The initial two technicians who came were very nice, very honest and gave us a fair price for the repair. All that remained was for a person to come and complete the tile work. We were promised and set up an appointment days in advance to have the technician come at 8 AM. I received a call about 10 AM saying they had had a problem with the truck and had to take it back for repair. Understandable. However, at 1 PM still no one had come and no one had called. When my wife called to check, someone said that they had come to the gate of our gated community and did not receive any notice so they went away. They did not try to call me, the gate automatically caused my phone. Being in the hospital, I had nothing to do but answer a phone.. They did not try to call my wife. I am in the hospital having to deal with this stress. I had canceled my subscription with Lee Company once before, due to a concern over high pricing of parts that could be found at 1/3 the price.. This company, and these technicians knew of the predicament my wife and I were in. They did little to make things right. Consequently, the technician is now supposed to come the next day. Never mind that my wife had rearranged her life so that she could come tend to me at the hospital but other things as well so that she could be present when they arrived. This is typical of a fly-by-night company not someone with the reputation that Lee Company supposedly enjoys. Even if you reconfirm appointments, sometimes they don't come and they don't call.

During a cold front, I requested service (Ref: Estimate #20631848) and asked for basic documentation (contract copy, warranty registration, and a fully itemized estimate with OEM part numbers/MSRP and labor breakdown). The estimate came back over $3,000, with ~$1,700 just for the part, and included a line labeled "Band-Aid." After consulting Service, Inc. (Nashville) and Hiller, I learned "Band-Aid" can function as open-ended billing--i.e., "whatever it takes" after the part is installed, with no clear cap. To verify, I had Service, Inc. review the job. They confirmed in writing that: * The part is fully covered under the manufacturer's warranty ($0 to me), and * The install is about a 1-hour job, with a labor quote less than half of Green Street's total. In plain terms: * I paid a premium (~$18k), nearly $10k more than another bid, for peace of mind (parts + labor assurances). * Before a storm, I asked for help and transparency. * Green Street quoted $3,000+, including $1,700 for a warranty part that should be $0. * Their estimate used "Band-Aid," flagged by two licensed contractors as open-ended/uncapped language. * Service, Inc. honored the warranty ($0 part) and quoted a clear, fair price for ~1 hour of work. I support local businesses that do right by their customers--especially when families are relying on heat in bad weather. My experience with Green Street HVAC was unresponsive, non-transparent, and inconsistent with what was promised. If you're considering them, insist--in writing--on: * Proof of manufacturer warranty registration (model/serial + confirmation), * Written parts coverage terms (what's $0 under warranty), and * A fully itemized estimate (OEM part numbers, MSRP/list, exact labor hours & rate; avoid vague "Band-Aid" codes). They are extremely trustworthy and go the extra mile to fix the problem properly with out screwing the customer like some of the other companies I have tried. She called back maybe three minutes later and said that technically the repairmen had finished the day but given the situation, they were going to make sure to send someone anyway and that he would be at our house (which was not a short drive) within the hour. He was here in 40 minutes and had the heat back up and running in under an hour from when he arrived. This is the kind of service that you hope for humans to want to give and you certainly hope to receive. We are SO GRATEFUL!

Hello. I am selling a house and needed electrical work…read moredone by 5/29/2019. I called Travis Electrical service and requested a quote for wiring in a dishwasher and also an oven. I also needed 4 ceiling fans replaced and a vanity light in the bathroom installed. The team showed up on time and were very professional and courteous. I was given an estimate of $1000 but the house wiring would not be up to code in order to pass the building inspection. Travis Electrical stated that it would cost me an additional $1000 to bring things up to code. I agreed. 4 hours later the team called me and said they had completed the project as I had agreed to bring them a check. During the walk through I was informed that one of the globes on a fan was broken when they opened the package. He said, "Take the box back to Lowe's and the store would replace it. (The globe). I took his word for it. I also asked if they guaranteed the house would pass building codes. He said no. (In case they missed something) The next morning Travis Electrical Service administration called and were asking for a 5 star rating for the electrical team. I stated that the team was courteous and professional but way overpriced @ $500 per hour. This morning I said that the work looked good. I am now at the house inspecting the 4 ceiling fans. Upon further inspection. I found that one of the lights was without chain markers (extended pieces of chain with a medallion at the end. This medallion is clearly marked either "fan" or "light" which makes it easy to turn on the fan or light or both. I searched through the boxes and found the two chains and installed them myself. Another fan had the two chains installed in the wrong place completely backwards. Which I uninstalled and reinstalled correctly. Because 3 out of 4 fans required work from me to operate correctly. I am beginning to question whether the fixture was broken during installation or not. As I study the work receipt I see that I was charged $761 for five wireless smoke detectors. (Amazon sells them for $32 a piece). A plastic weather proof cover for an outlet was $54. I applaud their professionalism and courtesy but feel I was taken advantage of because of my deadline time frame and the extreme markup for smoke detectors and plastic all weather cover and the terrible attention to detail on the ceiling fans. The next day I received a call from the company's customer service asking if I was satisfied with the work. I said, "No I am not satisfied." And I explained to her why. She said, "I will be there with a crew tomorrow and make everything right." They showed up on time. Fixed all my issues. Took the smoke detectors off the walls and gave me a refund check of $761. I am very impressed with how deeply they wanted to make me a happy customer. And now I am. 5 stars for customer service.

