Went there a couple of years back, sent my laptop for repair, told him i thought it was a high voltage that damaged the board, he then charged me 100$ for "diagnostic" after 1 week, he told me it was the port that was fried. Some context im a computer engineer, i know to repair stuff, but i don't have all the tools needed, and apparently they don't either, after charging me 200$ more and changing the "port" he told me didn't work and he'll order some parts, after another $400 he still didn't know what it was, and told me i needed another motherboard and that would be $1300!, sheeesh not even new my pc cost that, so i declined when i arrived to the store to pick it up, he was telling me all the parts that were changed, he pointed the port, and the heatsink at this point in aware he is trying to scam me, so i confronted him, and asked what the heatsink had to do with laptop not turning on, and he went on that it had components there, also the motherboard was burnt from soldering and removing components, btw you need hot air to remove those jacka$$ not soldering, had to file a dispute with bank to get money back, never leave anything there! They'll steal everything and they don't know what they're doing or have the tools to do the job properly read more

A few weeks ago, my iPad jumped out of its case and landed on its head. The glass was broken across the top, and I took it into Actionlink for replacement. They did a nice job, and I got my iPad back in a couple of hours...but after a few weeks, the iPad starting ghosting and behaving erratically, calling up apps that I didn't ask for, and just being weird overall. I called, and they said to bring it back in..that the original job was guaranteed for a year. An extremely pleasant and professional young man (probably owner Charlie) took my name and the iPad, saying that the frame was probably bent a little from its initial fall, and that he would try to straighten it, and clean the internal components. When I got the iPad back the following day, it was working like a brand new unit, without a trace of its prior craziness. It seems to be working flawlessly. Dude was super cool. Apparently my phone battery exploded...screen was popping OUT of the phone. Came back first thing today to drop it off, took maybe an hour, and was reasonably priced. Phone works great, and just in time for vacation! First time being here, office wasn't the CLEANEST, but you can tell the dude knows what he's talking about, which is what counts in my book. Very pleased! My phone broke on Thursday night. On Friday morning I was scrambling to find a place because I was getting on a plane on Saturday morning, and they were able to get me in and get my phone to turn back on and functional. One of the parts was out of stock, so I still have to go back and have that fixed, but I'm very satisfied. They got me in on short notice. The absolute worst technical support/customer service experience I have ever had. My laptop wouldn't charge and I assumed the battery was fried; I brought it here from a reference and was told it would be fixed in a week. I picked it up a week later, went home to charge it, same problem. I brought it back a little frustrated and was told that it wasn't actually the battery that had been the problem, but the charging port. I was told he would order one and have it ready the following Tuesday, after Memorial Day. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday go by, and I don't get a call. Finally, on Friday, I call and am told it's almost ready to pick up. I got it back and it had *the exact same problem.* At this point I had spent over $200 and waited roughly a month to have my laptop fixed only for literally *nothing* to have been done to it. I returned and confronted the owner about this unacceptable service and demanded my money back. Here's where it gets really hilarious: once I got upset, the owner told me he isn't intimidated by angry customers. In fact, he told me, if I went on Google and read his reviews, I would see that *lots* of people get angry with him, and he said that's because some people can't handle how honest and plainspoken he is. *He actually said this.