My brother and I called as soon as they opened to see if they were accepting walk-ins seeing that it was Memorial Day and we had no appointments. The person on the other line said they'd be happy to see us and recommended we come in as early as possible so we could work with an artist. This was our first tattoo and we were hella nervous and a little hesitant about the vibe of the tattoo shop since he had done research and gone into some shops in Seattle and they were snobs about their tattoo process, especially for a first timer. The shop was very clean and open, which made us feel a lot better and the people were very welcoming. After showing the artist our ideas they worked on the art for about 15-30min and were ready for us. My brother has a small word on his bicep and was done in about 20min. Nicole was his artist and he had nothing but good things to say about her. I had Ben, I believe was his name, and he was the nicest/coolest guy. I was very nervous and he was able to talk me through it all and made me feel comfortable. We both ended up paying $80 each, which was more than reasonable and we LOVED our tattoos. I've taken my (adult) daughter in for two ear piercings. I am not a tattoo person. That's probably an understatement. Not that there's anything wrong with being a tattoo person, but sometimes it's nice to know who is reviewing what. Only warning - they only accept ca$h.. Anyway, they're nice, they're polite, and it's clean. My daughter claimed they were quick and accurate in driving a needle through wherever she wanted it driven through in her ear. I asked if he could make my Arabic tattoo a little more straight and he gave me my deposit back and said he didn't want to do it because I'm too picky ! I went to Action Tattoo in October 2018 to get some adjustments made to an existing tattoo I had gotten while traveling. My experience at Action Tattoo and specifically, my experience with the tattoo artist Cedar was phenomenal! I would definitely go back. Before going to Action Tattoo, I had gotten my initial tattoo work done at a different shop. The tattoo artist at that shop rushed through the work and left me with a $300 bill and a tattoo that looked bland and unfinished. I immediately knew I would need to go to another tattoo shop to have the piece reworked and brought up to the quality level that's worthy of being a permanent piece on my body. I looked around for good tattoo shops in my area and that's when I found Action Tattoo. I went in for a consultation and I was set up with Cedar. During the process, the artist was slow and precise, really taking the time to get every detail just right. The final piece looks far, far better than what it originally was. It's on a whole different level. I can't stop looking in the mirror at it. Needless to say, I would definitely recommend Action for any tattoo reworking or coverups and I will for sure be going back when I am ready to get a new tattoo. read more

I scheduled an appointment for my tattoo in December for January 12th, today, for 11AM and upon arrival the shop turns out isnt open until 12PM. So I then waited another hour and was then told that my artist was starting to "feel sick" as soon as 12 rolled around and was flaked on. I'm supposed to be getting my $100 deposit back tomorrow. This was a Christmas gift to myself and those who had given me money as a Christmas present. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience. This isn't how business is to be handled. I am currently walking around with a half finished half sleeve after spending at least 1200 so far. Now Archie is an amazing artist. He has done a couple of my tattoos and I have nothing bad to say about the quality of work. However I had made an appointment to finish my half sleeve, and two weeks prior I call to cancel and the female receptionist said I had nothing scheduled. I said okay and thought it was the end. Apparently not only was the appointment not canceled, I was expected to pay a larger deposit if I ever wanted to work with him because I cost him money. I told him I was told I had no appointments and asked if I could make payments and he did not respond and blocked me instead. I am not saying he is a bad guy. He is an amazing artist, but I wish there was more professionalism there. I have to find a new artist now. The art is 5 stars, but the lack of understanding is why I put 3 read more

I completed my third tattoo with Rich White earlier in the year (2016) and each time has been a very positive experience. All of the artists in the shop seem great, but Rich caught my eye because of his portraiture portfolio. Two of my tattoo's are images of cats that I lost, each one looks just like the picture that I brought in. My third is a Steamboat Willie, just for fun :-) I needed a little touch-up on the second cat tattoo because my skin became so inflamed and irritated that Rich wasn't comfortable finishing in one day -- I'll take his judgement any day on that! All look wonderful now and I'm glad I chose these folks. Will definitely continue to work with Rich and the others at Action in the future. read more

I had a tattoo done by Archie last month. He is the best tattoo artist there. He did a tattoo of my cat and had the outline done in an hour. Other artists (at other shops) have taken several hours just to do an outline but he got it done quick. My whole tattoo which takes up the entire area of my inner arm took about 6 hours and it was done in ONE session (aside from a couple touch ups needed due to my arm being DONE with ink after that many hours.) I am very pleased with the service and price, I feel like he could definitely charge more if he wanted. I will definitely go back to him for all my future tattoos including finishing my sleeve. I Have been tattooed by at least 10-12 different people but I am not ever going to go to another artist. Thanks so much Archie. I will add photo after my touch up session. One thing I appreciated was that he would continue to keep conversation going to help distract from the pain, we talked about all kinds of music and it was a great session. Have gone there twice and have gotten two tattoos and a nose piecing from them. Super satisfied with the results. Fairly priced. Definitely would recommend :) my favorite artist is the lady with purple hair ( which I think is the only female artist there). Had her do both my tattoos and am really happy with the results! First off, this review is not about all artists at Action Tattoo, Auburn, WA. This review is about Mike Alvarado. He did an Om symbol on the inside of my wrist. It hurt for 5 weeks afterwards. The lines "bled" out, so I went in to see what his professional opinion was to fix my tat. He was not helpful and rather rude. He redid the entire tat and it hurt sooo bad (first time didn't hurt). The lines are not straight or even. I am VERY dissatisfied w/his work. Now I have this crappy looking tat on the inside of my wrist for everyone to see. read more

