Nothing scarier than having your air conditioning fail in summer. Called a Active air first thing in the morning and Jeremy was able to come out that afternoon. These people came from my American Home Shield warranty. Which I have since cancelled. Thanks to the greedy folks at Active Air and Heating. They were the third contractor who finally approved the job, but then found all kinds of "non-covered" charges, which were never itemized or written. The total was some amount of $1400. Wow I can get a whole new unit and probably get it installed for that price. There should be zero modifications needed and non were explained. The old unit comes out the new unit goes in simple install. I do not appreciate being ripped off in such a manner. Shame on You!!! read more

This company came from my American Home Shield. They charged me $375 to replace capacitor and wires and then later in the day, the AC stops working completely. Then they schedule to come back a week later. 3 hours in to their 4 hours appt window they text me saying they are cancelling the appt. I've been calling them nonstop and no one even picks up the phone. Just... wow. Update: Technician came back Thursday and said the problem was actually the blower motor so he would have to come back another day to repair after he get the part. We scheduled for Tuesday, that was postponed because he could not get the part in time. So we rescheduled again to Thursday which is today. He came and then realized that the motor was the wrong part, so he would have to go pick up another one tomorrow and come back Sat. To be honest, he is trying pretty hard so I will increase the ratings after the issue is fixed. But I do think the company is pretty unreliable and seems to be overbooked routinely and as a result, the technicians are forced to cancel and reschedule appts. So I don't blame the technicians. Update: Victor was finally able to repair the issue. Office is just very unprofessional but Victor did put a lot of effort so I have adjusted the ratings. read more

Henry is your man. He is honest, fair, on time, and gives great HVAC. He worked on our Air conditioner whose fan motor died in June , repaired it the same day at a very fair price. So when our Heater stopped blowing Hot air on the first night of 40 degree Valley temps the other night, we knew Henry could help. Found the problem wiring issues, and fixed it early the next morning. Price was much, much less than a previous estimate. He's a really nice, down to earth guy, that is very trustworthy, and seems to love what he does, and does it well. read more