* But wait, it gets better; I was also told that this whole situation was sort of *my* fault because I had come in initially asking for a new battery because I figured that was the problem. Hey, friend, the entire reason people come to a place like this is because we don't *really* know what's wrong with our stuff. A 5-second diagnostic was apparently beyond the abilities of the 20-year consumer electronics professional. I estimate I spent between $200 and $300 at this utterly incompetent place. I was told that under absolutely no circumstances would I be refunded so if a dozen or so of you considering coming here could go somewhere else and deprive this con artist of every cent I gave him, that would really help me out. This place sucks. Was quoted $160 cost $190 to replace screen. Screen is coming apart. I refuse to take back because it took additional 5 days for the to do such a shitty job. Brought my S8+ in to get repaired as it had a cracked screen. Unfortunately, it also had water damage :( . The glass and digitizer had to be replaced from the crack and at first that was the only repair I had done. A few days later the screen stopped working, I brought it back in and the owner was able to bring it back to life, even with the water damage, with a special treatment he performed to my phone. First, the place looks horrible. So I came in to get my nieces iPad mini fixed. The screen crack with a fall, literally it was just one crack going through the front glass, everything still worked fine. My nieces parents wanted to wait to fix it. But I insisted I knew a place that offers my work discounts on repairs like this! I took advantage of it. Worst decision ever. Anyways I come in and told them I just need a screen replacement! They said sure and told me to come in tomorrow for pick up. I did. When I picked up, everything looked fine but wasn't sure. Stupid me should have turned it on in store to make sure everything worked fine. I was just excited the screen didn't look cracked. I come home and turn it on.. First thing i notice is a crap load of dust under the screen, that pissed me off, thinking these guys are pros at this, second the black LCD film on the inside was chipped and there was a black spot on the bottom right corner, third there was thumb prints on the inside that made it look like black spots everywhere!! And fourth there was a crack on the screen on the top right corner!! Oh man, I was furious! I went back and spoke with the owner, he said he'll take a look and see what he can do. The "Guarantee" there replacements. I take it back and he tells me it will be available next day for pick up. When I come back the thumb prints are removed and some dust is gone, but the broken LCD and the cracked screen on the top right is still there! I said "hey man, what's this?" He said that those damages came from the installation and he can't do nothing about it! I told him that his replacements have guarantees and that he should replace the the screen he said he could do that! I left mad! I came home and messed with the ipad and noticed that the bottom right sensor next to the home button was acting up!! That was it! I called my bank and disputed the transaction! Best decision ever!! The bank told me to send them pictures and write a detailed letter of what happened.. I also sent them his Warrenty on the online store about replacing there broken products! Long story short, I won the dispute and the owner called me saying he wished I would have called him first to try to fix the issue first!! I was like "your kidding right" the guy told me to my face he couldn't help me when i told him the issues the second time when I was in the store. Don't come to this place! It's bad, I still ended up losing, because now I have a defected ipad worst then when I brought it in! If you do go here, be ready to dispute of your product comes out worst! At least your bank will give you your money back and the store looks bad with that dispute on record! read more

