Would choose 0 stars if possible. Strongly suggest avoiding this provider. A family member of mine recently had a new patient appointment with her as they had to find a new physician. After their visit, I spoke to them on the phone and they shared how hurtful and upsetting their visit was. Specifically, they shared that the way she communicated about their health not only felt unhelpful, but extremely hurtful. They felt judged and surprised when she suggested various recommendations for being overweight without asking any real questions about lifestyle, weight management throughout their life, successes, challenges, etc. She jumped to extreme solutions like a liquid diet and surgery, when overeating has never been something they have struggled with. They told me over the phone, pausing as they cried, "If I wasn't mentally stable, I would have left and killed myself." This was not something they had ever said before so wasn't them being dramatic - it was because their time with Dr. Borodulin was so painful. It was also shared that the Medical Assistant was extremely unprofessional, not saying anything when they came into the room to take BP and then yelling the numbers down the hall. I am a former Health Center manager, as well as a public health professional. I am also the wife of a physician. I understand patient care, the training physicians go through, and the responsibilities physicians have to their patients. Flippantly suggesting surgery without discussing previous challenges or success is absurd, as is suggesting a liquid diet for fast weight loss. I cannot stress enough what a terrible experience this provider created and would avoid seeing them at all costs. read more

Her strong professionalism, knowledge, proactivness continue to save lives, improve well-being, and help us focus on the proactive healthcare! Both of my elderly parents are with Doctor Borodulin, my daughters and nieces, and many other family members. Dr. Borodulin is an amazing doctor. She literally saved my life few years ago by catching a problem early.. She is really great diagnostician because of her amazing attention to detail. Not many doctors are able to pay attention to many small details as well to see the whole person, I think she is really smart and one time she caught a medication mistake that my cardiologist made. I feel that her recommendations are always right on target. I trust her. She has great communication skills, always patiently answering all my questions. Her staff is friendly and helpful. When I went for the first time to Dr Borodulin's practice, I thought that I found my primary doctor. She was friendly and she ordered blood tests to find out why I did not look good. During the second visit she had the results for the blood and she found out that I was vitamin D deficient and she gave me a heavy dosage of vitamin D and then I continued with small daily dosage. I mentioned to her that I had a pain close to my left ear and she gave me a referral for Dr Troy Follmar.  Plus a pain in my ribs (costochondritis) for a pain doctor at the Stanford pain clinic. She admitted that she had not a clue what was that all about. Then she prescribed heavy medication for fibromyalgia without any serious diagnosis.   When I went to Dr Follmar I found out that his skills were only about teeth extraction. What I had (which I found out many months later) was a post-herpetic neuralgia from many cortisone shots, that I had taken the previous years. Meanwhile Dr Follmar was only 30 years old, without experience and not only he had misdiagnosed me with joint aspiration but he did not numb the area when he was poking needles next to my left ear and I was screaming from the excruciating pain.  During the third appointment I described to her my experience with Dr Troy Follmar. She felt guilty for sending me to the wrong doctor. Then I told her that, I am not intending to take the fibromyalgia pills because I felt improvement with Vitamin D. At that point she got upset and when she saw that I had a paper with some questions in my hands she refused to answer them and she became furious. Then she told me that I need to find another primary doctor because I see many doctors.  Meanwhile that summer I had signed up for swimming at the Westgate Cabana Club. I was the only adult that was swimming in the pool in the afternoons and I paid the price. The rest of the swimmers were kids between 4 to 16 years old and after they finished at 6 pm, it was time for adults or better for me. There was no time to clean the pool from whatever the kids left inside the water (use your imagination), so basically I was swimming in a polluted pool. After one or two weeks I had frequent bowel movements each day. And I thought that the problem was temporary, but after so many months I called Dr Borodulin's office for a visit for a stool test. When I got there, I went to the room with my lady friend and when the nurse was taking my vitals she opened the door, pushed herself in, sat down, interrupted the nurse and she asked me "Why did you come here again" I said I will let you know, if you let the nurse finishes with my blood pressure first. She quiet down for a minute or two, then I told her that I have severe problem with my stomach and I have 4 to 5 bowel movements per day, several days a week and I need a stool test. Few days later her nurse called me to tell me that I had giardia and she prescribed antibiotics. By the way giardia is a tiny parasite that causes diarrheal disease. People who are at risk are the ones who swim and swallow the parasite in contaminated water. (In case you thought that I came to see your beautiful(?) eyes). Another time she told me that I was depressed and she was not good enough for me. Dr Borodulin now it is time to tell you that when I was a DJ, for 15 years, I NEVER said to the bride to be, "I'm not going to play music for your wedding, because you are depressed or ugly or whatever, and I am not good enough for you". Did you hear that? How nasty can you be? Did you ever cross your mind that people, could be depressed either because they have lost a loved one or they have been closed to death through a heart ablation or they have experienced both? According to my humble opinion, she has no compassion, no bedside manners, no respect for anybody and she is also rude, angry, arrogant, cruel and depressed. I was 10 years older than her and not only she was playing me like a yo-yo, but she was treating me like a little kid. She had the audacity to insult me and humiliate me. After so many years of practice, she is at the point which she hates her job. She thought that she would get away with all this abuse, but I reported her to my insurance when they sent me, a survey questionnaire about her. Since you feel so powerful in your position, continue to scorn your patients, send them to the wrong doctors, prescribe the wrong medications for no reason and if they disagree with you or if they have extra questions, dismiss them. If God has a Master Plan, I hope He is not going to use you as a doctor in your next incarnation. read more

