I broke off a piece from my charging cord into the charging port on my iPhone mini 13 the morning I was leaving from the Sacramento area to Salt Lake City for 10 days. For the first time ever, my iPhone screen smashed when I dropped it in the driveway. I was horrified, particularly because I live in a high-risk household and rarely leave my house during the pandemic. The thought of going to a crowded Apple store or sending my phone away in the mail for 2 weeks (or longer, given the slow USPS and FedEx service right now) made my stomach churn with anxiety. Thankfully, Yelp led me to Wobot! My experience with Wobot was stellar from the first estimate request I sent. He sent me a quote immediately and was able to put me on his schedule for the following day. He was communicative throughout the day and let me know when during the 2 hour window he expected to be here. He texted me when he was on his way and was exactly on time. I explained that I was taking extreme precautions, and Alvaro was more than accommodating. I left my phone outside for him, he worked on it in his car, and when he returned it, he sanitized the phone AND the container I left it in. And my screen is as good as new! Wobot was great. He responded to my email promptly. He was super friendly and nice. He also has a cute dog that was with him. He seems very smart and tech savvy. I would definitely plan to hire him again, if I have phone problems again. With that said, the reason I didn't give him 5 stars, which I think he absolutely deserves, is because I had requested his assistance with a possible charging port replacement. My phone had stopped charging. Before emailing him, I had ran a paper clip through my charging port, trying to clean it out. That didn't seem to fix it. So I summoned him and we agreed to a 59 dollar charging port replacement. However, when he arrived, he took my cover off and I didn't realize it was so gunky and dirty. I was embarrassed. He gave me pointers on how to regularly clean it and what to use. No charge port was replaced, yet he still charged me the 59 dollars plus tax, which I was extremely disappointed that he didn't knock it down to maybe half since it wasn't a charge port issue.
