they have also simplified my life as a landlord by saving me time, money, and aggravation over marketing my rentals, collecting rent, handling maintenance and repair issues and promptly resolving all issues that surface. I never take the time to write negative reviews but I REALLY wish someone would have warned me before I got into a situation with them. Long story short, I was working with a manager named Noe who flat out lied to me and put me in a situation where he led me to believe that I was moving forward with renting a house (ran and cleared our credit etc), but when I starting asking QUESTIONS about some unsafe items with the house (which we were willing to help fix) he turned around and rented it to someone else behind my back. This was after pressuring us to accept moving in within 30 days so we (a family) had started giving notice to our current residence and Children's daycare. We also took work off 2 times to drive down to do a walkthrough on the property, which he was aware of. When he called to tell me he was renting it to someone else, after completely ghosting me following up for 6 days.... I was shocked and called him out for completely lying and misleading us and putting us in a horrible position, he basically said "too bad". Also worth noting that whatever poor soul he got to move into the house so quickly probably wasn't aware that they were letting them move into a house with some fairly big safety issues (doors don't shut or lock AT ALL, windows that are not sealed and have gaps, mold in the garage etc.) I totally understand that nothing is set in stone until everything is signed and lease is paid, but this guy REALLY made us believe the house was ours and its clear he just didn't want to have to deal with a tenant that wasn't going to blindly move into a property. When I said to him "you really lied to us and now you have left a family in a seriously stressful situation", his response was again was basically too bad. read more

SLUMLORDS!!!!!! I lived in Oxnard for 4 years 2007-2011. The old owners and Management Company kept up the property beautifully. All concerns and problems were taken care of in a timely fashion. Then the owners sold the place to these monkeys. Acropolis took over in early 2010 as the new management company. After that this place went down hill fast. I work hard and pay good money for rent. This place quickly turned in a sub-standard slum. Acropolis is a lazy and incompetent management company. They should have paid ME to live there because I sure wasn't getting my moneys worth. Anytime I had a legitimate problem to be fixed it was like pulling teeth to get them to fix it or send someone out. The complex became over crowded. They turn around studio apartments in just a weekend to families of 4. The complex isn't a kid friendly place since every sound in the courtyard is amplified. Kids were running back and forth upstairs, screaming all over the courtyard 24/7. The pool broke down and it sat empty with a puddle of dirty water for months and was nothing but an eye sore. I was embarrassed to bring over any guests. When I moved out they failed to send me my deposit or list of deductions within 21 days. Then they claimed they lost my file. When i finally did get my refund its was for the wrong amount. I had to keep being persistent with them. They NEVER return calls. Never know the answer to my questions. When you call and ask a question they give you the run-around. Get it together Acropolis!!! These people don't care about the well being or satisfaction of any of their tenants. Multiple grievance letters have been written by the tenants and no changes or improvements were ever made. You know what that's called? A Slumlord. They wasted so much of my time AND MONEY. They are honest, trustworthy and very neat. We have large properties and are so happy to add this company to our team of managing our units. I don't make it a habit of posting negative comments but I can't not write this review. This company is below scum of the earth. We were forced out of a house we had been renting for 19.5 years during this Thanksgiving and Christmas. We immediately asked if we could sign a lease, pay more money to stay. We were told no "but it didn't have anything to do with us." Since we had only had them for the last 2 years of our tenancy, we had dealt with the landlord solely for 17.5 years whom we had a good relationship with. It is clear that our relationship with the landlord made it difficult for them to be as heartless as they wanted to be. The owner (Tom) and his minion (Noe) are truly soulless. I could go on for quite some time and list all the horrible things they have done but to wrap it up in one sentence: IF YOU SEE A RENTAL AVAILABLE FROM ACROPOLIS MANAGEMENT - RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION! read more

This place is by far the worst property management company I have ever dealt with. They are 100% slumlords who don't care about the tenants and their rights. We moved from Idaho to California and had a hard time finding a place in short trips down here. We rented our house site unseen and showed up to an unlivable space. The house was so dirty and disgusting that we could not even stay in it the first night after making the long drive from Idaho. The property manager then took $80 off our rent for us to clean the house. It took over two days and hundreds of dollars in cleaning supplies to get the place clean enough to sleep in. This is not a cheap place either, we pay $2500 for a house where the oven doesn't work and has never been cleaned, the windows leak and don't lock, the carpets have never been professionally cleaned and the cabinets look like somebody was making meth in the kitchen. We have repeatedly asked for maintenance and we never get a response. I finally threatened to stop paying rent for some faulty electrical that was a fire hazard and that got their attention. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE OR RENT A HOUSE in Agoura Hills that they have listed. We are moving out as soon as our lease is up and this place can remain empty as it should because it's not worth $2500/Month. read more