She does not have the warmest personality, but she is very professional, has a keen mind for diagnosing problems, and I really like the way she thinks. I will NEVER go back to Dr. T. Borodulin's office. My experience was terrible. It was my first-time visit so I came to Dr. T. Borodulin as a new patient for a medical examination, primarily to get blood work done which is 100 percent covered by my insurance as a preventive visit. Yet the doctor billed me as an office visit and charged me $181 despite that she's in the network or my insurance. In the office I waited for the doctor for 25 minutes in an empty room, then T. Borodulin came. Within a few minutes of the actual visit, she wrote me a referral for the annual blood work and asked a couple of questions regarding my health conditions. That's it, that was the end of my visit to the doctor, there were no consultations, treatment, or procedures carried out. This visit does not cost $181. I recommend finding a better doctor than T. Borodulin. Do not go there unless you have spare money to share with Dr. Borodulin. Seems like the office is more concerned about getting your money, and not treating patients. Stay away! I will never recommend this office. read more

I was Dr. Borodulin's patient for over 16 years, when she suddenly 'discharged' me from her practice, when I questioned a diagnosis on the Visit Summary from my annual physical. The Visit Summary had already had an error which I'd had to ask to have corrected, listing Obesity as one of my diagnoses, when my Body Mass Index as noted on the same page clearly did not fit into the definition of Obesity, also noted on the page! This action has caused me great emotional distress and a lot of time and energy - filing a grievance and following up on it with both my health insurance company and SCCIPA (Santa Clara County Independent Providers Association), as well as having to find a new doctor at the age of 65, when I thought Dr. Borodulin would be my primary care doctor for the rest of my life. Reflecting on this event, I regret not having filed a lawsuit against her for medical malpractice when in late 2011 I fell from a height onto my back, suffered a burst fracture of the lowest thoracic vertebra, but was told, when I called her office after the weekend following my Friday night visit to the ER, that neither she or the two doctors then part of her practice had any openings for the next two weeks, after which she was taking two weeks off for Christmas. But I was told I didn't really need an appt. because 'there's nothing that can be done for a fractured vertebra". A week or two later someone reminded me that a vertebroplasty can repair a fractured vertebra, but after being turned away by Dr. Borodulin when I initially requested an appt., and it being 'the holidays', it was not until the end of January that I'd had an MRI & was able to meet with the doctor who ordered it, to discuss the findings. I was told that I'd had a 'burst fracture', more severe than the usual compression fracture, and that the treatment was to be in a brace for the first 90 days following the injury. It had already been 60 days. I am permanently stooped, with a big lump on my spine, cannot stand up straight, lost several inches of height, and now have balance problems that are probably due to kyphosis of the spine (extreme 'dowagers hump'). I did not leave Dr. Borodulin's practice after this incident because I was too overwhelmed by the sequelae of my injury, and I did not want to have to find a new doctor. I had tried to like her, and thought she liked me. I found her a bit cold, but being from a different cultural background, I made allowances for this. I overlooked the uncaring response I'd gotten when I tried to get an appt. after the biggest injury of my life. Perhaps fearing I would sue her, she was very nice to me for a long time, suggested I apply for SSDI (Social Security Disability) and signed off on the necessary documents. Once eligible for Disability, I thereafter