My family of 6 had a scary tire blowout on I-75 on our way home from Tampa to Savannah, GA. We stopped at Mavis in Wildwood, FL at 4:15pm, just 45 minutes before their Sunday closing time. I was expecting to be met with understandably annoyed, impatient workers ready to go home, but we were greeted with friendly, helpful employees that went above and beyond (Buzz Lightyear-style) to help us. I didn't have work done, but I would definitely choose these guys when I do need work. I recently had my car in to the dealer (still has a warranty and free oil changes) and they told me my tires had dry rot and were cracking. They said, while I don't have to replace them right now, I should consider it in the next couple months. They were quoting me around $1300. I only drive this car about 4k miles a year. I had heard good things about Mavis and decided to drop in on a Saturday to ask them to look at my tires. The manager was able to come outside and look at my tires. He said, yes they have minor cracking but nothing urgent. He asked about how much I drove the car, etc. I also have run flat tires (it came with them) and he said - based on how I drive and how much, that I probably shouldn't replace with the run flats. That I could save some money, also, given how little I drive it. I don't need super high mileage tires, as they'll rot before I wear them out. He said, as much as I'd like to sell you tires right now - I'd be doing you a disservice. I SO APPRECIATED his honesty. I told him when I do need new ones, I'll definitely come back to them. He told me come back in about 6 months so they can check them again. I asked for a ball park on a full set of tires and he told me maybe $800-900. I was just really impressed with their honesty and integrity. I will be taking my car there when it's ready for new tires. They also do all kinds of repairs too. Once I'm outside my warranty, I'd definitely consider them for service. read more

March 2026 - purchased 4 tires and a wheel alignment. The job took 21/2 hours ... seemed a little long but the result was good and the price was right. Communication could have been better during my wait and the waiting room had no newspapers or magazines to read. It was clean and it had a TV and restroom. We just had the best experience at Mavis Tire! Our tire pressure kept going down so we knew they was a leak but it had already been plugged once. We brought it to Mavis Tire & Brakes and Scott and Shaun helped us and patched a plug from the inside, even though they could not find anywhere that it was leaking. We had just left Costco where they tried selling us two tires for a total of almost $600! It was refreshing to have found an honest and reasonable business! read more

I do not recommend this location. They are so freaking slow. There are a plethora of techs, two cars on the lift. Mine has been on the lift for more than an hour. just to have a tire changed and I am still waiting. I've never seen so many men standing around and bullshitting in my life. We had a water pump go out on our very specialized suburban and these guys were amazing. They directed us to a tow service that met us within 10 minutes. And the tow truck driver was personable and clean!!! Although we must admit his Ford tow truck shamed our Chevrolet. Brian was amazing and the guys at the shop were very sweet and perfectly accommodating!! They did an absolutely incredible job getting us back on the road safely in record time with reasonable pricing! We love this family owned company!!!! read more

Reference oil change. They were not honest on what oil they provide they said, only synthetic oil, but they have a synthetic blend. Cost should've been $49 for the blend or $59 for full synthetic and they charge me $84. I do not recommend them if they lie about the oil change you can't trust them for anything. read more

Had a motor cover hanging from the vehicle. Called sn they said come over. He looked and said it was a cover that protected the motor. Howard took the car and said it would be about 1/2 hour to fix. He fixed it. No charge. Thank you Howard very honest. read more

I had my car break down on the highway and had my car towed here. I had to leave my car here for a week while it was repaired and I arranged for transportation back to Florida from Georgia. They really helped make my situation a lot less painful. They were kind and responsive to my inquiries on the phone. I asked them to investigate the issue with my car because I suspected the issue was attributable to the mechanic shop that I had brought my car to two weeks prior. Without question, they looked into the issue for me. When I arrived to pick up my car, two mechanics even walked me over to my radiator and showed me what had happened. One of them explained to me that the previous mechanic (at a different shop in Georgia) had failed to bolt down the radiator back to my car. I forget the names of the mechanics that had helped me, but I really appreciated their kindness and willingness to help me understand the issue with my car. Unlike other auto shops that I've been to, I got a good feeling from this one. I felt like I could trust them, and everyone I talked to was friendly. read more

Mr. Allen was amazing. I was coming from Tampa for a family visit, my tire was only a few miles away from a blowout which was scary being so far from home. Action Gator was the only shop open on Sunday so I was really fortunate. I ended up getting all 4 tires replaced which I assumed would take the entire day but Mr. Allen understood my situation and got me in and out of the shop within 2 hours. Action Tire also honored my Veteran status and provided me with a great discount. I don't typically leave reviews but when the shop manager goes out of his way to call you after your service to check on how your tires are running, that is just amazing customer service so the least I could do is leave a review.