Really not impressed. We paid 130 dollars to fix my husband's screen on his S5. The corner had cracks in it, but it did not impair the functionality of the phone. After 5 hours of Action Link working on it, the touch capabilities stopped working altogether. I brought the phone back the next day and was told it'd be about 30 minutes for them to repair it again. A hour and a half later, they were still telling me it would be "another 5 minutes." I waited an additional 20 minutes before they had it ready. The phone appeared to be working fine, however it stopped working altogether the next day - the screen didn't recognize touch at all. We called Action and they said we could bring it back in. No apology, just that we could bring it back. My husband informed them that we would not be coming back and he would appreciate at least a partial refund since they charged us for essentially making the phone worse off than when we originally brought it to them. They refused so we filed a claim with our bank and won. read more

I asked my girlfriend to find a place to fix the digitizer on my note 5 while I was at work, she called up a few places and I believe it was Ique that suggested Actionlink Wireless, as none of the places she called had the digitizer and Actionlink said they had one coming in the next 1-2 days and we had to put down a deposit of $150. Kind of weird, I've gotten my phone repaired a lot and never had to put down money. I started doing some research, and saw that there were many people had reports of their phones being worse off, them having to purchase brand new phones after Actionlink messed theirs up so bad, hair and thumbprints UNDER the LED screen, disputes with banks and so on. One star on Yelp and 3.7/5 stars on google reviews...not good. I also went on Glassdoor and after a couple employee reviews found out that they train their new hires for 5 hours...5 HOURS before sending them to repair phones, no wonder they broke and had so many errors with repairs.. I read one review (J Flynn) on google reviews that was very upset and the response from the owner was,and i'm copying and pasting, "We are charged to cancel orders once they are placed so we can gladly cancel your order & refund you your $ minus the restocking fee that we are charged.... We would gladly finish the repair today or credit you back the partial payment you put down on the repair minus the restocking fee". So I called them, told them I heard some bad reviews, wasn't comfortable having my phone being repaired by them, and would like to get my partial payment back and pay the restocking fee, like the owner had previously done with J Flynn. I was told the partial payment was non-refundable by and they were keeping my $150. For what? What service did you provide? So I told them 2 out of the 3 yelp reviews had to go through disputes with their bank to get their money back and I told them I was planning to do so if I didn't get my money back (sans the restocking fee). I was more than happy to pay 25-50 dollars for them to have to cancel the order, I get that...The employee sighs and says "Alright, what's your order I'll look it up". I was thinking "I'm going to be saved, thank god! Being a difficult customer sometimes works!" I tell him my name and he says "Alright, it's been cancelled, we're keeping the partial payment." They just don't care about keeping business... I was livid, printed out some of the reviews, took them to my bank, and they said I would have my full refund in the next couple days. I pick my girlfriend up from her job, and she said the owner called her back and offered a $100 refund but I had already gone through the paperwork and filed the dispute....I actually felt bad for the owner, it seems like he's somewhat of a decent guy but just doesn't know how to run this business. You can't teach customer service AND how to fix phones in just 5 hours of training. If you come across this Charlie (I believe that's the owner's name) PLEASE invest in your employees, the more you invest in your employees the more customers will do so in your business. Instead of someone paying your restocking fee and having that be it, you now have a disgruntled customer who is posting on multiple sites of the terrible experience and filing another dispute with your company. read more

Action Link Wireless has been a very reputable resource for me with phone repairs on multiple smartphones. He's fixed a charging port, a digitizer, and given me repair estimates for warranty claims on a couple other phones. Each time I've been satisfied with the quality of the work--every repair has stayed repaired. His location on 4700 West was a little shady looking, but his work was good. I haven't been to his new location yet, but I'm sending my husband there tomorrow with his S7 that fell during a basketball practice. His prices weren't cheap, but they seemed reasonable. He's always working on phones but has still managed to get mine fixed and back to me within either hours or a day. read more

I bought a nice LG-V10 phone from KSL.COM, and had been trying fruitlessly to get it to accept the network that I wanted to use for about a week or so. The feeling was that this was an international phone, but the IMEI was clean. There was just something wrong with the phone programming-wise, that was not letting the phone completely shake hands with the network I wanted to use in spite of all my efforts and tricks to solve the problem. Long story short, I came in this place, they "flashed" and "rooted" the phone, and about 45 minutes later, the demons that was preventing the phone to accept the network that I wanted to use were gone. I made a test call while still in the shop, TO the shop, to make sure everything was truly working. I feared that I had bought a glorified MP3/MP4 player with a few more bells and whistles, but certainly not a fully working cell phone. Happy customer guys, thanks again for what you are doing. I recently moved away from Salt Lake and was only supposed to be in town for a week. Brought my Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet in to have the charging port replaced. The woman at the counter said she would need to order the part- which I expected- and that it would be 2-3 days for delivery and 1-2 hours for the repair- again, which I expected. This was on Tuesday. On Friday (day 3) I had still received no phone call from the shop. Which was also not unexpected- mail can be unreliable. On Saturday (day 4) my boyfriend called the shop to inquire, and was told that the part was not in that day's mail, try back Monday (shop is closed Sunday like everything else in Utah). Today is Monday, day 6. Boyfriend called again around noon, and got a response of "Who?? Tablet?? What tablet??". After giving my name three times, he was finally told that they would go and check the tracking number and see where the package was. She put him on hold. After twenty minutes on hold, he finally hung up; a mistake, as it turned out, because now the shop has stopped picking up the phone and is not returning calls on the messages he's left. I strongly suspect that the part I paid the deposit to order was never ordered at all. At this point, though, even if it was delivered in the next 5 minutes I'm not sure I trust these highly unprofessional people anywhere near my electronics. I took the tablet to iFixit on State Street and they have been much more professional so far; also, as a side benefit, their secretary actually answers customer calls. I will eat the $25 I gave to Action Link, in return for taking it somewhere that will actually get the work done and give me back a working tablet. Bottom line, don't trust this place with a deposit of any kind- if they tell you they need to order it, go somewhere, ANYWHERE, else. read more

