Really bad experience. Unnecessary tests, sending tests to out of network labs, landed up having to go to another Urgent Care for further diagnosis. Details: went it for sinus infection that was still lingering after a course of antibiotics. Right after walking in they did a Covid and Flu test. I told them I took two test already, one the day before and another that very same day. $100 bucks gone (on top of the urgent care visit cost). And the provider didn't even take my sample properly. Barely touch my nose. Then they took a throat swab for a sinus infection. I would have thought a nasal swab for bacterial culture would be more appropriate. Same thing - barely touch my throat and sent to an out of network lab. $550 gone. Then a follow up call to go over the results that lasted 5 mins. $100 bucks gone. In the call the provider literally says either you don't have any infection OR the previous provider didn't take the sample properly. Like that is literally your job!! 2 days later, I went to another urgent care that prescribed me another course of antibiotics that actually cured the infection. I've been fighting for a reimbursement for over 6 months and everyone's passing the buck. First of all, they can't enter or update important data needed for insurance. I've contacted customer service and have talked to people many times on the phone with screenshots and photos, but it's still not fixed. Obviously, with the situation it needed to be elevated higher up. The billing managers don't even know their own contracts with insurance (regarding submitting claims within a certain time frame). Again, passing the buck of who's doing to lose out on the hefty sum I'm owed. In addition to their incompetency, they're inconsiderate. Why is someone calling to "follow up" at 5:47 am on a Friday; it's not an East coast number. After that, no one answers the phone AND there's no option for a voicemail. It's all very shady. The front desk staff at this location is incredibly unprofessional and lacks basic knowledge about medical billing. The female staff sitting on the right side of the desk was extremely rude. When I checked in, I explained that I had already met my Out-of-Pocket Maximum for the year and didn't owe a copay. She condescendingly sneered and cut me off, arrogantly asserting that I was confusing it with a deductible and that copays are always mandatory. She completely dismissed me and forced me to pay upfront. Her dismissive and mocking demeanor felt distinctly discriminatory, as if she was intentionally trying to belittle me. What's worse, another employee came out from the back and quietly corrected her, telling her that I was actually right. Instead of apologizing and fixing her mistake, she lazily told the person assisting me, "Just bill it," simply because she didn't want to bother reversing the charge. She is clueless about insurance policies, treats patients with a deeply uncomfortable, biased attitude, and is too lazy to correct her own financial mistakes. Avoid this location. read more

Cat was the most helpful representative I've met at an urgent care. Was very direct and quick with problem solving when I had confusion over pharmacies and next steps. I had to go back in a handful of times to ask questions and normally I get really nervous after the stress of the day and on top of that having my body be in discomfort. Cat was so genuine and kind; it made me feel lighter and supported amidst the bodily pain I was experiencing. Even after interacting with her and Bella at the front desk, Bella was so engaging in conversation when taking vitals n such- made me feel so much more at ease. Thank you guys sososo much!!! This place is a hit or miss. It really depends on who's at the front and which provider you end up with. The front desk can be helpful or completely aloof and inexperienced. My recent experiences have been terrible in the regards to getting my medication. I recently tested positive for RSV and the provider at Action called in a steroid inhaler for my lungs. I went to get it at CVS and it wasn't covered by insurance, so I had to contact action for alternatives. This was a complete nightmare as firstly, it takes hours for them to track down the provider and fix the prescription. Once they did it, they selected the one that was not covered again. Eventually I had to just go there in person to fix the entire mess. After 12 hours, 6 calls, and one in person visit, I got my inhaler only because the pharmacist at CVS talked to the provider directly. I was insanely sick and needed my inhaler- and it took 12 hours to fix this mess. This is worst quality of care a patient can get. Urgent care sis for urgent circumstances and care should be top notch. Overall, a huge hit or miss here. You need to come in prepared and good luck contacting anyone after the visit. read more

Incredibly shocked that this place is still open. None of the staff seem like trained professionals and I think the way this business operates is borderline illegal. I never leave yelp reviews, but this urgent care is not safe! The facility isn't sanitary. A nurse practitioner incorrectly put an otoscope in my ear, and without much evaluation prescribed me antibiotics. I immediately went to another doctor, and they said my issue was just impacted ear wax. They proceeded to remove it and resolved my issue. read more

