I'm honestly not sure where to start with this review. I am a healthcare worker who began…read moreexperiencing Work related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, I came here to begin coping with it on behalf of the EAP program. I started working with a therapist that specialized in trauma therapy. About two months into treatment this therapist decides to leave and seek employment elsewhere. My case was then assigned to a therapist who specialized in cognitive behavioral therapy about a week later I was transferred to a therapist who turned out to be a child specialist. I figured sure go ahead and try out this specialist. I was already going in with a sense of abandonment to add to my existing condition. About half a year with this specialist and the therapist begins to get snarky with me. I hit my breaking point last month when my therapist did not respect my boundary when I asked to switch to a different topic it was met with the response "well we don't have to do therapy today. We can just cancel if you'd like." During our active session. This was the final strike. Not only was I just passed around the office twice but, now I'm being disrespected by possibly the last person I'd ever think would do such a thing. I abruptly canceled any future sessions with this therapist and I am actively going back to better help.

My son (age 5) and I have been going to Essentially You Counseling & Wellness for 6 months now…read more Our goals are centered around behavior therapy and improving social-emotional regulation. Unfortunately, we have been through 4 social workers/counselors in only the last few years: 2 through Early Intervention and 2 in private practice. One thing that I was specifically looking for were strategies and resources to help support me and my child. Emily Reed has been great with providing these! It has been helpful to have her perspective and the resources. Her schedule has also worked with ours. Anyone looking for therapies understands that there are often long wait lists, and evening hours are tough to come by. We were lucky to get in with Emily and to secure an evening spot that worked in our schedule. Emily is a great communicator: she has been super quick to respond via their Spruce app/portal and via email. She has also been great in reaching out to my child's school social worker at my request, and was persistent in doing so when there was an upcoming meeting to discuss the very concerns that we see Emily for. I appreciate her due diligence. They also offer teletherapy services. I have seen Kati a handful of times myself. Because of family and work logistics, the only possibility was teletherapy. Kati worked with me to find a time that worked in my busy schedule. In all, going to Essentially You Counseling has been an overwhelmingly positive experience thus far, and they earn my recommendation!

My counselor was clearly not as experienced as others. I never obtained approval for my short term…read moredisability while I was there. There was no attempt to get after care closer to my home. I drove 60 minutes each way and could have saved time and money and the environment if someone took time to find care closer to home. 1-2 counselors at Foglia and 1-2 Counselors at PHP were good, sadly they were not assigned to me. The behavior techs were 80% great. They were slow to respond when a client lost his temper, yelling, moving closer to his target and calling degrading names to the first older man. A second staff person while in session and me on a weekend evening. I was terrified of him. staff should have asked him to leave after the 2nd strike. He was rude, sexist and mocked other clients. I feel the staff judged clients and did not allow periods of rest even when it was discovered a loved one had died while there. The rooms were nice, the food was good, the chairs in the lecture room were squeaky so everytime someone moved, it was distracting. The grounds were beautiful w ducks, geese and swans. The housekeepers, food servive workers and front desk person were the nicest and most Compassionate staff there. The nursing staff was good, especially Hennia. There was a night nurse, maybe Katie, who was most kind when waking Up clients to take early am medication. All Were Good, it just took a long time ( 2 days to get all Meds available to take. They made it tolerable. The nurses all Spoke w respect To each client. They offered good advice. My counselor shared information with a family member that I specifically asked her not to share. I lost respect for the counseling team. The lead would not let me switch though I told her it was not going well twice. She said she would be my counselor if it still was not going well. I had only 2 days left, so I stayed w the first one. I was there only 16 days and did ask if there was a chance my insurance would approve more days as then I would change counselors and stay another week. I was told, the insurance was slow to extend the first time so they were not going to ask again. That felt dismissive. I was glad to leave. My roommate was lovely and so were other clients. The meditations with Dustin were very good. Keith was nice as was Kim, I just wish they had more staff like them. Lastly; there were repeated issues with night/ morning staff not knocking on doors for room checks when people were changing clothes or just out of shower. It was brought up 3-4 times in group time and staff were educated, just one young man, Said "sorry! I keep forgetting." I think that should be a no brainer to put that person on other duties And NOT room Checks. It is a violation of privacy. I would say if they improved on the items I and others had issue with it would be a good place. It is beautiful, just needs more education of staff and if a counselor is very new, he/she should partner with another for at least 6 mos to learn how to do things and communicate in a respectful way. Thanks for listening.

There's always someone to talk to about how you're feeling and if something is bothering you. Going to this place helped me get back on my feet and find myself again. I've never felt better and I just want to thank Diana, Keith, Charles, Jelani, Sara and of course LIZZIE!!!!! My favorites and such nice people to talk to and look up to. I will never forget what they did for me and how they were there for me during such tough times during the program. The groups at this place are excellent and get you out of your comfort zone to open up to people thy are going through similar situations. Thank you guys so much I'll remember everything I've learned and I'll miss you guys, but I hope to never have to see you again in that place. First and last baby!!! Time for the next chapter in my life. Sincerely, Nathan
