Each time we attended in the past, the bands were outstanding, very talented and full of energy. Last night was a huge disappointment and a total waste of $80. The Yacht Rock Schooner band was unbelievably bad, off key and out of tune. Most of the audience members were just as surprised as we were: were they really that bad, was the sound equipment not working, was this band formed yesterday? We have come to expect high quality entertainment from the MKAF, but now are not sure we will ever come back. We, along with many others, left at intermission. I do hope this is a one-off and not an indication of what to expect in the future from MKAF. Enthusiastic audiences and fellow patrons of the arts deserve better.

We learned more about Noah and his wife and what got him into magic. The VIP package to me is worth it since you get to sit up front and see some extra magic. Also you get to ask what makes the "magic" happen. The show itself is great for all ages and is geared towards a family audience with some minor adult humor here and there. Most raunchy thing here is a very clever Fart joke. While you are here you get to see Noah perform multiple tricks and feats of the imagination. Audience participation is a must and I highly hope you get picked out of the crowd to participate. I don't want to give to much away but after the show you and your family will talk about it for next few weeks. Bring some extra money/credit card so that you can purchase some cool magic acts at the gift shop or buy some snacks. Overall we had an excellent time and I highly recommend all tourists and locals to check it out.

The class is only 45 minutes, but it usually runs a few minutes longer as the instructor delivers a thorough cool down. Bring a mat! Sometimes they run out. We went and saw Bart Rockett's Magic & Comedy show today in Destin thinking it would just be one of those "tourist trap, kill a couple hours, maybe laugh once or twice" type things... Nope. Somehow this man managed to put on a show that both of us honestly thought was BETTER than Mac King's comedy magic show we JUST saw in Vegas recently. And that's not me being dramatic for a yelp review or anywhere else I share -- we walked out genuinely shocked at how good it was. First off, Bart is hilarious. Not the awkward "dad joke magician" funny either. Legitimately funny. The kind where you're laughing because he catches you off guard every five minutes. Then out of nowhere he starts doing ventriloquist bits that I swear deserve their own show by themselves. We were dying laughing. But then the magic itself? Actually insane. Not the cheesy "pick a card while I distract you with jazz hands" kind of magic. Multiple times we just looked at each other like: "How the hell did he just do that?" And what made the whole thing even cooler was how great he was with the kids in the audience. We didn't bring our kiddos on this trip, but every single child there got involved somehow. You could tell he genuinely enjoys making kids feel included instead of just using them as props for the act. Honestly, next time we come back to Destin, bringing the kids to see this show is already on our list. The biggest surprise though? After the show we got to talk with Bart for a bit, and the guy is just ridiculously humble and down to earth. No ego. No "performer persona." Just a genuinely kind dude who took time to talk with us, joke around, and make us feel appreciated for coming. That stuff matters. Anyone can learn tricks. Not everyone can make people feel welcomed and give them a memory they'll actually talk about the rest of the trip. Hands down the best money we've spent all week in Destin on our honeymoon. If you're debating going... go. Seriously. 10/10. Would happily get my mind blown again.
