Working with Advice Personnel and Brian S., specifically, has become one such case. I've dealt with several recruiters/headhunters over the past 6 months (I use the word "dealt" very intentionally) and none have come close to providing the level of support, initiative, warmth, and clarity that Brian S. brought to every interaction, no matter how small. Brian was incredibly professional throughout my hiring journey while also imbuing the process with a sense of profound investment on his part. I felt like he had my back at all times and, like any great tactician, was able to keep the complexities and logistical stresses of the process veiled so that I could focus on giving the best interviews possible. Because of this, I landed a great new job at an incredible company. It feels silly to write this about a recruiter but I'll sincerely miss our phone calls. Even when the subject matter might have been mildly stress-inducing (what job search doesn't have it's moments?) I always had a smile on my face by the end. When I contacted her to let her know she wasted my entire afternoon, she then responds with a lengthy rather bizarre phone message apologizing and saying " I know you must hate me" and an email saying "I absolutely understand you're furious and for thinking the worse of me."It seems like I can give you a hundred reasons and it won't be enough, but I just wanted to say I am sorry from the bottom of my heart for "wasting your time" and whatever inconvenience I have caused you, and for accommodating my schedule." No offense but I don't even know you. I was traveling to Japan the following day and said I would be in touch when I return and she tells me the position I was inquiring about will most likely not be available when I return. Yes, which is why I wanted to speak before I left! All very strange, beyond frustrating and completely unprofessional.
