This past July, had some pretty intense lower back pain. Walking was difficult, couldn't bend over,…read moreavoided any sudden movement. Visited a local chiropractor twice, and had philosophical issues with his care. Saw a different chiropractor 13 times in August and September, with no noticeable improvement. Then found the LNP ad for a back pain and sciatica workshop at Hershey Rehab on September 12. I had an evaluation visit and 3 rehab visits, and was cured of the pain. I am so grateful and thankful for the skill set Paul and Kyle applied to fix me up. Highly recommended. The pain, the limitations, the distress is but a memory. A sincere thank you and a five star recommendation is hardly enough. I have my life back. Mega kudos.

The best news I received was hearing Paul, after initial examination, say "we can help you". The next best news was saying, "you have graduated". I feel great, have issues that require self control on my part but I know I can do this! They took me from a pain level of 8 down to 1. It was hard at times but with their support and guidance, it was accomplished. During the pandemic, I have felt very safe and secure during my treatment, as they take all measures to ensure comfort and safety for the patient. Thanks, Paul and Kyle, I am forever grateful for all your help!

Really, 4 and 1/2 stars out of 5!…read more In June, I spent a month at The Ranch of Pa. It is a residential treatment center run by Promises Behavioral Health. The location is beautiful and there are beautiful sunrises, sunsets and adorable deer to admire daily. Prior to being admitted, I was at a hospital in PA. I was not given much information about the program. There was a beautiful Cardinal that was perched in a tree when I arrived at the gate in a taxi. That helped me realize I was in the right place at the right time. Thank you. Much more to come.... There are so Many well-planned and thorough experiential activities. There's a ropes course, and very cool team building activities in the "barn". There is yoga once a week, somatic healing, trauma therapy, and an incredibly helpful Dialectal behavioral Therapy (DBT) four-week course/therapy processing etc. Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) is also utilized. Additionally, some very cool drama therapy sessions are sprinkled throughout the schedule. The food is good and the culinary team is very friendly (and talented). Provisions are made for vegetarians and those with food intolerances, etc. The staff and leadership team are stellar. The nurses are excellent and they genuinely care. I really found the psychiatric nurse practitioner (Nicole) to be extremely helpful and extremely knowledgeable about medications. If you are interested, a non-denominational Sunday service is streamed and available for viewing. (The website for the ranch is extremely informative.) While I was at The Ranch, I was experiencing night terrors most nights. The nursing team and the behavioral health techs (BHTs) really demonstrated empathy and concern. Once a week, a staff member makes a nicotine/postsge/Target run. They have lists you can fill out and as long as you have a credit card on file, you're good to shop. Amazon orders may be sent by family, etc. If you need to place an amazon order yourself, you can request that your assigned therapist assist you. Cell phones aren't available - there are phones in each cabin. Every day, you may sign up for "phone time." You may keep snacks in a closet within your cabin. Everything must be nut-free. If you are wanting to have a watch with you, make sure it doesn't have camera access. Regular watches and kids basic digital watches work.

i would have stayed much longer than 15 days if i would have had a therapist that cared. She did…read moreabsolutely nothing but criticize and act rude

The nurses were so nice and very friendly. I also thought the same of the doctors there too. So when my husband said he was going there I told him that it's great there. My husband is there for a totally different illness. We almost lost him due to a C.O.P.D. Exasperation. He was in ICU for 2 weeks and thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses at the Reading Hospital he is here with us. So I know they will do what is good for him and send him home to us good as new.

It wasn't recognized by the ambulance crew or the ER. Only the CT scan revealed the extent of my atypical stroke. The doctors pumped 3% saline directly to the site of the infarction for 10 days. Not .3%... 3%. The marvelous Rehab therapists are the best; the acute care doctor that treated me is pretty great too. Therapists have a continuous stream of pitiful stroke patients... but manage to make every patient feel like they are the first stroke patient that they have ever treated. Thousands of people have been in Rehab before me, many with more knowledge about the methods and value of therapy than I will ever have... but the therapists never let on. God bless them. Without their persistent encouragement I wouldn't be typing this, walking to the kitchen for a drink of water and sitting in the bath tub like a Christian to take a bath. Without the antiedema therapy I'd have a hole in the back of my head or I'd be gone.
