Slow urgent place I've ever been. Went here and got an appointment on the phone and by the time we our on our way they called and told us they accepted another patient and just wait around 15 minutes. Who does that? . Next thing you know we were waiting for one hour and half. So disappointed with this place. My mom was very ill and waiting didn't help. After that they told us to go to cvs to get our medication and to find out that location was close already. We double checked with her if she is sure that it's 24 hours PHaRMaCy and she said yes. tHe STOre is 24 hours not the pharmacy!. Anyways we have to go 30 mins away to get to another location to get my moms meds since most store are close early since it's Sunday that night..... though the nurse was nice. I had excruciating neck and back pain and they sent me off site to get some X-rays done (which is fine), but the imaging center mentioned that they gave the doctors the results of the scans three days ago and the doctor still hasn't given me a call Lorene (a nurse at this location) is awesome and is super nice. She tried to do everything she can and followed up with me a few times asking if the doctor has given me a call yet. She's been trying to get the doctor (Christine?) to call me for days now, but I still haven't heard from Christine. She's the only redeeming factor that this clinic has going for them. I think this is completely unacceptable considering that they've had the results for several days now. We have to pay so much for medical care and it's extremely unfortunate when you don't feel like the doctors are treating your issues with any urgency. It only takes a few minutes to call and let me know what the results are. Some cons with this clinic: - They have nurses but all physician assistants are offsite so you have a video cal with them. It's super awkward because the video sometimes cuts out and the PA isn't able to assess you in person - it only took ~10 minutes to get me connected to a PA but I've read that it sometimes takes close to an hour - They have close to no equipment here so you have to do any screening at another site read more

So I had an appointment with this location at 4:30 and I called earlier that day to ask a question about the appointment and mentioned the time was 4:30. They looked up my appointment under my name and didn't correct me when I told them my appointment was at 4:30. I arrived at the appointment on time and the doctor was extremely rude. She told me my appointment was at 4:15 and argued with me for 5 minutes till I walked out. She told me that I never spoke to her directly, but that made no sense because when you call, you talk to the person making the appointments, but why would I ask to speak to the doctor? Anyways, I was explaining to her exactly what I made the appointment for and she was still confused and gave me so much attitude for no reason. I don't know what her problem is and the fact that what I needed help with would've maybe taken 10 minutes, but she was so admin about them closing at 5pm when there was absolutely nobody else in the waiting room. Not sure if she just woke up on the wrong side of the bed or is dick deprived but extremely unprofessional and don't think people like that should handle patients. After going to one of their locations in San Jose for a infected scratch from work, I thought I would follow up at a location closer to home. Biiiiiig mistake. Their call center assured me that the Rancho Cordova location would have someone that was not only qualified to do a consult, but to drain my infected elbow (bursitis), as well. Nope. Drove clear across town for nothing. They could perform virtual consultations along with the LVN that originally saw me but did not have a physician physically overseeing the LVN at this location. Aside from a consultation & writing a prescriptions, they can't do anything for you. Totally useless. When I called their call center, again, to see if the Lincoln location had a physician, they said only the San Jose locations do. The San Jose location that I went to, when they opened, took 3 &1/2 hours just to fill a prescription for a basic antibiotic. The LVN did not include the overseeing physicians DEA # so the pharmacist took 45 minutes just to get it filled. Avoid Action Urgent Care locations at all cost! read more

