We came on a Monday morning not knowing it would be crowded and were quoted a 45-60 minute wait. The art studio is upstairs and there is only space for a handful of families to be up there at a time. We got on the list and waited until it was our turn to go upstairs. It did end up being about that long. The staff here were super friendly and helpful with explaining everything. They provide smocks to wear and all of the supplies you need. They have a variety of projects to pick from. The price range of the projects seems to be about $10-$35 dollars. My son we had do the cheapest one because I knew he wouldn't take it very seriously and was just trying to occupy him. I let my daughter do one of the small canvases which I believe were $28 because I knew she would take it seriously. She picked the unicorn canvas and loved doing it. They give you the instructions on how to do the project and things to trace so it is easier for the younger kids. She loved it and my kids were entertained for over an hour. I would defintley come again and I know my daughter already wants to come back.

The kids class (Shard Shop Original Art Class) is really reasonably priced and they had a blast creating their own piece of art! Strange, but their only other location is in New Orleans. We showed up on time for our appointment and did not feel rushed. There was one party leaving and another party was there with us, so my kids had their own table full of supplies. They have sample you can base your art off of, or you can freestyle it. Everything was included! Note that it takes a little over 24 hours for your art to cure so don't plan this the day before or the day you are leaving the area. They can always mail it to you, but there is a cost associated and it's more fun to pick it up yourself.

Brit (the owner) was our instructor and she taught us all the best little tips and tricks she could during our class. We were the only 2 signed up for this particular class so it felt even more intimate and fun having it be like our own personal studio. The class was small - we were joined by a mom and her three kids. Mercedes began the class by demonstrating how to make a vase using the wheel. She made it look easy but we could all tell that it wasn't. Still, we each got a lump of clay, centered it on the wheel and began. Unfortunately, my first effort started to resemble a toilet more than a vase and I had to start over. Fortunately, Mercedes was a patient and attentive instructor and made sure we each created at least one piece each that we were happy with. (The pieces will be glazed, fired and ready for pick up in about two weeks.) I left just frustrated enough that I can't wait to come back and try it again.