My son went into the Hamilton Av Urgent Care to have 3 stitches removed. He asked if they took Blue Shield, They said yes. He waited 20 min then saw the doctor for 6 minutes. They billed Blue Shield for $602. He paid the $20 copay. Their paperwork does not make sense. The addition is way off or unclear. I believe it states the Insurance paid$510.16 and that we owe an additional $213.22? Blue Shield says that they are out of network. They (UC) told my son otherwise. They (UC) said it is not up to Urgent Care to tell you that information. Why would Blue Shield pay them anything if they are out of network? This was not "after hours" and 6 minutes for 3 stitches. July 2025 I went to Urgent care on Blossom Hill Road. I have no complaint re the care I received. Shortly I received a bill for $40.00. I went to the office on Blossom Hill Road and paid $40.00 Sin ce then I have been harassed continually asking for payment. I have been to that center with my paid receipt but they keep forwarding me to their office on Hamilton Ave. I phoned that office on 3 occasions and I also mailed copies of my paid receipt via USPS. I was referred to this action urgent care after experiencing mistreatment at the Blossom Hill location with the fill in PA, Robert. They were able to explain what I was diagnosed with but forgot to prescribe me a part of my medication. I called them multiple times and was referred back to the blossom hill center but still have not received a response about my complaint or the fact that they DID NOT prescribe my full medication. The pharmacist noticed i was missing a medication and advised me to call action urgent care back but NO RESPONSE. I call and call and no answer. I believe I am on the blocked numbers list because my bf called once and they INSTANTLY ANSWERED. I call them again last night and a lady tells me that my pharmacist is the one that forgot and made a mistake. WRONG!!!! ACTION URGENT CARE IS AT FAULT. I have complained to the patient specialist, Jennifer, multiple times and after all of this mistreatment, I AM NEVER GOING BACK! My appointment was on DEC 6th, they only told me i was prescribed two medications and an inhaler. On Dec 7th, they sent in another prescription last minute that I complained I was MISSING!!! They never told me what medication it was and still blamed my pharmacy for being late. THEY ARE THE ONES WHO SENT MY PRESCRIPTION LATE WITHOUT NOTICE AND MY PHARMACIST IS THE ONE WHO FILLED MY PRESCRIPTION INSTANTLY. My visit on July 15th was for an annual health check, which should be fully covered by insurance. However, the bill was incorrectly coded, and I've been charged $110.28. I've spoken with multiple staff members including Jillian, Joyce, Zalyka, Jaden, and even involved my insurance provider (Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield) and Quest Diagnostics, all of whom attempted to help. Yet, Action Urgent Care has failed to follow through on promised updates or corrections. Their automated billing system is frustrating and unresponsive, and even after being told the CPT code was corrected, the bill remains unchanged. I've been promised callbacks and email follow-ups that never came. Long review incoming.. if you want the tea read till the end :) The MA came in to let me know that there were 3 patients ahead of me. I had another appointment that was after this one, I needed to know a time frame so I could come back another day if it was going to take awhile. The MA said oh the doctor had to do something pretty major before my appt so I was understanding. I had somewhere to be at a certain time so I wanted to leave and come back the next day. She was so sweet she said no no it shouldn't be more than 30 minutes. We spend around 15 minutes per patient so I had now 2 people ahead so she thought around 30 more minutes. More time went by and I just gave up. I waited for over 2 and a half hours.. Mind you this was for a RECHECK not even a full on second visit just a recheck to see if my meds were working. The doctor finally comes in super nice dude. Ends up saying I need to go to a specialist. I still had pains so he said " I will prescribe you a different type of medication". He kind of talked about the previous doctor I had saw in a very weird way. "I don't know why this Dr prescribes this medicine for this infection she does this all the time" it makes no sense on her end and she needs to stop. So I thought that was weird why are you talking about another doctor and her decisions? Anyways, my appointment was pretty late in the day and by the time I had gotten out, I had to go to my other appointment. My boyfriend went over the next day to the only pharmacy that I use and nothing was filled. Weird? So long story, they never filled my meds. I called the urgent care and they said "well since the doctor I had seen wasn't in they needed to reach out to this new doctor to see if they would feel comfortable writing me a prescription". Ok fine. Come to find out homeboy never wrote any notes and nobody called me. Keep in mind, this is day 7 of not receiving a call back. So I call to cancel my virtual check in appt that was set up, because I'm not spending another $250 to be told my urine came back fine. They pressed me and pressed me as to why I don't want the appt and why I want to cancel and all this bs. So I told her the care here sucks and I'll never return. Seriously do not waste your time here, the MAs are really sweet but the lack of communication and note taking is just bad. I never got meds and then I never got a call back. The wait so was so long I think because they were short staffed doctors wise. But still let me leave and come back another day if it's going to take that long. I was injected TB PPD test at 2:45 PM on May 5, 2023 Friday for renew my TB Clearance on my health screening. I have been working with children in schools and with individual families for the past 7 years in Silicon Valley. My old TB Clearance expired this year. I needed the TB result for working as an admin at a school. They charged $150 for a TB PPD walk in, which is outrageous for this type of routine test. I went back to check at 3 PM on May 7, 2023 which was about 48 hours past the injection. There was a small bump and the practitioner did not know how to read. She found two more practitioners come to read. They seemed having no idea how to read a TB PPD from a patient who has a Chinese background and whose birth date fell in EPI program including BCG vaccine that rolled out in China since 1978. The third practitioner came to check said, "I know some old people who had BCG back in China, but you do not look that old." The way she conducted her questions to a patient was unexpectedly unprofessional. Due to their own ignorance in BCG history in China, they decided I had to come back the next day again. By 2:45 PM on May 8, 2023. I had a 15mm induration as they measured. I printed out all research papers that I found regarding BCG vaccine history in China to show them not ONLY old people from China had BCG vaccines. BCG was actually one of the four category 1 vaccines that was included in EPI program, a free vaccination program, implemented by China since 1978. The EPI program has been added many more vaccines since 1978 till present day. How ignorant and unprofessional these practitioners were that they did not have enough professional trainings to work with diverse patients in Silicon Valley. I had three TB PPD negative test results from De Anza College and my physician from years ago. Back then, they were fully aware of BCG vaccine history in China although I could not remember if I had BCG vaccine as a newborn. My physician told me that people at my age got BCG vaccines back in China. After they determined that I was positive of TB PPD. I was referred to have blood test again which would cost me $145-150. They also wanted to write down positive TB test result on my health screening sheet provided by the school. I refused them. They wrote their facility name and address on top of my Health Screening Form where it was supposed to write down the school's name and address clearly told me that they did not know how to fill out a form properly. Most importantly, they did not even bother to ask how to fill out the form and wrote something incorrectly on it already made it void. Their poor understanding on why people needed a TB test and did not even understand how to fill out a Health Screening form after charging patients $150 was unparalleled. I called several clinics and found one in Campbell that they only charge $47 for TB PPD. I called them and discussed my result with them. The Campbell clinic recommended to get a X ray straight because if my blood test turned out positive because of BCG, I needed a X ray for evaluation anyway. I went to the Campbell clinic to get a prescription for TB X ray and went to a radiologists medical group nearby right away. Luckily, I got my X ray done the same day. Both clinic charged reasonable amount for what they offered. I was very happy with their genuine services and helpfulness. On the second day May 9 morning, I received a lab result that I have no evidence of active TB and everything else was normal and healthy. I'm so glad that the Campbell clinic recommended an affordable TB X ray exam that saved me not only money but a lot of time and hassle to deal with Action Urgent Care at Hamilton. I understand that the clinic did what they were supposed to do and the practitioners were not the ones to set their price. However, as health care workers, their lack of empathy as a team and lack of proper professional knowledge to do their job and serve diverse patients were absolutely not an experience I would recommend to any friends or foes. read more