This is a great shop in Auburn and the only one I will go to for piercings. Everyone working at Action Tattoo is very professional and friendly. Chris is the BEST body piercer I have ever met. He's the only artist I've known of that will do Dermal Anchors and do them right! He also posts specials constantly if you like Action on Facebook! I love these guys! read more

I dont know how this shop got such great reviews. They need some serious shop etiquette overhaul, sanitation lessons, and I should have ran out the door (but it's on me for not doing so). Extremely rude staff, artist never called me by name, never emailed back when I originally sent my ideas, wasted my time while they all just talked. It's pretty bad when another tattooist comes over when your tattoo is almost finished and says how brave you are to get tattooed by that artists and scoffs that they would never get tattooed by them. So now I have a tattoo that's infected, I feel like shit, watching for blood poisoning, and theres lots of improvement needed to be done on the tattoo (thankfully the tattoo looks salvageable, but I sure as hell wasnt going to let him do any more with it). I've learned my lesson not to trust reviews and trust that an award winning artist would take care on the team that he hires for his shop. read more

So it confuses me when someone wishes such Ill on myself and my family. Unfortunately I won't be closing any time soon. Not will there be a foreclosure on the building. Chris, although crass and loud, is quite a skilled piercer. I allow his eccentric personality because it's a tattoo shop not a Beverly Hills salon. For every one unhappy client there are 100 happy ones. I am confused why you went back not once but twice if it was so bad? Not only was I not satisfied with the outcome but when I came back to get it fixed they were very rude and didn't even try to fix the issue. In my opinion this guy is an egocentric artist with a god complex about his work. My tattoo looks nothing, literally nothing like the design he made for me. Very unprofessional. Very rude staff including the shop owner. I spent 500.00 and I am still walking around with a half finished tattoo. Showed up for two appointments and both times nobody bothered to cancel as my artist was unavailable. First time I let it slide, stuff happens. Second time I was Pissed. Two staff members gave me a lame cop out excuse that they didn't have my phone number I didn't bother mentioning that I'm a smart individual and I remember filling out the release form which has my phone number, I with held that to see if the shop owner would pull the same excuse and he did!!! So he had nothing to say when I brought that up other than sorry lady I don't know what to tell you. Really is that your professional answer!?!? So I ask him to reconsider how I am being treated and to review the email I'd sent that had gone unresponded too. I got a reply within hours -how sorry he was and how much pride he has in customer service. His email stated he would be happy to reschedule me an personally take care of me at a discount. I responded I would agree to the resolution but never heard back. I waited 5 days and finally called back. He was rude again to me and talked to me as if I was the problem he treated me as if I was inconveniencing him. He was rude abrupt and hung up on me. I found this shop on yelp. Don't make my mistake. $500.00 in on this and now I'm walking around like an ass with a half done tattoo. My experience is only happening because I just wanted a quick tattoo that I didn't want to drive too far for, I called to make an appointment with Rich White which is extremely annoying because he is so concerned about the amount of money he is making. He said I could come in to the shop and book an appointment (they only let you book in person wtf). But when I got their this guy Mike says he doesn't know how, but says he can do it. I think we'll everyone here is pretty shitty so I don't want to chance it, looked at his books and they were nasty so I thought well I'll just book so they have my money and I'll just call and get Rich so that I don't have to drive again. Well when I get home the slip Mike gave me says I can't do that, funny thing is I never signed it, mike did. At this point I'm dying at how unprofessional they are. So I call and cancel the appointment, which some girl was really irritated about. Then I said I just want you to know I had a very annoying situation where I came to make the appointment with rich and mike didn't know how and how I didn't even sign the paper. So I just want to switch. Then I heard her go talk to rich and she said he only takes big tattoos but he guesses he'll do it. I said no this whole experience has been ridiculous just keep the money. We couldn't be happier with the work myself and my boyfriend have received from Archie. I have seen a couple different artists and never felt like my business was appreciated. Archie has gone out of his way to make sure we get an appointment booked within a timely manner. He is great at listening to what we want as well as giving ideas from his own perspective in a way that doesn't feel pushy. On top of being a great artist he easy to talk to which is big for me when I will be spending hours sitting in a chair with him. We do not plan of ever needing another artist.
