This is a review that I should have written 9 months ago but, better late than never. Caution, this…read moreis long! In October of 2019, I spent 10 days in the hospital in Southern California while visiting family. Having just moved to Northern California, I did not have an infections disease doctor and had never had a reason to have one. I was very ill and was very lucky to still be alive. In order to be released from the hospital, I had to have an infectious disease doctor close to home that would accept me as a new patient. This was no easy task and my wife spent 2 full days on the phone trying to secure a doctor. It was beyond measure what she was going through to get a doctor to take me as a patient. The red tape and road blocks that all of the doctors presented, made it look like we were going to have to spend 6 more weeks in Southern California while I completed infusions as an outpatient. This is where Dr. Kailath enters the picture. My wife found her on line and called her office. She was greeted by a welcoming staff that was sensitive to the situation and for the first time, we had a front office staff that had a can do attitude. After many phone calls between my wife and the staff, they had everything arranged including the outpatient infusions. In an age where doctors have less and less time for patients and seem to have forgotten why they became doctors to begin with, Dr. Kailath is the exception. From my first visit, it was clear that we had found the right doctor! She saved my life! She is a true professional and her knowledge is second to none. Her caring attitude and understanding for what I was going through, made my road to recovery smooth. To say I was in good hands is a huge understatement. She was everything you could ask for in a doctor! If you are reading this then, you are in need of this kind of specialist. Well, look no further! Many, many thanks to Dr. Kailath and her wonderful staff! You gave me the opportunity to be around to write this review.

Update: still a poor choice for family care. My kidney issues seem to be stabilizing and improving…read moresince I got off the meds Moser had prescribed ( for 30 years). I fail to see how a Dr living in Spain can be an effective personal doctor. They have associates, I'm sure. If you want to be taken care of by a consortium of Dr's, that your business. But I would prefer one person, one person to rely on and to compliment or complain about when things go wrong. You should not have to see your Dr thru a two dimensional tv screen. I thought I had a reliable San Francisco doctor. He turned out to be the money grubbing type that flew away from San Francisco at the first chance his patient's money would allow.

I've been a patient for many years. Unfortunately for me I'm back at Kaiser, which is better insurance but less good care. Someday I'll be back. In the meantime you should take my place. Why? You ask. Because Maura provides excellent care. She and the staff are smart and they aren't your typical "get through the day" employees. They all seem to enjoy their day and each other. Plus, what really makes them exceptional is their sense of humor. This is a nifty treat for those of us who savor this human behavior. It's hard to get it right. Too much and it is contrived and distracting. Too little and it's, well, humourless. Dr Moser's office gets it right.

If I could give an establishment negative stars for a review, it would be this place. I normally…read morewouldn't be this harsh with a business but this is a doctor's office and you would normally expect a good experience from a business that provides health care services to the community. If I were to honestly describe my rating for this place, this review would be filled with profanities describing the awful experience we had with business. Let me preface this with a little background. We were coming to an appointment for a member of my family which required a little sensitivity from our part, but more importantly the doctor's office. In light of what we were being seen for, we were not instructed to take any special preparation or measures before arriving. As soon as we walked through the door a nurse ran up to us, in an alarmed manner and said you have to put this mask on. We were definitely caught by surprise. She was instructed by the individuals at the front desk (receptionists) to do so. Receptionists have no business instructing a nurse how to handle patients. We expressed our concern with the nurse and she mentioned that she was told to do what she did by the receptionists which made the situation more clear, but still not right. The nurse continue to make us more comfortable in the office and the appointment continued. Moments later, Dr. Marvin Gatz came in to see us and with hopes that our visit would improve, it only became worse. Dr. Gatz didn't show any interest or compassion towards the situation and didn't even think there was any concern after we told him how we were greeted in his office. This office and it's staff have absolutely NO tact, compassion, professionalism, or have any business serving our community. The were completely blasé about the whole situation and we were absolutely disgusted with the experience. We have informed our representative with the Department of Public Health and can assure you that we will continue to bring negative attention to this office. Interesting enough, we just received a call from Jodie, the receptionist and she continue to exhibit very unprofessionalism and insensitivity when working with us.

Cannot recommend this doctor. Perfunctory and ultimately dismissive manner. Was unable to help me…read moreand I had the feeling he wasn't particularly interested in trying.
