While in the Kindergarten program, our son was asked to be a leader in the classroom and take on more responsibilities. When they started attending public school, each of my children was ahead academically. One of our boys can be a bit rigid and challenging, and his teacher Ms. Jennie worked with him so well that he soared academically and behaviorally. However, after touring CCY, meeting both the director and assistant director, and interacting with the teachers, I am so happy we made the switch. My child has learned so much, loves his teachers and his days in care, and while it was a rough transition (due to his age, not the facility), everyone at CCY helped us both through the process. Having issues arise at our last place wasn't ideal, but I almost see that as a silver lining, as it lead us to Children's Courtyard. Also, while it isn't a requirement for good care, the app they have is so great! You get lots of updates, its easy to communicate with staff, and you're able to change your info and make payments yourself through the app or website. It's been SO NICE to be able to do that myself, instead of having to call in somewhere. Very user friendly, and customer focused.

But because I work in Aurora and Kids Kampus is located in Naperville, I would be driving an hour in the mornings just to get from Romeoville to Naperville to drop off my son and from Napperville to Aurora to go to work. This would be in the mornings and in the evenings after work. Because of this, I made the decision of looking for daycares in Romeoville. I informed the staff verbally of my home purchase and that I would be looking for a daycare possibly in Romeoville to help my commute. Unfortunately, I could not find any daycares in Romeoville. The ones that I did find were home daycares. So I decided that it would be best to just do the commute and keep my son Daniel at Kids Kampus since he's been there for a few years now and has all his friends in this daycare. But when I spoke with Denis to inform her that I would no longer be moving Daniel to another daycare. I was told by Denis that Daniel would no longer be allowed to return and that his last day at Kids Kampus would be on March 31st, as I had "requested." To be clear, I never made this request in writing or verbally. I did inform Kids Kampus that I purchased a house and that I would be looking into finding a daycare closer to home and if I did find one, Daniel would no longer be attending Kids Kampus. Denis previously states that there might not be any room for Daniel in the summer because they have reached their capacity and the classes are full for the summer. So why did Denise deny entrance to my son now? It's not like we were always late or never paid our tuition. We always paid on time. It would be interesting to see what excuse she gives to validate herself for being so spiteful in denying my son entrance. After my conversation with Denise, I decided to accept her rejection towards my son. At the end of the day, I wouldn't want my son to attend a daycare where he is not wanted and the owner/Denise is spiteful and has an ugly reaction towards any parents situation. It's sad that she made the decision to take it against my son by denying him entrance at the daycare. I don't believe we did anything wrong, especially my son Daniel. But it's also good to see the kind of spiteful person Denise is. Fortunately for my son, my coworker informed me of a daycare her daughter attends. I will be working on getting the transfer to daycare process quickly so that my son can make new friends and hopefully this new daycare does not have a spiteful owner that take vengeance on the innocent children over a parents situation. What I would advise all parents that have kids who currently attend Kids Kampus or plan on having their children attend Kids Kampus is, be careful of sharing your situation with Denise. She is very spiteful and will take it out on your child by denying them entrance.

Ms Bianca welcomed our family in and has been so easy to work with always available and quick to respond to any questions. Her communication with families has been exceptional. The director and staff at COA in Oswego are so unprofessional on many levels. I am going to start by saying my son (who happens to have mild Autism) was hired as a Teaching Assistant. This was told to them on his resume, as well as discussed at the interview. He was hired at COA about 6 months ago. Since being hired, he has been picked on, made to do work that other TA's are not made to do ( ex. clean all floors and toys in all classrooms). Written up for incidents that were embellished by other staff as a means to get him in trouble. Treated with disrespect and now after today called a racist because of a mis-pronunciation of a last name. His own family is comprised of 4 different races. He doesn't have a mean or racist bone in his body. My son, even through all of this, has continued to show up and work every day. He has taken the 10:30 am lunch even when he got to work at 9 am and others have been working since 6 am. He never complained about this unfair treatment due to feeling like he could lose his job all the time. It was evident in his anxiety that he felt left out and not supported at all. He recently had his hours cut, supposedly due to lack of enrollment. Although the center hired 4 new staff since he was hired and he was the staff with hours cut to 15 hours a week. They have treated him like he wouldn't know better and continuously pick on him. They expected him to be alone in a classroom, and because he spoke up and said he wasn't comfortable with this, his hours were cut. What a sad and unfortunate work experience for a young man who just felt he would like to work with young children. As he comes from a family who fostered other children throughout his life. He has had experience working and caring for kids quite a bit, just not in the daycare setting. As his Mom, I really felt this would be a great opportunity for him. How sad of COA to treat someone who is "different " with such disrespect that he no longer wants to work in an environment like that. I doubt you would want your children attending a place that treats their employees this way either. I know I wouldn't. If I thought my son could have written this himself, I would have him do so. His disabilities don't define him. His heart does. We will move on from here, but not without speaking our TRUTH.

No accident/injury/illness/issue goes without advanced notice to the parent directly and a written report for home and school files. Lots of opportunities and events to engage parents and extended family. And the curriculum in each classroom has proven to help my child succeed in all of the developmental stages and socializing with others. I always know my child is in incredible, loving, nurturing hands at Children of America!