became eligible for MediCare. After being dumped by Dr. Borodulin, I received a certified letter from her practice. It was a form letter with a list of reasons why a patient might be kicked out of her practice, with boxes next to each reason. For me, "philosophical differences" had been checked. If we really had 'philosophical differences', wouldn't they have become apparent earlier, rather than after 16 years? However, another box, not checked for me, was 'we are not accepting any more MediCare patients'. To me, this implies that no matter how long you have been her patient, when you get to the age, or condition, that you are on MediCare, she may give you the boot, kick you to the curb. Is this even legal? Isn't this discrimination against older people and the disabled? I realized that Dr. Borodulin had an incentive to get me out of her practice, since MediCare reimbursement rates are lower than, at least, my health insurance plan was; plus now that I was on MediCare, two entities, instead of one, had to be billed, and it might take longer to get paid. I wondered if I had frustrated her because some of her recent diagnoses and treatments of minor problems (thumb joint injury, for example) had proved to be wrong; or because I'd found my own surgeon for a foot problem rather than going thru her; or whether I'd aroused her disgust response because of some of my health issues. I am disillusioned and disgusted with Dr. Borodulin, and after the way she has treated me, I cannot recommend her as a physician. I think she works as a doctor to earn a good living, not because she really cares about her patients. She struck me as particularly high-falutin' at my last appt. with her; a fancy watch that was also a phone; a fancy manicure; & I Iearned that living in a single-family home in an old Campbell neighborhood had not been good enough for her, and she had moved. She had been impatient and talked down to me in the last appt. She seemed conscientious but in the end, she kicked me to the curb because she & her staff made errors and I asked that they be corrected! About half of her staff do not seem very competent. read more

Earlier this year I contacted Dr. Borodulin's office to see whether they would accept the health care plan we were planning to sign up for - an Anthem BlueCross Preferred DirectAccess PPO plan purchased "off exchange." (This was right around the time when California residents were legally required to sign up for health care coverage through Covered California or an off-exchange plan or be subject to a fine.) The key thing the office manager needed to know was whether it was an Anthem BlueCross PPO plan and whether it was purchased "off exchange." The perception I got was that off-exchange plans paid out higher rates than the new lower-paying Covered California plans. I confirmed that our plan was one of the premium "off-exchange" plans and the office confirmed coverage support. We went ahead and signed up. When my wife called today to schedule her first visit, Dr. Borodulin's office turned her away. I called back and spoke with both Stella and Carla (the office manager). While Dr. Borodulin's office accepts some Anthem BlueCross plans, they apparently do not accept on/off-exchange plans and Pathway PPO plans. Wasn't the point of Covered California and Obamacare to provide broader health care access to California residents? Yet, here we are being turned away after having confirmed that our plan was "accepted" by Dr. Borodulin's office and after paying a hefty monthly premium of $1,238.31 for "premium access" to health care. I am very disappointed with Dr. Borodulin's office. I can't speak of the medical treatment, because we didn't get that far. I get the sense that the office only accepts plans that pay out high rates (that means no plans offered through the Exchange and apparently not even my plan that was purchased "off-exchange"). How disappointing and misleading. I would not recommend Dr. Borodulin's practice for these reasons. read more

