I'm in disbelief…read more... I have a pre-drilled 75 Gal aquarium tank and was in a bit of a bind with my API Filstar XP canister filter which had a bad impeller and the water flow was poor. While looking for a replacement part, I found out that this filter was discontinued and replacement parts are scarce to non-existent.  I purchased a Fluval Canister filter but found out that it was not compatible with the existing plumbing.  Facing the propects of having to do a replumb, and not knowing where to start, and what parts I would need, I decided to google search for companies that could perform this service.   I called MK Aquarium and Kevin answered.  He took the time to understand my issue.  What I really appreciated about Kevin is that he decided that I could save money by doing the work myself AND he would be willing to walk me through how to do it.  Candidly, I was shocked and touched by this act of kindness from a business owner. Kevin was on the phone with me, answered all my messages and I was able to get it done.  My tank is up and running with no issues so far. The tank soon got overtaken by algae and angry fish. Finally decided to just have a pro clean it up for us and called up Bay Ace Aquarium and we're very glad that we did! The communication was prompt, clear, and easy. They arrived on time ready to go and respectfully removed shoes upon entry every time they'd come inside of the house. They said it would be about $10-$15 extra, which I agreed to. I dropped my dog off around 1 PM and didn't hear back until about 4 PM. When I arrived to pick up my dog, I was told they had given my husky a deshedding treatment and the total came out to $140. The issue for me isn't necessarily the price itself--it's that the cost kept changing throughout the process. If the full price had been communicated clearly from the start, I wouldn't have had a problem. The shop itself is nice and I've taken my dogs here before, but because of this experience I probably won't be returning.