The most important and potentially life saving medication was missing instruction from the Doctor Roger Pittman in San Jose. We didn't think much of a minor delay and decided to take the meds they had on hand. We checked in later and the nurse and pharmacists can't get a hold of anyone at any number provided. After another night of no sleep and weezing we checked in the next morning it is now afternoon and the doctor is unable to correct his mistake. Now we paying AGAIN to be seen by urgent care. We are trying to reach out to Dr. Roger Pittman 1375 blossom Hill rd San Jose. In hopes that maybe this will get his attention sooner than the direct line. *****EDIT**** They reached out to me to further discuss the issue after describing how I wasted my money they forgot to apply insurance until another staff member intervened and never gave my gf her inhaler (it's been weeks at this point) they have not gotten back to me via email. I cant get over the malpractice of this organizations. I'm waiting for an excuse but so far they don't even have that. Just blatantly accepting their incompetence. Nurse and virtual doctor were very nice and very helpful, but I would not recommend giving them your credit card number!! After a visit, I was sent an email bill with a link to pay. I did so, in full. Have bank statement to prove it. Two months later, I am billed again, the same amount for the same service! I call the number provided at the bottom of the email bill to dispute the charge, and am told that I have to call billing. I thought i was calling billing. This is the number YOU provided to dispute the bill! The first number they gave to try just transferred me around about three times and then dumped me into voicemail and the other number's box is full. There was also a "replies instantly - tap to chat" option which I tried - nope, did not work. Called number listed on email bill again, and this time the person actually checks my records, and she says "looks like the patient balance has been paid." She also said all she could do to try and fix this was email billing department and tell them the same, which she did because she cc'd me. I am taking no chances with this company, and have called my bank to stop any further payment to them. I understand mistakes can happen, but when they do, you should not make it so hard to rectify! If you use this company, my advice is buy a Visa gift card and pay that way. Save yourself from out-of-the-blue double billing and all the stress and hassle you will have to go through to fix it:( read more

My first visit to Action Urgent Care in my local Safeway was easy, fast & very convenient! Kristen provided great, personable service. It's a tele-health experience using new tech and video conferencing on a large monitor for the doctor consultation. I didn't feel that it took anything away from the experience - actually like it better. I wouldn't go there for serious issues, but they are well-suited to handle basic concerns, lab testing, etc. And it's nice to be able to just walk 15 feet over to the pharmacy afterwards. Happy with the whole experience & would definitely return. Way easier than my previous doctor visits! read more