We had the worst experience being a customer of Acropolis Management. Before I list the number of problems with this company I will say that any property owners doing business with this company will have a very high percentage of having things go wrong with tenants due to the unbelievable unprofessionalism and dishonesty of this company. If you are planning on listing your properties with this company you are gambling with your hard earned investment. If your tenants end up hating doing business with you it is because Acropolis Management treated the tenants with utter disrespect and made them greatly regret having a contract with them. I have a wife and 4 kids and I found a pretty house in Moorpark and moved my whole family there and put them in new schools there. We loved the community. We found out that the last tenant did a 1 year lease and ended up staying there for 5 years. I told my wife this was the last time we rented a house before we were going to buy. When we were brought to look at the house and the existing tenant that was moving was yelling at Noe, the customer service representative, and saying that he did not have the right to show the house. He said he had made an appointment with her and that they were allowed to come in. I didn't know what to think but eventually she ended up letting our family in to view the house. We moved in a week later and noticed several things that weren't working in the house and left messages and emails. They usually respond to you after about 12 times trying to get a hold of them. Finally they sent a handyman in that put bandaids on half of the problems only to break a week later. They feel that if they ignore you or if your air conditioner isnt working or you have sprinklers leaking you will eventually get used to them not responding. Fast forward 6 months and we got a dog that we were watching for a week for my sister. It was a yellow lab that never barked and was housebroken. My 9 year old daughter came home from school with a note posted to the door saying that we were in breach of contract and would shortly be evicted if the dog wasn't gone soon. It was my fault because I didn't know that dogs weren't aloud and quickly gave the dog back to my sister a couple days later when she was home. My daughter called me in tears saying that a note said we would be homeless soon. They never called or emailed or knocked on the door. They have 0 common sense and will go out of their way to treat you terribly for reasons I still don't understand. We always payed the rent and always treated them with kindness and always wanted to be on their good side. A few months later we received another post it on the door saying that are lease was going to be terminated as of 1 year. We just had celebrated Christmas a couple weeks earlier. We were incredibly sad and my kids cried for a week. I then went out of my way to find other housing in the middle of January which is very scarce. They told me that we could get the rent prorated once we found another house. I told them that was fine. 10 days later we found another house and that we were going to be moving on a date. They then told me that I needed to give them a 30 day notice which I said I had already gave them when we had spoke about the proration. We now are moving and they were starting eviction proceedings because we weren't going to pay them for a full month rent when we move out on the 11th. They are so greedy and still have our deposit. When you give a company 33k dollars for one year you would think they might treat you with a little respect or kindness. If my review isn't enough you can look at all the other internet reviews and see that this is one of the few companies that are making great money from people and in turn rip them off with bully and completely incompetent business ethics. Horrible property management company. I've never been so disappointed in the integrity of any company until I met the people of this company- acropolis management. I felt that they treated us horrible and very unfair. They never respond to emails, calls, maintenance repairs in a timely manner. Then they proceeded to keep all Of our deposit after we moved out and used OUR money to make repairs to the home that is now listed for sale by the owner of Acropolis. Acropolis (previously called CR) Management are nasty bullies; my experience dealing with them was bad from start to finish. I was always direct, reasonable and polite in my requests and would be met with bully tactics and no change. What redeems them is that the property was adequately maintained and always clean. The catch was that it is maintained so well because they nickel and dime the tenants. I waited until I moved out to review them to see how they'd deal with the security deposit. After thoroughly cleaning the apartment they slapped on extra charges for cleaning and painting. If possible do not rent a place from these people. read more

I don't normally write reviews, but I was looking for Acropolis's phone number and came across these reviews. Since there are only a couple of reviews and they are both pretty bad, just thought I would provide my perspective. The initial employee who was handling the apartment was awesome. She met me to walk through the property at my convenience. When I told her how interested I was in renting it, she informed me that there was already a couple willing to sign a lease, but if I could give her deposit and first month's rent right away, she would rent the place to me. I actually wanted to move in a week after it was available, so she worked with me to find a solution that worked out perfectly. Other than that, I did not have much interaction with the company. There were about 7 or 8 items that needed attention upon move-in, and the handy man only corrected 4 or 5 of them. The other two were minor and I knew I was only going to be there for 6 months, so I didn't bother calling to have them resolved. Other than that, the only other time I called them was upon move-out. The employee met me at the designated time, although it's easy for me to leave work for appointments when necessary, so this is never a problem. The walk-through was fast and easy. The only one issue is that I was quoted by two different people at Acropolis that they would charge me between 70 and 80 dollars for carpet cleaning, yet they ended up charging me $95. I called them to question this and they said this is what the carpet cleaner charged them. I didn't like that they quoted me a bogus price and I would have made a bigger deal if the difference was greater than 20 bucks or so. Overall, I do not have any issues with them. Although I only lived there for 6 months and am pretty low maintenance when it comes to dealing with management companies, just thought I would provide my perspective since the other reviewers seemed to have had such horrible experiences. read more

All I can say is record EVERYTHING before you move in, they will charge you for damages even if it's on their checklist that you sign before you move in to property. Videotape all broken screens, chips in sink, cleanliness, everything, just protect yourself from these crooks and make sure to do your due diligence before and after moving, they will keep the majority of your deposit and make damages up as they go, and charge you for them. They will also charge you for extra days for living there when they already had all the keys returned to them and already moved out, THEN they will mail the remainder of your deposit back to you late, which is illegal. This was a terrible experience, glad to be out of that ant infested house, look elsewhere If you can. read more

I have not been a tenant with this property management company before, however, there was a listing that I was interested in that was managed by this company. I have made 3 calls to them regarding the property. My first one was to view the unit. I was told it wasn't going to be ready until a specific Friday and that they would call me with the lock box number on that day. Never called me. I had to call them. The second call was to ask if the carpet was going to be replaced or shampooed and I had a couple questions about more repairs that needed to be made. I was told the manager would call me to answer any questions I had. Never called me. I had to call them. I figured no biggie. They are probably very busy. The third call I placed was requesting that they email me an application. I have yet to receive that email and it has been a few days now. Not following up with a potential tenant (meaning potential money) is bad business. I come on here to read their reviews and now it all makes sense. No thanks! read more