Super friendly, patient and very respectful. They aren't cheap but I'd say it's definitely worth the money. Haven't had any issues with the work done, they clean up their mess and they've been honest with what could, should and needs to be done. Plus they are dog friendly, my big furbaby loves these guys.

We were having issues with our AC not blowing cool enough. We had our main AC company come out that we used since we had the house. While under warranty they replaced the Evap coil 2 years ago. When we started having cooling issues this year we called them out "out of warranty" to see what's up. They said the Evap coil was bad (without checking it). They said those coils were prone to have issues. I said "you just replaced it within the last two years, they can't be that bad can they?" They said yes and they recommended a new unit for $6000-$8000 roughly. This unit is a 2007 unit and has been warranty maintained for its entire life including all seasonal cleanings and inspections. But they said the 12 year life of the unit is up! So I decided to give A2Z a try. They came out, gave me up front reasonable estimate to troubleshoot. After I agreed, right in front of me, they found the leak in the dryer filter. He pumped the system with freon to get us going until he could get the filter. Once the filter came in (1-2 days) they came and installed it. It's been working perfect since May. The price was extremely reasonable even with the "old style" freon cost and I didn't have to get a new unit. Very happy, very pleased and if my unit does eventually fail, they will be the ones I will call to install the new unit. read more

You won't find better people or a better company to take care of any of your heating and air needs. No pressure and excellent service! We have used A2Z Heat and Air for over 10 years and not a single complaint. You will not find two more honest, qualified, and hard working people than Jim and Patty Waldron. We had the low quality original units when we moved into the house and they started having problems, and they were only 4 years old, pathetic! Jim kept those units going for 10 years until our main unit finally gave out. We finally had to get a new unit and Jim and Patty took great care of us, helping us to find a really good unit at a reasonable price. Because Jim installed the new unit properly, as it was not originally, he was also able to help take care of a water problem in my crawl space. I can't say enough good things about A2Z. After calling One Hour Air and Action Air I was quoted between $5200 and $6100 to replace an AC system which "could not be repaired". I contacted A2Z to quote me a new system. Jim arrived and immediately pointed out a few problems with my current system. Before he even talked about a new install he said, "let me check a few things". 15 minutes later, Jim gave me the good news that he could fix my current system for about $1000. He promptly returned two days later with the parts. In less than three hours my system was working and Jim not only met his promise but came in at $742. I don't ever leave 5 stars! Jim and his wife are by far the best HVac service in the Clarksville area! Twice now with 2 different homes I have had other Hvac companies come to my home, and tell me that my HVAC units were completely shot and needed replaced quoted $4000-$5000. I luckily called A2Z, and got an out side inspection done. Both times Jim has come and investigated he has found that the previous technicians either didn't know their job, or were trying to force the sale of a brand new unit! A2Z has come to the rescue now twice, and I refuse to use any other technician! They go above and beyond!!! Honest, dependable, and all around great company. Had one company try to tell me needed new unit there was no repairing ours charged us the appointment fee and left me with a 4 month old baby and no heat in January. Called A2Z(Jim)for second opinion he came out that night, even though he was already home for evening. After hiring several companies to assess and/or fix various issues in my older home, I have discovered how difficult it is to find competent and honest workers these days! This is the first company that I have found who delivers services the old-fashioned way...what a breath of fresh air! Both Patty and Jim are very knowledgeable/friendly and the work performed was exceptional. My new HVAC unit had to be installed by a certain date and they made sure that it was completed on time. Our upstairs unit quit blowing cool air, so I started looking for a HONEST company to aid me. Most other companies-that I had look at my unit did not take much time to explain to me my options clearly until I found Jim! Excellent service. I had to obtain bids my church's HVAC system a few years ago as we switched from propane to natural gas. Jim was the only one who didn't attempt to sell me a new unit. He made the switch for 1/10th the cost. This company is who I have to do my home system preventive maintenance. Patty and Jim are both very friendly and very knowledgeable about these home systems. They don't treat you like just another account. They diagnose and their estimates are pretty much on the money if you have a problem. After talking with Betty about my issues she provided estimates based on the info I provided her about my current unit. These guys were quick to come out and assess the unit size and removed old unit and put a brand new unit in place. They changed all the old fittings and provided a new thermostat. They cleaned up the siding and left no mess after removal. They also provided financing through good leap all around the Unit cost price beat all other companies I called out. Got a warranty for parts and labor through there company and lifetime warranty through there providers. Loved the service and company will call them out again for any services in the future. I looked up their website and their website is near identical to A-1 Heating & Cooling - which had me concerned, concerned that they were owned by the same people. If that is the case, I couldn't tell because the lady who answered the phone her mannerism and approach is a lot more down to earth and personable - in a way Southern. I explained to her the situation about me looking for a second quote and my HVAC being under warranty - she wrote a few things down and told me she would call me back. She called me back minutes later and stated that someone could come out there within the next hour as they are finishing up a job near me to assess. I was surprised to hear same day service and it was already 11AM. Before he even came out - she even gave me the total labor cost to install it - if the item I needed to have replaced was the correct one. I called numerous places, and none of them would give me any type of quote over the phone. Other places told me everything from 'No one is here to do that' to 'We would need someone out there before you receive any quote since it's a repair.' I feel like she has some authority when it comes to the business, and that is always a plus. But, he came out there less than an hour later, diagnosed it, ordered parts from Nashville, and showed up the next morning to install it. Didn't try any pressuring sales tactics to upsell me any type of warranty or maintenance plan. The only thing they should get is one of those Square devices, so that they can take debit/credit cards via phone/tablets instead of over the phone.

