Horrible experience with this company. Taking a picture of your family and you is a personal thing. I had taken a picture with my family when I was a kid 30+ years ago. After all of the pictures they wanted us to take I asked for one of all the family recreating the picture I took with my parents. They refused to take the picture. They said "go to JC Penny and get that picture taken there". Horrible customer service and they don't care about what you want only what they are pushing as a service. For the amount of money they are charging they should provide a better value for the cost. read more

Unfortunately, I have used this company at my school for years (since 2005). The quality and service has deteriorated a LOT as the years went on. Considering the amount they charge customers (for me, as the school owner, it was $180 for an 8x10 photo last year, as an example) A number of my school owner friends have also stopped using their services for the same reason. Two years in a row I had a very disrespectful young photographer come to take pictures. I tried not to be too hard on them (the photographers) as the company puts these young kids up in poor hotels, send them on the road with poor vehicles that break down (happened on this last year's shoot and they had to store their equipment in my studio until the vehicle was fixed) and gives them poor equipment to use (their monitor broke on this last shoot - he asked to throw it in my dumpster. I told him we don't have enough garbage for a dumpster so he left it for me to dispose of when he packed up to leave. Unfortunately I didn't notice he left it until he was long gone.). I called the manager 2-3 times and never could get a return call until.....it was time for another photo shoot the following year. Then they called every other day for a few weeks. Upon finally getting word from the manager, she took no accountability and said I must have had a "personality clash" with the photographer (as a business owner, if it were me, I'd take accountability, apologize, and then try to mend the long-term relationship with my client). In addition, I had a credit on file with them that I would save up through the years to use on postcards. Because I cancelled the photo shoot, she kept my credit and would not pay it back to me (hundreds of dollars). I asked her to "do the right thing" and pay it to me, but I never heard from her again. Action Hero has been coming to the Martial Arts school where my children and I are enrolled for years. A couple of things that really impressed me were that 1) I was expecting them to be photographers to take cool/cute pictures of me and my kids in our martial arts uniforms. I was unexpectedly surprised when I discovered that they actually have real martial arts experience and therefore totally get how to bring out the best in the students to create some really unique shots! 2) The photographers were very polite and professional and their no pressure way of helping you to pick the best options/pics/backgrounds was refreshing and very helpful. My son's karate school hired them to take pictures of the kids. We were scheduled for an 8 minute photo shoot. After waiting 30 minutes they took our pictures, and after another 20 minutes we were able to review them and order packages. Their brochure indicates a comic book photo would be an additional $30, but we found out it was only if you order a $200 package. My son was upset and we were late for another appointment (it had now been over an hour), so I asked if they could hold the photos until the next day. They refused and said if I didn't order something within the hour, then they would delete the photos. I despise high pressure sales tactics, but this is a particularly callous policy for a company that works with children. They expect the customer to be flexible when their schedule does not go as planned, but will not be at all flexible when the customer needs flexibility.