LOUSY! RUDE! I make an appointment with them over a week in advance. They only have certain days where they come into my area. I take the day off from work to accomodate their wide window of when someone might actually show u[. Then they call at the last minute to cancel my appointment and want to reschedule for the next day. How many people can just tell their boss they need another day off to wait for a contractor? I cannot just do this at the last minute. And why should I have to take another day off without pay for them??? I don't care about their prior calls for the day. They need to get someone else out here, but NO. Will NEVER use these people! Only reason they were contacted was because of the home warranty. CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM!!! Excellent customer service, especially for our service call. It's been in the triple digits the last couple days and our AC decided to break down. Of course the unit decided to do this during the first intense heatwave! It's 100° and it's 4 PM right now. Inside our house, it's 94°! Our tech was awesome and reasonably priced for the emergency service call and diagnosis. He was able to tell us the issue and give us an estimate however since we're in a rental and the issue is larger than we thought with no quick fixes, we're forced to wait and deal with the intense heat until we hear an answer! Yikes! Caring for your pets is miserable in this heat! Definitely the right company to call when you're in a terrible situation. I am requesting a refund for services that was not rendered. Active Air Heating and Cooling was a referral from American HomeSheild. When the technician came to my residence initially on 08/22/20 the technician asked me what was the problem and I told him the unit was only blowing warm air and it was not cooling. He went on the roof where the a/c unit is located to examine the unit and claimed it needed refrigerant and cleaning. He quoted me a price of $500.00, I asked him will it be any more than that amount he quoted and he said no. Although, I was little apprehensive I said yes to have the services done. They scheduled the repairs for 08/29/20. After the repairs that was done the problem still persisted so I contacted the technician and he was a little reluctant to come back out again but he did and still could not fixed the problem right away. Instead he blamed it on thermostat was not operable. So, his exact words were he would be out Saturday, September 6, 2020 sometime that morning. Around noon on that day he was to come to my home, I decided to contact the technician and the company, the technician Victor texted me back with a bunch of excuse and for as the company no response, meanwhile I am sitting in 115 degrees heat in my home. I had no money to go to a hotel to get some sort of comfort I had to endure the grueling. I did call the company again on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 after the holiday weekend and requested they refund me my money and still tell this day I have not received a response. I finally had to hire a another company to fix my problem which cost me $782.23. This was the second of three companies and technicians that came out for the same problem through American HomeShield and could not fixed the problem. My AC unit had a leak and as a result I couldn't use it until that was resolved. My brother who is also an AC guy couldn't come out for several days and I didn't want to wait since it was going to be another really hot week. Yelp has always been really great for referrals so when I saw that this business had great reviews, I gave them a call I was able to set up a next day morning appt. Because of the heat wave and all the calls he was getting he said that he charged a $95 fee just to come out and assess the problem and that would be waived once the work was performed. Because of all the great Yelp reviews I went ahead and set up the appt. After digging around my unit for an hour, he did not fix anything. Not only that, he completely misdiagnosed the issue. The part that really bugged me was that I asked him, based on his assessment, what options I had for repair. He told me that he would call me back in a day or two and let me know my options. He never called me back and that is completely unacceptable. My brother was finally able to make it out, took a look at the unit and was able to correctly diagnose a problem that he can't believe these guys couldn't figure out because it was literally right in front of their eyes. He called and apologized for not being able to call back earlier. He had taken medication that was not agreeing with his stomach. This was the second AC company assigned to me through my home warranty. I took off work and waited for my noon - 2 window. Nothing. Was told they'd arrive by 4pm. At 7:45p I called and they were still on another job. I took off work and wasted the entire day waiting, with no courtesy call saying they had been held up. As in my other review, I understand that the home warranty calls don't generate a lot of income for the companies that service them, but in my case, I wanted to buy an entire AC unit for my house (in addition to having the AC fixed in my game room.) Henry is awesome. We had just moved and for the life of us couldn't get our new super high tech wifi thermostat to work. After spending almost 10 hours on websites, watching youtube videos, and fruitlessly calling the 800 "help" line - with no heat the whole time i might add, we gave up on the thing and called Henry to replace it with something more user friendly. He came over same-day, installed a new, very easy to use thermostat, and gave our furnace a thorough check as well. He is not only really good at his job, he's smart, patient and kind. When our A/C went kaput, I found Active on Yelp and gave them a call. Henry answered the phone himself and swung by our place in a couple of hours. After finding one problem with the unit in the attic, he not only fixed it, but explained it to me thoroughly. I really appreciated him taking the time to walk me through it, as I am the kind of person who "needs to know". So great service there. But what happened next is where he really went above and beyond. Later that evening we returned home to discover that the A/C was not running again. Bummer. We tried to address the problem as Henry had instructed, but no dice. So the next morning (a Saturday no less) I gave him a ring to see if he could return. He showed up within a couple of hours and went back right back to work. After some examination and digging around in the very hot attic, he discovered the real problem: a burned out wire to the power supply. While he fixed it, I braced myself for the inevitable up charge. But when I asked him how much I owed him he said, "I'm not charging you for this visit". I pushed a bit, but he wouldn't have it. On top of it all, he's an exceptionally friendly and nice dude. So that's why my review of Active is five stars. He knows his stuff and knows how to deliver excellent service on top of it. I'm not sure how Henry has so many 5 star reviews. Recently our air conditioning failed on the day it was 117 degrees in the valley. Needless to say, it was hard to get anyone out to do repairs. I couldn't get my regular and trusted A/C company because they were booked solid. Henry had so many good reviews so I called. He works on his own schedule mostly alone so you have no control over when he comes. You are at the mercy of his schedule until the work is done. Not very customer friendly. He tells you he MAY come back later in the day then never comes or calls. He replaced the air and got it running after about a week, but told me I needed better insulation, a secondary drainage line and repairs on the first drainage line. But he said don't call me for at least a week. One week later the air stopped working. He came back and replaced the blower and charged me $50. Shouldn't he have checked the blower before? I then called the following week to schedule the remainder of the work and HE NEVER CALLED ME BACK. I have since had my trusted company come and inspect his work. They said he did a half ass job, did not tell me that things were not up to code, and that he overcharged me for mediocre equipment. He left the job incomplete. DON'T CALL HENRY. read more

I won't guarantee timeliness for him since it's his schedule and subject to who knows what, but our home didn't even get a chance to start baking us due to his quick response and action, and all before what most consider normal business hours. Henry was amazing! Our A/C went out and we have small animals that need to be temperature controlled, so my husband and I were freaking out. New Years Eve our Heater went out! I called several companies that were reviewed by Yelpers and Henry was the only one who answered his phone. He was too booked to help me then so we suffered for three days but since he was so nice on the phone and the fact that he answered his phone we arranged to have him come look at it on the fourth day and he came out and found the problem, a burned out motor, took it out and got back at the end of the day and the heat was on at 7 pm! He's an honest guy and he won't say something he isn't sure of. He asks for a pretty high fee to check out the problem but subtracts it from the bill if you use him for the work. They came back the next day and discovered that the AC worked fine and the only problem was that I blew a fuse. I should have checked.