Yet speaking to the tech who showed up to my house, there seemed to be some confusion from speaking to the woman who setup the appointment to him showing up on my doorstop. When I spoke to the woman, I informed her of my issue, and asked if they gave free quotes - 'Yep, sure do.' When the tech showed up, I informed him of my symptoms, hoping he is to going to diagnosis the problem. I direct him the furnace and he then states he's going to the van for a price sheet. So, after politely listening to his spill, I inform him I don't want a new furnace, I just want this one fixed. He states it will be $6X.XX to diagnosis. I state that's fine, but in the back of my mind, I'm like I guess that lady was confused over what type of quote I wanted. After he stated it would need a certain part, he informed me - that it could be more than that and he wouldn't know until that part was installed and these furnaces are prone to this and that. I have to admit - I was uneasy since the $6,XXX price list is the first thing we go over and the way he was preparing me for possibly more repairs. So, I decided to get a second opinion. Even the wife thought that was bad business, in regards to a price sheet - asking where I found them. Wasn't able to compare total price quotes, cause by the time another company came out - wife reminded me we had a parts warranty on the HVAC. Was conflicted between 3 or 4 stars, as the Tech was knowledgeable as the diagnosis was the same as the second opinion. He was also professional, as he was wearing those disposable shoes when he showed up at my door. But, alas, I didn't go with them...

Cameron responded to my initial inquiry promptly and provided a formal quote that stood out from the rest. Getting quotes from contractors in Tennessee can be a challenge, but Mid-South made the process straightforward. Their prices were reasonable, and Cameron answered all my questions thoroughly and promptly, so we decided to move forward with the work. I do have to mention that the day before the replacement, one of the crew members came by to inspect the ductwork, which required climbing through my attic. Unfortunately, during that process, he accidentally stepped through the ceiling, creating an 18-inch hole. This incident added a lot of extra work to the project, but Cameron, although not always the most timely communicator, took responsibility. He sourced and paid for the repairs, which included repainting the ceiling and an adjacent wall. I imagine it was an expensive mistake for him and his team. Even though I'll have to hire someone out of pocket to fix the lumpy drywall after two unsuccessful attempts from two different contractors, I'm still giving Mid-South HVAC & Electrical 5 stars, for now. The crew worked efficiently to replace the units, all while respecting our shoeless house policy, which I'm sure was inconvenient for them. The new AC is holding up well through the recent 99-degree heat, and we'll see how the furnace performs this winter. We also have a 1-year labor warranty, which I hope we won't need to use.
