After inspection, they found several other issues that needed to be professionally addressed. They kept me informed every step of the way with regard to both time and cost. Luckily for me, they are focused on making the car 'right'. An older muscle car is a considerable investment. Nick and Doug have several classics of their own. It is a relief to find a shop that would take the time for fix my car the way that they would want their own classic car be fixed. I will be back to address a few bigger issues when time permits. What is happening to Midas Muffler in Sewickley PA? I have been going there since the 1970's for…read moreoil changes. I am presently very dissatisfied with their service. I had an appointment on Thursday, June 4 at 11 a.m. I have taken my current vehicle to them since 2021 and have always used high mileage synthetic oil in this vehicle. I had previous service receipts with me but the manager of the shift at the desk said they were not required as I was "in the system". I asked if my tires would be rotated as per standard procedure and was told "yes". I began my wait. I observed the technician place the car up on the lift and saw him change the oil. The car was placed back on the ground. I then asked the manager about the tire rotation and the topping off all the fluids. He stated that "they forgot" and would do it immediately so my vehicle was again lifted and the tires were rotated. I believe that if I was not present, my tires would not have been rotated. I did NOT see them top off the fluids. When they were finished with the servicing, I proceeded to pay. Previous charges for this service were in the range of $70-80. This time it only $42. I immediately knew something was amiss. I then inquired as to why the charges were as low as they were. The manager stated that that was the price for a standard oil change and that was what I needed. He claimed Subaru's did not need synthetic oil even though my vehicle is high mileage. My question is if that this is true, why were my previous oil changes of the synthetic variety? I stated that my previous oil changes were synthetic and then and only then did he examine my previous record. So which is it, synthetic or not? He used standard oil in my vehicle without consulting my records beforehand and I am now concerned that this lower grade oil may give me car issues. I have my vehicle serviced with the intent of alleviating any concerns I may have with its operation. I also understand that the customer is "always right" and that either myself or my records should have been consulted before servicing had taken place. I was then told if I wanted to wait, they would bring my vehicle back in and change the oil again. I declined until I can find out which way to go. I would like to know if this is how Midas is now doing business?

Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and you could tell they actually enjoyed being there, which makes such a difference. Nobody made me feel rushed or talked down to, and as a truck girl... trust me, that matters. Caleb absolutely understood the assignment with my Tundra. He took care of my girl like she was royalty, explained everything clearly, and somehow made buying tires feel exciting. Now she's sitting taller on those Toyos and I keep catching myself staring back at her in parking lots like a proud parent. Honestly, the experience was so good I even walked out with a new friend. Another customer, Jim, was in there hyping up Discount Tire the whole time and raving about how good they've always treated him. Excellent service, great energy, and genuinely good people. My husband and I have both worked in the auto industry do we already the tire sizes were able to be swapped, and for that matter both our vehicles are front wheel drive! My husband asked to see the vehicles while they were in the air (to double check), and sure enough FWD. He asked the girl who checked us in if she could just let tech know to double check before they give customers wrong info. She pulled the tech aside and told us tell him yourself, so my husband did. Tech had nothing to say except "ok" and gave him a dirty look. There was no "hey we were wrong we apologize"... just nothing. When cars were done my husband tried to tell the tech have a good day and he walked away and didnt even acknowledge him. We came here because ive been a customer in the past and never had an issue. 1. Not having the knowledge to know the difference between AWD and FWD - not good if youre in the vehicle repair business. 2. Not offering any kind of apology when it was YOUR mistake, just bad manners. 3. Walking away and not acknowledging a customer who was polite but pointed out your mistake and told you that you were wrong - unprofessional. We wont be back.
