Setting up the appointment was a breeze, and Dr. Goodman and his wife, Elaine, proved to be as friendly and laid-back in person. Likewise, the treatment itself was outstanding, without any unnecessary bureaucracy or other red tape (and, for what it's worth: the Upper Cervical chiropractic adjustment was very effective for me personally, and evident almost immediately afterward). Even the office had its charms, being clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated, as to create a warm, soulful environment. The kicker? When I went back for a follow-up exam, and I proved not to need a second adjustment at the time, I wasn't charged a dime. Doctor Sam is gentle but thorough in his chiropractic adjustments. In diagnosing issues in your bones and muscles, Doctor Sam is a talented detective. I am very grateful that Doctor Sam helps me stay healthy and functional so I dont have pain or headaches. Dr. Barry offers both manual manipulation, as well as more technical stuff, using different machines, etc. and typically has a masseuse in the office to do therapeutic massage - just be sure to call ahead to schedule a massage. I tend to prefer manual manipulation, and I have not tried the alternatives at his practice. One thing that really stood out to me relative to other practitioners was that he measured my physiology (i.e. the geometry of my arms, legs, neck, head, jaw etc.) at the first visit. We discussed my lifestyle and WHY I am out of alignment in specific areas. This empowered me to address areas outside of visits where my lifestyle was causing me to alter the geometry of my body, and in response I focused on changing my posture which was putting undue strain on muscles, bones, and joints. I like that he offers manual manipulation, which I call "the old school way" it gets the satisfying crack and gives me the instant gratification of feeling a big difference between before and after. Now I stand straighter, keep my shoulders back, and have arranged my desk to keep myself from hunching over a computer screen.
