Our car A/C suddenly quit immediately followed by the gears not shifting properly. We were able to barely make it out of the strip mall. What a blessing! Action Transmission was just about a block of our total drive into their driveway! It was getting close to closing time. The next day the serpentine belt and A/C belt were fixed and our 1999 Honda Accord, (my Baby) was on the road again! Thank you for advising us on the oil leak also. About a year ago-and-a-half ago, my truck's transmission blew up. Without getting into a bunch of mechanical details, transmission fluid spewed into my entire coolant system as well. I had the radiator and replaced and flushed by a different shop than Action. Action then replaced my transmission. After driving the remanufactured transmission they installed, it failed. Without question, they honored their warranty and replaced it with another one free of charge. Not only did they do this, they wanted to make dang sure it didn't happen to me again, and one of the points of failure they thought could've been the radiator that other shop (not affiliated with them) claimed they flushed. I warrantied out the radiator through the other shop, and Again, at their own expense, they installed a new one for me. My family was on a road trip and our transmission started overheating. We got towed to Provo and I found Action Transmission on Yelp. They opened at 8am and I was there by 7:50am hoping they can help. We still needed to drive 7 hours to our final destination. Was nicely greeted by Stephanie and explained to her our predicament. Soon after I met their main technician Lyle and right away he recommended a fix that would be the least costly and hopefully fix the problem. A couple hours later I had my car back and the problem was fixed. Thank God we didn't need a new transmission and I am grateful for Lyles honesty and integrity. I feel like any other shop would have tried to get me into a new transmission that would be thousands of dollars. I highly recommend Action Transmission. Poor communicators. Long on work, short on customer service. Friday 8/27: Turned in my 98 4Runner due to a clanking noise coming from the transfer case. I provided documentation from my regular repair shop on what the problem likely was, plus I made a recording of the clanking noise. Friday 9/3: They put in a new clutch, I paid $1,840 and drove away. 30 miles down the road, same clanking noise from the transfer case. This happened on a Friday night after business hours. I left a VM and learned they are closed for Labor Day Monday 9/4: Labor Day - Closed Tuesday 9/5: I dropped off my car Tuesday afternoon and re-explained, the issue with an updated recording. Thursday 9/7: Called Action Transmission, since I hadn't heard from them onthe status of my car. Joe explained they had 17 cars dropped off on Tuesday and he'd get back to me. No call. Friday 9/10: Called Action transmission to know what's happening with my car, Joe reported that it needs a new transmission entirely and he'd look for a used transmission and call me. Tuesday 9/14: I called them again. The car has now been with Action for the second time and a second a full week. Joe had a day off and no one could help me. They offered to have me call Joe's cell phone, but that's meaningless brush-off. He's not in the shop, can't have car details memorized, I'm not going to call the poor guy on his day off. Called again today 9/15 and was on hold for 15:03 before Austin picked up the phone to say that Joe is out grabbing lunch for the guys but someone will call me back. To my surprise, Joe called me. The solution is an additional $3,100 to rebuild my transmission. He did a rapid-fire sales pitch about the money I'm saving, never addressing the core issue - a mistake on the front end, and I'm now out $4,940. Maybe these guys are great, but the optics look bad on my end. I'm not confident in the work because the prices seem sketchy, fast-talker, and the money I'm "saving". Sadly, these guys don't seem straightforward. When I ask direct questions, I got elusive, quasi-defensive answers. I'd feel much more confident in their work they'd simply done two things: 1. Admit a mistake. "Hey, sorry. We made a mistake in the diagnosis. The problem is worse than we thought, and it's going to be expensive". 2. Call folks back. Do what you say. It instills confidence in the public, who have zero basis of judging the quality of workmanship on transmissions. When you don't call back, it looks sloppy. Sloppy, non-responsive feedback doesn't instill quality in the workmanship of the shop. read more

Had a semi-emergency and Action Transmission was happy to help including free towing and frequent updates. All car repairs are pricey and I don't know what other shops would charge but it was about I expected. They also found another problem which they repaired very reasonably. read more

Extremely honest, friendly and helpful. They stored my car free if charge for several extra days since because I had gone out if town. I suggested a few things that I thought were broken and they told me the things that were okay even though they totally could've ripped me off and charged me for them anyway. I took our Elantra in for a second opinion after the dealership told us our transmission was bad. Action inspected and found that our transmission was fine and worked with another motor shop to find the problem. Had transmission rebuilt 33 months ago. Latest visit was a fluid and filter service. Worked me in last minute on a tight schedule which was superb! Transmission is still running strong even with 100,000 miles and towing some pretty heavy loads up through the Unitas most of the time since rebuild! Did have a valve body failure within 20,000 on a Sunday which they fixed the next day under the warranty with nothing but apology that I had went through that experience! read more

Action transmission worked on our vehicle after a botched job done by AAMCO transmission. They were able to fix the problem within an hour. AAMCO had our car for a couple of days and ended up making the problem worse. These guys new exactly what to do and had the problem solved very quickly and professionally. I would have left a negative rating if possible! My name is Margo Nielsen, my mechanic sent me to Action Transmission to have my transmission repaired. After Joe, at Action Transmission, told me my transmission wasn't my problem but that it needed the right front C/V axle replaced. I informed him that Big O had just replaced it the previous month. His response to me was, "Well you have 2 sides, don't you? I'll fix the bad one, ok." So I gave him permission. Later he showed me a bad C/V axle and said it was the right side. I reminded him that Big O had just done the right side. I told him that I wanted the bad one to show Big O because I had just paid them to replace it. Amazingly, in the back of the office, the actual perfectly good C/V axle he had removed from my car appeared but he told me I couldn't take it without paying him another $100 after I'd just paid him for taking off a perfectly good C/V axle. Two Big O managers and my mechanic took a look at the situation. One of the Big O managers and my mechanic both called Joe. After that Joe agreed to pay for Big O to replace the left side axle. I had the left side fixed at Big O. Five months later, I needed to replace my front tires, so I put new 80,000 mile tires on thinking this would be the last addition to finishing up the front end maintenance. My intention was to keep using my car for animal transport for the rescue that I am apart of. Due to no transmission work actually being done by Action Transmission, my transmission went out. I took it to another transmission shop where I was told to have it towed home because it was unsafe to drive on the freeway. Our rescue was then forced to get a loan to buy another transport vehicle. Joe personally told me that he could take care of that by just shooting the dogs. read more

Called about a transmission and was told they had one on the shelf that I could just exchange mine out with. When I got there they told me they didn't have the right one so we agreed to just fix the one I had. I guess they had several problems with my transmission. I was only notified about the problems through text messages which I thought was pretty unprofessional. After waiting for 4 hours for a response I decided to go somewhere else. I still have never received a phone call. I will never recommend any one to go to action transmission. read more
