He called and told me they would not service the house any longer and offered no compensation. They did not even offer a free service period. Nothing. The damage is in the thousands $$. Yet speaking to the tech who showed up to my house, there seemed to be some confusion from speaking to the woman who setup the appointment to him showing up on my doorstop. When I spoke to the woman, I informed her of my issue, and asked if they gave free quotes - 'Yep, sure do.' When the tech showed up, I informed him of my symptoms, hoping he is to going to diagnosis the problem. I direct him the furnace and he then states he's going to the van for a price sheet. So, after politely listening to his spill, I inform him I don't want a new furnace, I just want this one fixed. He states it will be $6X.XX to diagnosis. I state that's fine, but in the back of my mind, I'm like I guess that lady was confused over what type of quote I wanted. After he stated it would need a certain part, he informed me - that it could be more than that and he wouldn't know until that part was installed and these furnaces are prone to this and that. I have to admit - I was uneasy since the $6,XXX price list is the first thing we go over and the way he was preparing me for possibly more repairs. So, I decided to get a second opinion. Even the wife thought that was bad business, in regards to a price sheet - asking where I found them. Wasn't able to compare total price quotes, cause by the time another company came out - wife reminded me we had a parts warranty on the HVAC. Was conflicted between 3 or 4 stars, as the Tech was knowledgeable as the diagnosis was the same as the second opinion. He was also professional, as he was wearing those disposable shoes when he showed up at my door. But, alas, I didn't go with them...

Hello. I am selling a house and needed electrical work…read moredone by 5/29/2019. I called Travis Electrical service and requested a quote for wiring in a dishwasher and also an oven. I also needed 4 ceiling fans replaced and a vanity light in the bathroom installed. The team showed up on time and were very professional and courteous. I was given an estimate of $1000 but the house wiring would not be up to code in order to pass the building inspection. Travis Electrical stated that it would cost me an additional $1000 to bring things up to code. I agreed. 4 hours later the team called me and said they had completed the project as I had agreed to bring them a check. During the walk through I was informed that one of the globes on a fan was broken when they opened the package. He said, "Take the box back to Lowe's and the store would replace it. (The globe). I took his word for it. I also asked if they guaranteed the house would pass building codes. He said no. (In case they missed something) The next morning Travis Electrical Service administration called and were asking for a 5 star rating for the electrical team. I stated that the team was courteous and professional but way overpriced @ $500 per hour. This morning I said that the work looked good. I am now at the house inspecting the 4 ceiling fans. Upon further inspection. I found that one of the lights was without chain markers (extended pieces of chain with a medallion at the end. This medallion is clearly marked either "fan" or "light" which makes it easy to turn on the fan or light or both. I searched through the boxes and found the two chains and installed them myself. Another fan had the two chains installed in the wrong place completely backwards. Which I uninstalled and reinstalled correctly. Because 3 out of 4 fans required work from me to operate correctly. I am beginning to question whether the fixture was broken during installation or not. As I study the work receipt I see that I was charged $761 for five wireless smoke detectors. (Amazon sells them for $32 a piece). A plastic weather proof cover for an outlet was $54. I applaud their professionalism and courtesy but feel I was taken advantage of because of my deadline time frame and the extreme markup for smoke detectors and plastic all weather cover and the terrible attention to detail on the ceiling fans. The next day I received a call from the company's customer service asking if I was satisfied with the work. I said, "No I am not satisfied." And I explained to her why. She said, "I will be there with a crew tomorrow and make everything right." They showed up on time. Fixed all my issues. Took the smoke detectors off the walls and gave me a refund check of $761. I am very impressed with how deeply they wanted to make me a happy customer. And now I am. 5 stars for customer service.

Super friendly, patient and very respectful. They aren't cheap but I'd say it's definitely worth the money. Haven't had any issues with the work done, they clean up their mess and they've been honest with what could, should and needs to be done. Plus they are dog friendly, my big furbaby loves these guys.

I looked up their website and their website is near identical to A-1 Heating & Cooling - which had me concerned, concerned that they were owned by the same people. If that is the case, I couldn't tell because the lady who answered the phone her mannerism and approach is a lot more down to earth and personable - in a way Southern. I explained to her the situation about me looking for a second quote and my HVAC being under warranty - she wrote a few things down and told me she would call me back. She called me back minutes later and stated that someone could come out there within the next hour as they are finishing up a job near me to assess. I was surprised to hear same day service and it was already 11AM. Before he even came out - she even gave me the total labor cost to install it - if the item I needed to have replaced was the correct one. I called numerous places, and none of them would give me any type of quote over the phone. Other places told me everything from 'No one is here to do that' to 'We would need someone out there before you receive any quote since it's a repair.' I feel like she has some authority when it comes to the business, and that is always a plus. But, he came out there less than an hour later, diagnosed it, ordered parts from Nashville, and showed up the next morning to install it. Didn't try any pressuring sales tactics to upsell me any type of warranty or maintenance plan. The only thing they should get is one of those Square devices, so that they can take debit/credit cards via phone/tablets instead of over the phone.

Cameron responded to my initial inquiry promptly and provided a formal quote that stood out from the rest. Getting quotes from contractors in Tennessee can be a challenge, but Mid-South made the process straightforward. Their prices were reasonable, and Cameron answered all my questions thoroughly and promptly, so we decided to move forward with the work. I do have to mention that the day before the replacement, one of the crew members came by to inspect the ductwork, which required climbing through my attic. Unfortunately, during that process, he accidentally stepped through the ceiling, creating an 18-inch hole. This incident added a lot of extra work to the project, but Cameron, although not always the most timely communicator, took responsibility. He sourced and paid for the repairs, which included repainting the ceiling and an adjacent wall. I imagine it was an expensive mistake for him and his team. Even though I'll have to hire someone out of pocket to fix the lumpy drywall after two unsuccessful attempts from two different contractors, I'm still giving Mid-South HVAC & Electrical 5 stars, for now. The crew worked efficiently to replace the units, all while respecting our shoeless house policy, which I'm sure was inconvenient for them. The new AC is holding up well through the recent 99-degree heat, and we'll see how the furnace performs this winter. We also have a 1-year labor warranty, which I hope we won't need to use.
