We bought new construction in 2024. Action Overhead did the original install. The door makes terrible noise, bangs screeches, etc. They came out and said they fixed it. As soon as they drive off the door was the same as before. Its an insulated door but in the cold winter it has terrible condensation and when opened water comes out of every panel. Turns out that Action put in the cheapest doors, terrible installation; tracks not centered, alignment problems, etc. read more

I called for garage repair and replacement for a double and single door. The rep came out and gave me a quote. I had other bills to consider so requested just the repair. They were happy to redo my bid and sent Rick out for the repairs. I received a text with a picture of Rick and when he be arriving (nice touch, Action Overhead!). Rick assessed the doors and determined not all parts needed to be replaced. He was very thorough about the condition of the rails, rollers and cables. He saved me $400 in unnecessary parts and labor. Terrible, terrible, and more terrible at every turn. The initial installation was sloppy, with no cleanup. I filled half of a glass jar with screws, nails, and metal shards that were left in the driveway. It took me weeks to find them all. They also didn't follow the installation instructions on their own form properly and had to redo it. It was some who caught their mistakes. Now, a few months later, the door will not consistently open/close, and they expect me to pay $160 for a service visit. There is nothing positive I can say about this experience. Rick took a good look at everything, and quickly figured out the things that were making the noise and some other problems. Track was off on top right. Rollers were being jerked out and snapping. Rick fixed and aligned track, replaced metal rollers with plastic. The springs were too loose and he tightened them up , and set opener to not pull quite as far up. . All done within an hour. Rick also had good customer service skills and a was a nice guy. I felt very confident the job was done well. read more

Action Overhead Door recently purchased Best Garage Door Co. Customer service is quite poor now. We needed replacement if a damaged lower panel on our garage door. Service representative came out, advised price (which was good) and advised that even though the panel was special order, since we were an established customer (we bought the door from them and had twice over the years had broken springs repaired) there as no deposit required, even after I offered. Katie at the company called the next day advising that she needed a credit card number to order the panel. I told her that was not what I had been told, and I reminded her we had done business with them in the past. I told her I was disappointed, and that I was unsure if we had credit available on our card. we were expecting to pay at install. I was transferred to Dan, and left a voicemail. He contacted my wife directly and told her he would now only accept complete payment since it was now an "issue". He spoke down to my wife and made it apparent that our business was not important to Action Overhead Door. When a company does not do what their representative says they'll do, and then they turn their back on an existing customer, you should think twice before doing business with them. read more

I built my house in 2020, and my builder contracted Action Overhead to install my garage doors. A few weeks ago, my 1-car garage door wouldn't close properly. Upon closer inspection, at least 2 bolts holding the rail had come completely out of the wall! I contacted Action, who didn't seem at all concerned and only offered to come look at it for $160. That seemed ridiculous, so I tried to do my own repair. It appears that the installer had ¼ or 5 bolts actually screwed into the stud behind the drywall! I did some research and found an install manual for LiftMaster garage door openers which said that you should NOT install over drywall, probably because this will happen. So I fixed my own garage door for less than $10 and a couple hours of my time. Action Overhead was not concerned about my problem, even after I sent pictures. They had no interest in correcting their mistake. They don't stand by their work, which is admittedly pretty poor. read more

I had inquired about a new door & opener installation 2 years ago. I had contacted about 5 other companies, and these guys weren't necessarily the cheapest, but they were very fair and had the best communication amongst them all. Rick (the sales guy) was super nice, emailing me back a stupid number of estimates that I had asked for with various configurations and options. He never seemed annoyed with my many questions, and was not pushy. I emailed him back a few weeks ago to push the go button, and he updated my old estimate from a few years ago. Everything was more than fair, and they were able to order my doors, and get it installed in about a month's time. One of the springs broke on our garage door lift. We had to manually lift it to get our vehicles in and out. It was so heavy we thought, "My gosh it's a solid core wood door garage that's why it broke!" We immediately thought we'd have to replace that too. Well rest assured I called and I spoke with Woody. He explained to me that it was so heavy because since one spring broke the other one still had wound up tension on it and more than likely wouldn't need a new door just the two new springs. Since the problem was diagnosed and confirmed over the phone he informed me the rate and he was transparent if there was anything else needed the technician would let me know after they assess the situation. He noted the parts are genuinely pretty inexpensive and gave me a price range. They were able to get a technician out the same day which delighted me. Besides I'd rather lift weights than my garage door! I received a text to let me know the technician was on his way along with a link to track on GPS with ETA. Trent was very nice and informative. He answered all of my questions thoroughly. I was going to pay with a check but he said I could pay with check or credit card as some like to earn rewards. Yes, that'd be me! So I called the office and Eric took my payment over the phone. Action Overhead Garage Door provided pofessional top notch service from the beginning to the end. We have called Action Overhead out a few times over the years for garage door repairs. When it was time to replace our garage door, we called them for a quote. They dropped off product information that day, and followed up with the next day or so. When we decided what we wanted, they came out and took a few measurements. Fortunately they had our door in stock, and installed it two days later. They were very attentive and professional, and are very pleased with the product and price.
