Although I don't have any pain, I wanted to see what a 'professional' dentist says. I found this clinic, not through referral or recommendation, but from a flyer I received in the mail. Once there, I completed their forms - the usual things we do as a new patient. They suggested a cleaning so I said yes. Since I had a complete mouth X-ray several months back, I urged them not to take any more X-rays. While I was waiting, I overheard the dentist telling the patient before me that she needed extensive work, but all that could be done the same day. With that much work, I was impressed. In my mind, I'm hoping that I won't need as much work as that poor lady. After waiting sometime, I was called in for a cleaning. The dental hygienist, Jessica was pleasant, professional and understanding. (4.5 of 5) When my turn came for the dentist to see me, he mentioned the amount of work I needed. He didn't spend much time with me, yet he was quick to diagnose the problems. I was in disbelief. My shock must have shown on my face when he said that. A red flag popped up in my head. I clearly just heard him say the same lines to the lady before me. "This is what you need. We can do the work the same day but you need someone to drop you off and pick you up. It'll take about four hours." The dentist then said Suzanne will go over the cost with me. I was shown into another room, and several minutes later, wearing a white coat, Suzanne came into the room. Imagine how dumbfounded I was when Suzanne said it'll cost seven thousand two hundred and fifty-three dollars for the work. I asked if I really need all that work done. She said she can give me $158 discount, and not charge for the sedation, but it'll still be over seven thousand dollars. I checked myself out with the breakdown of the work and said I'll think it over. I reached out to Golden Hill via email to see which tooth or teeth need immediate attention. I didn't hear back. (1 of 5) Needless to say, I opted for a second opinion. The dentist I went to mentioned that none of the work requires immediate attention, but I should watch out for any signs of pain or discomfort. I am glad I got a second opinion. I am flabbergasted that Golden Hills Dental has such little empathy for their patients. To that end, I'm glad they did not see fit to respond to my email.

Dr. O'Neil Tennant has been my chosen physician since October of 2024. She is thoughtful, thorough with her exams, and listens to my concerns. That deserves an 'A' in my book. The visit is for my spouse but I was there with him. Dr. Peter squeezed my spouse in for his emergency appointment. Though the appointment was rushed, we appreciated the limited time he gave us. (4.5 of 5) A crown was needed. Dr. Peter's office is equipped with the latest machines, so we didn't need to go elsewhere or wait too long for the crown. In fact, it only took three working days before the crown was affixed. (5 of 5) Jeneice did most of the work. She was gentle, calm, and efficient. (5 of 5) Overall, we are very pleased with the results and the professional attitude of the staff.

But Ryan was able to show me on a scan exactly why I needed the root canal and gave me the confirmation I needed. If you can have a specialist do your root canal over a general dentist, I would highly recommend it -- and Dr. Ryan Franklin & staff are the best! He even let my daughter look through his microscope and took the time to make her feel special. I hope you never need a root canal, but if you do -- go see Dr. Franklin.

I remember the sounds of screeching birds (that was actually sound from a high-pitched whine caused by the drill). I'm glad the dentists I see now do not use those tools. The other thing I detest is that bright overhead lights. I may have watched too many sci-fi movies because those lights look like an alien space ship hovering over my head. However, my fears were dispelled when I saw Dr. Franklin. He was kind and gentle, answered my questions and spent a good amount of time with me. I went to Dr. Franklin for a second opinion. The good doctor allayed my fears of the work prescribed by the other dentist that I saw. He explained in detail the pros and cons of dental work, and the time to get the work done. After a thorough examination, Dr. Franklin said I have a gentle bite. Overall, I've had nothing by superb assistance from this office - from Sierra, at the front desk, to Grace, who took the Digital 3D X-Rays. What would they find? Why are they doing that? But I believe I have an awesome hygienist at MACT. Ali is professional and has great presence. After communicating with the insurance company, I called to schedule an appointment with Ali, the dental hygienist here. I feel very comfortable under his care. Ali explains what he's doing in detail without my prompting. I explained my previous situation to Ali. I mentioned that I had difficulty understanding what that dentist said and to see if I could see another dentist. Ali referred me to another dentist at the same office and even assisted me with the scheduling. Ali vouched for that dentist, and I trust Ali. I'm getting older and took a chance with Golden Hills because of the Yelp reviews and let me tell you they are the best! Not once did I feel like I was being judged, and the level of care was fantastic. They came up with a game plan for my future surgeries and care, and a strategy to bill my insurance to maximize my benefits. Can't say enough, if you're in the area see Golden Hills!

Dana, front desk, is very kind, professional, accommodating, communicative & understanding when I had to schedule & move appointments around. Carolyn is a jewel; knowledgeable, kind, healing, and will give you the right exercises and game plan for your "home work". Pauline is such a gem as well. Very caring, makes sure that you're progressing, very down to earth and fun to talk to and I will truly miss working with her. I attribute most of my progress to her! And there's Karen, who I didn't get to know well enough but definitely a wonderful healer that "made the cut" as being another amazing addition to their team. They truly have the best staff ever, and even rotate music genres so you have some decent music playing while you're being treated. I am glad I am almost all the way healed now, as I thought my injury was permanent so the progress was truly a surprise. He was always there to assist me in my practice caring for my patients, and is one of the hardest working and always available physicians I known. In the many years he has practiced in Oakhurst he has worked for several medical groups, some of which have had serious management problems (CMP especially), but Dr Schaffer has always been there for the people of this community. He has has dedicated his life to providing healthcare for them. My thoughts and prayers are always with you, Dr Dan. Thanks for all you've done these many years and all you do!