I scheduled an appointment here for today, seeing that this clinic is a 3 minute drive from my house and they take my insurance. I was experiencing excruciating pain in my left ear, swelling, and some hearing loss. I arrived on time for my appointment to a completely empty office. The only people there were the employees which I was surprised by, as normally urgent care centers are always busy. Not that it matters too much, but the inside was very sterile and the seats in the waiting room reminded me of the kind you see at the bus stop. After I checked in I was ushered in by a male nurse to take my vitals and ask me about my symptoms. He was actually professional and very nice. The doctor, Olivia, was pleasant at first and asked me about my symptoms before checking out my ear. I kid you not, the first word out of her mouth after she looked into my ear was : "Damn!" This made me nervous, was it something really bad?? And I also thought it was a little unprofessional - but I digress. They cleaned my ear out and then she looked at it again and said it was an outer ear infection and she would send me a prescription for both ear drops and antibiotics. Seeing as my symptoms were new to me and felt severe, I asked a few follow up questions which seemed to annoy her and she quickly sent me on my way. As I left - I asked if I needed a prescription paper to take with me to Walgreens. "No, it's sent electronically !" I drive over to Walgreens and ask about my prescription. Shocker !! They don't have it ! I call the AUC phone number, and someone tells me they will message the doctor to have them re-send it in. I wait for 10 minutes - nada. At this point the Walgreens pharmacist tells me to ask them to call it in. I call the AUC number again, and this time I press for them to call in the prescription. The person in the phone tells me that there's some sort of situation that they're dealing with but they will send in the prescription again ASAP. She tells me if I don't see it in the next 10 minutes, to call again. I wait for 15 minutes and finally get a call from someone who says that the system is down for whatever reason and the electronic prescription is not going through. She tells me she will call it in and then call me back. Finally - about 10 minutes later, she calls me and says it got called in. (Which is what I asked from them in the first place !!!) At this point, the pharmacist is finally able to start prepping the medications, which took about 30-40 minutes. I was so frustrated at this point but relieved to finally have them. Here is the cherry on top of all of this : I got a missed call from Walgreens about an hour after I left the pharmacy, so I called them back. The pharmacist tells me that the person who called in my prescription from AUC made a mistake on the dosing. They prescribed me to use 4 TIMES the dose needed. Even the pharmacist was shocked and told me that these sorts of mistakes are rare and unacceptable. Thankfully - the pharmacists at Walgreens are doing their due diligence and I'm so grateful that they took the time to call me and fix this. Overall, a bad experience. The whole point of going to urgent care is to get care (and your medications) urgently !! Not only did it take forever to get the medicine, but it was prescribed incorrectly. (Side note: on my Kyla app, my discharge instructions say N/A and no medications. Terrible !) read more