I found Dr. Borodulin via Yelp, on the basis of her good reviews, her hours, and location. I didn't know what to expect since there seems to be this love her or hate her attitude on Yelp, no middle whatsoever. However, as you can see from my rating, I LOVE her! I started seeing her in October 2013 as my PCP. I hadn't taken care of myself in literally years (thanks to unemployment and no insurance). I knew I was diabetic and had some other health deficiencies, but I didn't really realize how extreme. You meet with her first for a consultation, which I have never done before, but I found it very comprehensive to understand everything about my medical history and to get to know me. Never had I had a doctor take actual TIME to listen to my concerns. They usually look at the chart right before they walk in and are out 5 minutes later. She spent a good half hour with me and ordered a complete blood and urine test. I saw her a week after that for the results and promptly put me on necessary meds and supplements. To make a long story short, after an ER visit, she saw me the same day to get me started on a more intense regimen. My body was failing me. I was VERY scared. She took her lunch hour to check on me and instruct me how to do self-injections. I thought she was extremely caring. Sure, she's straight to the point, but that's what you NEED in a doctor. Get better! I don't get the cold attitude people some Yelpers are describing at all, and if you can tell from my other reviews I'm VERY picky. She spent a good amount of time with me after a very nerve-racking day. She promised me I would be much better by Christmas, which honestly I doubted. However, I was proven wrong! She ordered blood work to be done after the holidays which I did the beginning of January. My results were discussed yesterday and they improved SO much! Drastically improved! She remembered she told me I'd be doing a lot better by Christmas and we were both very happy about it! I know I'm writing a novel here, but you must understand I've never had a doctor like her. And I've had a few that never took care of my health needs, as she managed do in 2 months! Her staff are amazing as well! Stella and Star are sweethearts. The patient portal the office uses is convenient too to email you appointment reminders, view test results, shows your visit history, etc. She also sends prescription directly to the pharmacy of your choice by computer while you visit with her so it's ready to pick up shortly after you leave. There also happens to be a Walgreen's right next door too if you want to get your meds there. One stop shop! I can't imagine better care anywhere else. Make an appointment! I am a huge fan of Dr. Borodulin. Yes, the stuff from my previous experience happened, but we stuck it out and she really is a great GP. She really doesn't push the prescriptions like is so common now, always asks the right questions, no nonsense. Also she is very responsive on the user portal, and has even provided prescriptions without the need of the obligatory office visit. Also, the staff has gotten much better over the years. The office has been very accommodating, and I was able to get in to see Dr. Borodulin the same day I called. She is very professional and thorough, and also quite friendly. A friend of mine has recommended Borodulin as a primary physician since her grandparents seem to like her. It took me a couple of days to persuade my grandmother to go. I should have stayed away. First of all, their receptionist is extremely rude and inpatient over the phone- completely unprofessional. Secondly, Borodulin kicked my grandmother out as soon as she found out my grandmother had medical in addition to medicare. My grandmother had high blood pressure at the time of the visit. Since when is kicking patients out appropriate? If she did not want to accept medical, she should have charged medicare and offered a self-pay option. Dr. Tatyana Borodulin is by far the best doctor Ive ever been to. She is tough and gets right down to the issue. Ive been here for several different things and she was able to either find something that takes care of the issue or get me an appointment at another clinic that same day. After I had a concussion she was very quick to act and get me everywhere i needed to go to to get my head scanned and blood tested. She also called my house several time to check on me and guide me through the process. Another thing i like about this clinic is that they work with some great doctors that they can recommend to you.. this way i always feel safe when i go to see a new doctor that specializes in what i need to be seen for. read more

I went to see Dr. Borodulin for a physical. I was really impressed by her thoroughness. She was very very detailed and took the time and diligence to explain everything to me. She never missed a chance to give what I call: high availability treatment. If she knew I had an allergist, she still did the work of giving me an oxygen test for a baseline and noting my meds. If she knows you have a gynecologist, she still does a breast check. Who does that these days. They would just check a box and move on. But she approaches things more holistically, wanting the baseline for her own knowledge and that is exemplary. Totally thorough in every sense of the word. I can't believe it took me so long to find this office. Her staff matches her energy and love of what they do. Not a less than positive experience from the front end through the physician. read more

