In fact, I was looking to buy a new car so I didn't have to think about any random mechanic shops for a hot minute, but I was impressed with this team and their culture. I'm not sure how to transition into this, so we're going to dive right in. Through experience, I avoid business people interactions, and I stay away from the dealers like the Black Plague. I called McKnight Auto and they told me they were "first come, first served", but were already full that particular day. I went in early the next day and opted to drop my car off vs waiting since I had a ride and there were a few customers ahead of me. After receiving their call that my car was ready and passed all inspections, I went in to pick it up. They charged me exactly what was quoted on the phone the day before and we had a nice chat. Friendly staff and seem to run an honest and ethical business. My husband took his car there as well after the good experience I had. He was impressed as well. She was very nice and very informative. She said that they couldn't get me in for an inspection until at least July 8th, because THREE mechanics were on vacation. She said the owner was one of six families that go away for a week every summer, and of course, he gave the other two mechanics off. She referred me to another shop nearby. I have to say, being a former business owner, I would never have three mechanics off in the summer, and as the receptionist pointed out, the last week of the month. That's just poor business acumen. Junior initially talked me through the issue on the phone as I was supposed to drive out of town the next day just to make sure it wasn't emergent. I didn't end up driving this car but brought it in to them first thing in the morning for a look after I got back. Turns out they just need to pop the splash shield back up. They called about 3 hours later and let me know it was done. When they realized this was the only issue, they decided not to charge me. I really appreciate their transparency and good will. Will definitely use them for future car needs because of their honest service. Advise calling in advance for an appointment.