What I received here could not be considered medical care, in fact, it was the complete opposite advice of what other legitimate doctors I consulted afterward told me (went in with a very textbook case of mastitis). If I had trusted this person at Action Urgent Care who was googling my symptoms on her personal phone in the exam room, it could have been detrimental to both me and my daughter's short AND long term health. The provider asked me what medication I'd like to have prescribed because she didn't know, stormed out of the room when I asked to see a doctor, and was flat out rude the entire appointment. For having to be at an urgent care, my partner and I had a great experience!!! They close at 9pm and we arrived at 8:45pm. We didn't feel pressured/ they weren't in a rush at all. He had a work injury on his toe and we really needed to get him some help. The front desk, assistants and doctor were all ladies and soooo sweet!!! We both have never been here before and worried about the insurance situation. We realized since it was a work injury, it would be a "workers comp claim" and they walked us through that process. They're quick to help and it was also a clean facility (waiting room/lobby and the actual room). I also liked the bright orange wall. Sort of obnoxious but I liked it for an urgent care! Gave a bit of life to the place instead of seeing a gray or brown boring depressing wall. Truly a great positive experience and I loved the care they provided my partner. They charge you ridiculous fees for a simple Covid test. I've taken numerous Covid tests elsewhere since the start of the pandemic and my insurance covered them all. I went here for a drive through Covid test on a Saturday afternoon (1pm) And months later, I received a bill for "Services provided in an office during regularly scheduled office hours, evening weekend or holiday." Unheard of. Never going to an Action urgent care for any type of medical service or Covid test ever again. read more

This place is operationally broken. Came in on a slow Saturday afternoon to get prescribed paxlovid. One physician assistant onsite with 6 other staff (assuming some were nurses and some admin). There were no other patients onsite. Took more than an hour to get tested for Covid and prescribed. Prolonged waiting times in both the lobby and patient room. And I could hear 6 of the staff chatting away and laughing for a long time. Seeing so many other 1 star reviews dating back pretty far appears to be a long term issue, and seems staff does not care about patients and unsure whether anyone from the clinic is reading and taking any action. Better training is needed urgently. Will not be back. read more

I visited action urgent care on 12/26 to follow up on a work related injury. I attempted to call before visiting, but was not able to reach anyone to schedule an appointment or check their wait time. I waited 45 minutes to be seen (not bad at all) and was taken care of promptly and appropriately. What was not prompt or appropriate was the follow up care, I received no proper documentation of work restrictions emailed to me nor was my chief complaint addressed. It has been 1 week and I have yet to know what my restrictions are despite working 50 hours already. Poor communication and lack of follow through with clients is unacceptable in any field of occupation, let alone the medical field. Update 1/2/22 Attempted to call again (7 days after initial appointment) to cancel upcoming recheck and was unable to reach anyone. read more