I have been going to Dr. Borodulin for something like 20 years now as my PCP, which should tell you something right there. I agree with the comments that she is no-nonsense and gets right down to issues. I believe that she is professional and friendly, as opposed to professional and cold, but I can see how it could take some time for each of us to get to know the other for this to be realized. Over the past couple of years, the office seems to have improved, in part at least by moving to a more electronic system: they now have ways to communicate via email and website, their voicemail gets responded to in good time, and prescriptions are now submitted electronically. I have had at least half a dozen different medical insurances since starting to see her and have never had the slightest problem with her office accepting my coverage. read more

I had Dr. Borodulin as my PCP for a few months but that was enough. You can not get an appointment unless you schedule it one month ahead of time. As someone mentioned above, nurses are rude and talk to you like they are doing you a favor. There was only one girl there who was nice and actually did everything she could to help me. Other then her, very rude and unprofessional staff. My former girlfriend would have to actually go there and raise hell so they would see her teenage kid who had pneumonia. Otherwise they wanted to consult him over the phone (prescribe some antibiotics and cough syrup). I can go on and on... Bottom line is: I do not recommend this office at all. read more

Dr. Borodulin has been my Dr. for the last 4 years. On my first visit I was hesitant because her office is in a very untraditional location, in a strip mall upstairs. I was truly in bad shape that day suffering from extreme stress as my boyfriend at the time was involved in a very serious car accident where his life was on the line. Honestly, I did not feel she was completely understanding of my stress level. She did however provide me with a medication that helped get me through. My next visit was for a physical, where she was very engaging and helpful. After four years now I can honestly say that I feel completely comfortable in her diagnosis and proactive approach. I even found she has a sense of humor behind her professional demeanor. Once you get to know her you will never want to go anywhere else. Also the other two doctors in her practice are very good and can fill in when I need an immediate appointment for illness. read more

Dr. Tatyana Borodulin is by far the best diagnostician I ever met in my life and I met a lot being a son of a doctor. Her diagnosis is always 100% accurate and more than once after she identified the exact problem, lab tests confirmed her initial verdict. For example, she diagnosed rosacia and suggested a treatment which I first was not sure about. So I went through 7 (!) dermatologists in a course of two years only to settle on her initial prescription as it was the only one that worked. She really cares about patients and never hesitates to tell you the truth. She does not try to coat it and I really like that. She is always straight to the point and although she is a busy doctor with a busy practice she will make her available on a very short notice if you have some serious problem. read more

I have been a patient of dr. Borodulin for 3 years but this was my second time going since the first time she didn't really do much for me. I went in to have an annual and told her I might have an infection, which she confirmed through my urine. Then told me since I feel fine at the time nothing needs to be done. I told her my lower back hurt, which could be my kidneys but she reassured me that they were not located there. I asked her if she could send in my urine for further testing to make sure that it is nothing major, she agreed. The next morning I woke up in pain, sweats, and mild fever. I didn't think too much about it until it progressed. The following morning things got worst and I called the doctor to see if my urine was retested, she said " Oh it is long gone.." So I had to go to a lab to turn in my urine again, today I received a call saying that they did not test me for what they were suppose to at the lab (miscommunication with lab & Dr)... Great! Last night I was in such an extreme pain I couldn't handle it. I called Dr. Bordoulin's office and was redirected to a night doctor who recognized my symptoms and prescribed me antibiotics. I asked her if she receives MANY PHONE CALLS FROM PATIENTS OF DR. BOURDULIN - and she said YES!!! Something seems very wrong here. read more