the worst device unlocker i have ever dealt with. he told me he could unlock my device i paid him and then waited like he said after waiting for 7 for work days he still was not able to unlock my device he then told me a story about unlockers not being able to do this due to a slow down on the service providers side(found out this is a lie). so i contacted another vendor and was able to get the device he told me "was not able to be unlocked" unlocked i will not repeat buisness with them ever again i had to call multiple time and this was over a 2 month time frame not the 15 max days it would take. read more

If I could do negative reviews I would. Took tablet in to get fixed. Paid half up front to order part. I had to call to see if it was in. Took in for repair, after all day of back and forth calls saying still wasn't done. I went to store at 6:30, they closed at 7. Ashley, the employee that thinks customer service is flippantly telling me she isn't done and oh well. I became frustrated and told her they had all day. She said she couldnt get it closed properly. She goes in the back for 30 min and brings it out with the frame not sitting right and the screen peeling up. I said I wouldn't pay for shoddy work. She said I could do what I want. My 9yr old daughter was with me and became upset and asked Ashley if she'd please fix it. Ashley slammed her hands on the counter and told my 9yr old that her mom could pay for it or get the fuck out. I obviously left without tablet. Came back next day where she again refused to get manage. I refused to leave and suddenly she produces manager number who of course never answers. She finally tells me to take the tablet and leave. However now the frame is bent and there is glue coming out from the screen so my tablet is now even worse. Called and left manager several messages. He never responds. Charley the manager had no interest in customers. Clearly they don't care the way their employees treat not only customers but children! But they also have no interest in making it right. I dealt with Charlie. Had a new Galaxy S7 phone that I accidentally dropped and cracked the screen. Charlie told me he could replace the screen and make it good as new with a guarantee from Samsung. He did this for $250. I then took the phone to T-mobile to have them install a screen protector. The agent pressed the plastic protector on the screen, and after that the phone quit working. Took it back to Charlie, who told me that the screen had cracked again, and that it was not warrantied. I'd have to pay another $250 to have it repaired again. If it's in too fragile a state to put on a screen protector once it's repaired, it's not a good replacement. I had to purchase a new phone from T-Mobile - so now I'm paying for 2 phones. Charlie told me he'd pay me $200 and would try to sell it after he repaired it, but it's been 2 months and he's not answering or returning calls. Very disappointed! read more

Literally the WORST service I have ever encountered. Went in to unlock an AT&T iPhone 5 to T-mobile on January 2, and before I begin my story I just BARELY got my phone back Monday, March 13. Ridiculous. We go in on January thinking it was going to be a simple thing, pay $45 dollars to have it repaired, simple deal. NO! Take it home with us that day and it still doesn't work, so we call and ask if there is anything wrong, his employee(I have no clue, a girl who is incompetent) told us that it should be working(duh!) We bring it in the next day and he says to do something on Itunes and tells us "I can't do it I'm too busy" ... ok! take it home and it obviously doesn't work. We take it back the next day and basically say, "call us when it's finished." Over the course of the next two months we called several times, went in many more, and was told each time, "i'll call you soon, it should be ready." Even as far as the girl employee telling us that our "iphone 5 plus" should be working and to call Charlie. We were hung up on, played on, and now I have to warn everyone to NOT go here. Honestly don't know how they are still in business with no service instinct. I know i'm not out a lot of money, but the time spent with this "company" could've been put to better use. Should've read the reviews before trying this place out. I wish I could've given 0 stars. read more