Just wanted to provide an update. I was contacted by the VP of Provider Relations because she wanted to get details about all the failures during my visit. She acknowledged they've been having issues and even said the nurses that worked with me are no longer with the company. She acknowledged my visit was a failure, due to the doctor not being able to communicate with us and none of the instruments working, so she couldn't actually do a check-up. She said she would send my case over to the billing team to help with a refund. I never heard back (incompetence), so I called them. I spoke with a rep, she said she'd research and call back in an hour. That didn't happen (it seems like incompetence is a theme at this company). I called again. This time somebody was actually more helpful and she contacted the VP that I spoke with. Turns out they are actually NOT going to refund me because a doctor "technically" made the visit. SOOOOOOOOO dishonest. This company is complete trash. They charged me an outrageous amount for a visit with a doctor that I couldnt hear and that couldnt inspect me due to their technological issues. This place is GARBAGE. They will LIE, CHEAT and STEAL to and from you if you let them. 1st off a "video dr" that is allegedly in San Jose or San Diego, wherever they said is just plain STUPID. That FACT you will have to sit there and WAIT for one from anywhere between 15 mins and an HR is ridiculous. 2nd. They will tell you on the phone your visit will cost you the deductible they charge when you get there "and that is it" and then FIVE MONTHS LATER they will send you a bill full of LIES and FRAUDULENT 'upcharges'. 3rd. I went in for an ear infection. They looked in ONE ear. Didn't see a problem, gave me a Prescription for some rather expensive (and completely UNNECESSARY) ear drops. When I went back for the follow up they decided maybe they should look in BOTH ears and what do you know. The ear infection was in the other ear even though symptoms weren't there. You'd think a DOCTOR (even on a TV screen) AND/OR a 'nurse' or whatever the office person is would KNOW symptoms can manifest in 1 ear while the problem is in the other ear. I'm given another prescription and scheduled another follow up. I come in a 3rd time with an appointment an sit there for 90 mins before being seen again and the 1st thing she says is we're charging you another visit. I refused. I had already wasted close to two hrs waiting on the "Dr's" on the TV and then another 90 mins sitting in the lobby. I was unwilling to wait ANOTHER 45-90 mins to see a "Dr" on a TV screen. So I left. FIVE MONTHS LATER they start HARASSING me for a $239 bill including "after hr charges" when I was NEVER seen "after hrs" and if I DID end up there "after hours" that is due to THEIR terrible time management. Not because of ME. If I could give 0 stars I would. If NEGATIVE stars were an option I would use them. DO NOT GO TO THESE THIEVES. They will FRAUDULENTLY bill you MONTHS after your visit. My FICO score went from a 754 to a 646, and I'm pretty sure it's because I didn't pay their FAKE charges. If that's the case the LAWSUIT for FRAUDULENT BILLING will be going their way VERY soon. HORRIBLE would be an understatement. Went there at 9:30 - they open at 9 - and waited about 30 minutes before a pharmacy worker said I should call (note Action rents the space and is not affiliated with Safeway - the pharmacy workers were AMAZING and apologizing). Once I called the girl who answered said she'd call the person who was supposed to be there. I literally had to ask her if she was going to call me back so I knew if I should stay or go. Pharmacy worker came back out about 15 minutes later to check on me and said I should call them back since I still didn't hear from Action. Called back and the girl who answered essentially said the same thing so I requested to be on hold while she tried to reach out to the person who was supposed to be working She couldn't get ahold of anyone to find out what was going on and said I should just keep waiting or schedule an appointment. 4 stars if it's a holiday and you're not in a rush: I made an online appointment for 9am President's Day, because my doctor was unavailable that day. The website did caution that hours may vary due to the holiday. I took a chance and scheduled the appointment anyway. The location is a small office inside Safeway next to the pharmacy. When I arrived, there was no one there except one other patient who also had a 9am appointment. The other patient called a phone number for Action Urgent Care and confirmed that someone would be there soon. A male nurse arrived about 9:20am. The other patient was taken first, and his visit lasted almost an hour. I was finally seen around 10:15am. The nurse was excellent. He was friendly, knowledgeable and took good care to understand all of the symptoms of an eye infection affecting both eyes, He shared his proposed diagnosis of my condition. I expected the next step to be a prescription for medication. It was then that he told me this is actually a virtual clinic with no on-site doctors! At first I was disappointed. I guess I missed that information when I was setting up the appointment. I agreed to proceed to the next step. I was asked to go back to the waiting area while the first patient was taken in to connect with a remote doctor. I was brought back in again around 11am. I provided my insurance information and after a brief wait for the remote doctor to become available, we were connected to a female doctor in San Jose. The nurse had previously shared all of my information with the doctor including a photograph he took of my eyes. The doctor asked me a few questions and agreed with the nurse's diagnosis. She wrote a prescription for eye drops. I requested that the prescription be sent to that Safeway pharmacy. We finally left the office around 11:20am. My prescription was ready at 11:40am. Now, 24 hours later, after using the prescribed eye drops, my eyes already look almost completely healed! Overall I am actually pleased with the care I received. But I sure am glad that I wasn't in a rush and that this wasn't an emergency, because this appointment took up my whole morning. Their website advertises "average wait 15 minutes". From my experience, this wasn't really Urgent Care. I waited 75 minutes for care. During that time I probably could've driven to any of several other Urgent Care options, and maybe I could've been seen and released sooner. But, I chose to see this visit through. read more

I would like to leave no stars, but that's no possible. I arrived there about 7pm on a Friday night. The lady asked if I had an appointment, which I did not. She stated she had two others who had appointments and they close at 8 so she didn't think they would be able to see me. I stated the website, indicated they take walk in until 7:30pm. All she could say was Sorry, I can schedule an appointment for the morning. I told her if I wanted to be seen in the morning, I would have made an appointment for the morning. Don't know how the doctor is, as far as, medical knowledge as I went somewhere else. The only advise I can give is make sure you have an appointment even though they advertise walk ins accepted. read more

This location is the best location that I've ever been to in terms of an urgent care facility. As I walk through the door immediately was greeted by Desiree very very professional and nurse that is here at the location she did all the things that she normally was supposed to do in addition to that she made sure that I was comfortable at every turn. The most important tenant to me that I want to express is that she made me feel like a regular person the human component that was presented by Desiree is something that I actually admire in a facility such as action urgent care I just want to say this facility will always have my business and to be honest I've acquired a new friend she's a friend of the family now and I think that's how life should be with that human human exchange we definitely can go a lot further read more