She is the best doctor ever!! I cannot brag enough about how great she is. She is super smart, incredibly caring and very generous with her time. She will call at night and check in on you. Who does that anymore?! She won't even hurry you off the phone. She will explain things until you are comfortable. I've had her call me and talk for 20 minutes at 8pm at night! She's like an old school doctor that really cares about her patients. She's got a bit of a tough persona which belies her HUGE heart!! She really takes time to find out what is really wrong and doesn't jump to hasty decisions. She's also incredible at giving you all the information and allowing you to make your own decisions. My husband got COVID and was hospitalized and she checked in all the time and kept me posted when the hospital wasn't giving me info. We've been going to her for around 20 years. My husband was so blown away by how she fought for him during his hospitalization. I can't thank her enough for her amazing care of me and my husband. Do NOT go to this doctor! She prescribed my 25 year old daughter Adderall, Lexapro, Zanax and Valium!! She ended up at deaths door in the hospital for a month!!! Frantic for answers my husband found the pills in their original bottles with Dr. Borodulin's information on them and took them to the hospital. Her new doctor told us she should never have been on any of those pills especially without a psychiatrist seeing her, too! Dr. Borodulin's response 'I'm sorry' The new team of doctors got our daughter healthy and happy and told us not to go to her again! To make it even scarier, our other 23 year old daughter, who saw Dr. Borodulin too, moved out of state and found a new doctor there to refill her prescriptions. She found out Dr. Borodulin also put her on multiple pills that were all wrong! She misdiagnosed another child of mine!! This daughter has a thyroid problem that Dr. B never diagnosed and again treated another daughter with Adderall for her fatigue!! Really? Dr Borodulin put me on Paxil , a heart medicine plus an allergy pill. I was a walking zombie!! Thank God our new doctor checked us out thoroughly because he found my heart medicine dose way way too high!! It took me 6 months to get Paxil out of my body, and no more allergies because of diet changes. We are all healthy and drug free now, DO NOT GO TO HER! read more

Doctor Borodulin herself might have been even 4 or 5 stars, but her clerks sucks big time. I moved out of the area, made an appointment to see another local doctor almost two months in advance. New doctor sent fax with my signature asking to release my records - turned out one my signature is not enough, I need to sign another release form (same info, different logo). I did. It took several days to send forms back and forth. Then I was charged $25 for them copying my records. With still two weeks until my appointment with another doctor I thought it's enough time. Big mistake! They did not warn it'll take them 30 lazy days to make copies and send by regular mail - I found that the day before I expected my history will be available for the other doctor's appointment. Why the hell didn't they say they have other important stuff to do, and former patient's needs are low in their priority list? You made me mad. Get your 1 star for that. read more

I've been with Dr. Borodulin since I was little. She used to be a really good doctor, but now that she has a lot more patients it feels like she doesn't care. I got really sick last summer and I have a history of bronchitis/ pneumonia and I went to her office. First of all, I had to sit in the waiting room with a fever for 45 minutes until she took me. Then she spent a total of 3 minutes with me where she didn't even make me get a blood test or chest x ray to test for pneumonia. She just prescribed some antibiotics. Within the next two days I got even worse (I had already been sick for a total of a week at this point) and I went to see Ponedelnikov instead, who sometimes works at her office and was so nice and took time for me. He had me do a chest x ray and blood test and found out I had pneumonia. Because Borodulin didn't bother to do a full procedure with me, I ended up having pneumonia for two weeks. She's an intelligent doctor, but she just doesn't seem to care anymore. read more

I will start by saying if I could give her a zero star, I would. Every time I call for a medical situation that needs attention sooner than later, I am constantly given the on call Dr. to see. Not only is my own "so called Dr." to busy to see me, but she is also too busy to follow up with me even when I see the on call Doctor. Will say, Props to the on call Dr. ! I've been going to Tatyana's practice for about 3 years now. My sister recommended her and I thought, well, maybe a Russian born doctor have actually preserved some caring towards her patients. From the very minute I met her I quickly understood, this doctor is to the point no fluff and stuff. Which is ok with me as long as I am taken care of. She went onto maternity leave, and I patiently made appointments with another doctor, waiting for an appointment for weeks, but still, loyalty matters (I know, i need to get over this stuff). Anyway, to make long story unbearable, I just recently saw her again. And this is definitely my last time; I felt I was interrogated at super fast time, cut off on multiple occasions when I tried to explain the meds I took that made me sick. She sent me away to make some tests, with 0 advice on how to manage my condition in the interim. I made sure I got in to take an X-ray as soon as possible and called in today to see the results. The message from the doctor was: " the results are normal." Absolutely no information as to what I need to do to feel better, what I should or shouldn't do given the amount of discomfort I am experiencing. In short, 0 professionalism, 0 care, 0 time, 0 basic human empathy. I realize everyone has bad days, but I've waited for 3 years too long to figure out it's no bad day, just lack of care. In a nutshell: I would not recommend Tatyana to anyone, unless you speak Russian and need someone who can communicate with you, I see no reason to stick to her. There are plenty excellent doctors in the Bay area, go take your business, health care, and time elsewhere. read more

She is either hit it or miss it. I "clicked " with her from the very first visit. She is very knowlegable . if you want someone to help you -she is your doctor. But If you need some doctor who will hold your hand,listen to you mumbling about your horrible condition for hours -she is not the one. read more

Before expressing my disappointment, I will say that I work in healthcare and treat patient's with health concerns and physical pain all day long. I work with people and I enjoy it. So I guess what I'm saying is that I'm a pretty hard customer to please. Nevertheless... One star obviously means I will not be returning to this physician unless I need something from her...like a referral. Her bedside manner is stoic, cold, and very serious. Not what you want in a physician's office. Issue #1: I told her I have an IUD (intrauterine device)... - She proceeds to tell me that IUDs cause "lots of little abortions every time you have sex" -----WTF!! First of all, no it doesn't. It prevents implantation of an egg in the uterine wall....for it to be an abortion, there has to be implantation of an egg in the uterine wall. So, dear doctor, before you use politically charged words, like abortion, to describe something that isn't actually happening....check yourself. Second of all, I voluntarily choose not to live anywhere near the "Bible belt" for a number of reasons, the first of which is that I prefer to make my own choices regarding reproduction and birth control and I don't believe anyone, first an foremost a doctor, has the right to impart their political views on choices I make regarding my body. Facts and professional opinions only. Thank you! Issue #2: She tells me she does not like IUDs, I should use birth control pills and that there are no confirmed long term effects of using birth control pills. ----Thank you doctor but you've only known me for approximately 5 minutes. I know there are quite a few choices for birth control options out there, so why don't you try asking me why I chose an IUD over several other options for birth control before telling me what YOU don't like and what I should use instead. This appointment isn't about YOU. Issue #3: She proceeds to tell me that I'm overweight. Her words (as I look at her in state of mild shock), "you look like you have a little extra weight on you." ----WTF #2: No I'm NOT! (As I visually compare my body to hers and realize that we're the same height/size, the only difference being that I could probably drop kick her into next week without breaking a sweat). First of all, I have no denial issues when it comes to my body. Like many individuals, I'm my own worst critic. Secondly, I'm an athlete (soccer for 10 yrs, tennis, gymnastics, track/cross-country...exercise 7 days a week). BMI indexes are not friendly to athletes and had she bothered to use her eyes she would have probably done a mental calculation of, "oh, not overweight...has lots of muscle." I feel bad for any other women she has told that too because it probably wasn't true half the time and her delivery of that kind of statement leaves a lot to be desired. Those were my major issues. The appt was comprised of the nursing assistant checking my blood pressure and temperature, and the doctor listening to my lungs. I have a pretty low co-pay, so whatever, pay yourself for doing nothing. I don't care. I work with ICD9 & CPT codes too so if she bills for procedures not performed, I'll know about it. I was a patient of Dr. Borodulin for 15 years, before I moved to Arizona. I found her to be an excellent doctor. I was very pleased with the care I got from her. She is very forthright and competent. She will tell you exactly what she has found and explain the effects, treatments, etc. with you. She will refer you to a specialist if needed (or you ask). I can see how she might not be everyone's cup of tea. If you go to a doctor looking for a lot of empathy or hand-holding, she might not be for you. She might be too "direct" for you. For me, however, she was the perfect type of doctor. I got great information from her and I always left feeling that I understood the issues and the next steps needed. She is also very focused on "whole patient care". Once or twice when I went in with a medical issue, she also questioned me about related things (such as depression due to the severity of my condition). Her annual exams are very thorough and her continuity of care is excellent. (She got my carbohydrates and triglycerides under control after trying several different treatments. My last exam showed both of these in the "normal" range.) She's very familiar with the latest developments in the medical field. As new recommendations occur in the medical field, she incorporates them into her care. I have no qualms about recommending her to people who want forthright, very competent medical care. read more
