Disappointing. Two different visits referred by Asante ER doc. I asked to review the xrays and James Holdermann, DPM said that they did not do that. That's standard practice to show the patient the xrays. I was accused of having osteoporosis hence the reason the foot bone broke. There's no indication of osteoporosis nor testing. I was unhappy by the statement that "age" determines procedures when I am a highly active and physically competitive athlete. There was more but that's enough. read more

I went to this recommended podiatrist because of serious pain caused by pronating flat feet. After paying about $1000 in total, my pain wasn't cured and I ended up buying $50 shoe inserts which have been the perfect solution to my flat feet foot pain. HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED: The doctor X-rayed my feet and had orthotics custom made (for more than $300) that should have helped. After initially wearing them, I told the doctor that they did not take the foot pain away. He told me to come back - and they charged for each visit - and ended up re-making one of the orthotics. After a few days there were still no improvements (I have had experience with orthotics before and they usually work within a couple of days). When I contacted them to let them know they weren't working, he said there's nothing I can do and you can't return them because they were custom made. No change in my condition almost $1000.00 later, and the office would not consider reducing the bill even though the custom orthotics did not help at all. My lesson learned: Try buying different shoe inserts before going to a podiatrist unless you have amazing insurance. read more

I had two appointments with them and both times I had to wait one hour from the time of my appointment. On my first visit with Dr. Goforth we ordered custom foot orthotics, as he said they would take 3 weeks. O.k., so I paid upfront as office procedure, and expected them in 3 weeks. I dropped by five days before my appointment of the 3 week due date to check on them, but the office staff (lady in the back) office was very rude to me. She kept trying to push me out of the way and not want to answer my questions pointing to the lady over to the side of us who was being helped already by another staff member, saying she needs to be seen. She was being seen by the other staff member already, but kept acting very snippy and rude to me, as if I didn't matter at all. (mind you I was a new patient) Well, I said, I am a patient too, and deserve some respect too. I couldn't believe the unfriendly attitude there, it came so natural to her, as if they are so use to it she didn't realize how abnormal it really was. It hurt me. Meanwhile, they cancelled my original 3 week appt. date and instead scheduled someone else trying to tell me that they didn't schedule me at all. (Lied). I know because we did it all together after my first appt. with the doctor and told them to schedule three weeks. I even wrote it on my calendar when I got home. How irresponsible of them and careless. When I arrived for my second appointment, after waiting 20 minutes the assistant took me in a room to wait another 45 minutes and told me that my inserts won't be there until 6 weeks. I said, my doctor said 3 weeks, and that is what I agreed to. She just shook her head and said, no, 4-6 weeks, and said it with an attitude. The doctor finally comes in and was not even prepared to go over my MRI. He had no file on me in his hands to refer to and came in empty handed. Thank goodness I came prepared and had my own copy of my MRI report in my hands. He even asked me now which foot is it we are looking at and seemed totally unprepared. As he grabbed for my copy I said you should get your copy as I am needing to follow with my own copy. (there was a lot of writing about the outcome) It was unprofessional, and in a hurry is what this place was about. After you are seen once you are old hat to them, and the next new patient is all that matters to them) I cancelled my order for orthotics and got my refund back and never to return again. I found a few of their staff members there rude and inconsiderate, not even "friendly" at treating their patients (customers) with warm regard or with respect. Had a bad taste in my mouth after the first visit and even worse the second. Bad customer service there as if you don't even matter. Patients have rights too, and I choose not to support this kind of businesses at all. read more

The only good experience I had here was with the front desk. Let me start by saying I am not a dirty person. I have a few tattoos. Im a bit overweight but I just had a baby. I had x-rays done on my ankles at Providence and they referred me to Dr. Goforth. I also have AllCare OHP because I am currently a stay at home mother of a two year old. My partner works fulltime. We are not mooching off the government. I used to be a medical assistant for a PODIATRY DOCTOR. When I saw my x-rays I immediately saw that I had bone spurs and probably Haglund's syndrom. Mind you, I am not a DOCTOR. With that said.... They took me to the room. The blond MA barely spoke. He seemed nervous. He put gloves on to take my BP. He threw a paper under my feet like I had the plague. Then Dr. Goforth came in in a hurry with his assistant, Levi. He wiggled the bumps on the back of my feet and said "you have tendinitis." I was perplexed. "Did you look at my x-ray?" He says, "ah, ah, no I haven't looked at them yet." Dumbfounded I said "well you would notice I have two spurs on the top of each heel...." He says, "Everyone has heel spurs and most people learn how to live with them." I was so traumatized at this point I gracefully declined the $60 ORTHOTICS (oldest podiatry trick in the book) and left the office. I went to the physical therapist and she confirmed Haglund's Syndrom. I have to go to a REAL PODIATRIST now. So, Dr. Goforth, if you are reading this, you should be more concerned about the patient than the money, because karma is going to get you eventually. Nameste. (They also didn't send over my RX until I called 3 times asking about it. Failed to mention it would go to a Portland apothacary as opposed to my pharmacist. This place is a joke.) EDIT: Dr Goforth responded to my review and I give them an extra star for doing that. It seems that there were a few things that were out of alignment that day and our understanding of eachother is a little more clear and understood. His response was sincere and heartfelt and he acknowledged that I was unhappy about my service and suggested ways that he can improve on that for the future. So I went to this location to get my foot checked out. From the one review on here I was going to cancel and I'm glad I didn't. Everyone was friendly and made me feel comfortable. Let's be real, feet is embarrassing especially when is all messed up. I went in to find out what the bump on my foot was cause I was having pain while doing any activity that had me on my feet. They weren't able to tell me about my bump do that sucked but they did tell me where the pain was coming from and gave me treatment for that. read more

Dr. Holdermann saved my foot after another surgeon did surgery, and I almost could not walk. Dr. Holdermann and his amazing staff Levi and all of them, took care of me like I was family. From start to finish, they understood my pain, did the proper analysis to properly diagnosis my problems, and then set a restorative plan in motion. I had surgery in February 2015, and I was hiking Diamond Head in Hawaii the first week of May 2015. Now, I'm running 10 miles races, and this is all because of Dr. Holdermann and his amazing staff! I have been in the medical field all my life. The negative reviews on this site regarding other than the Dr.s Holdermann I cannot speak to. However: I am a past professional medical/surgical assistant and can attest to this: Dr James Holdermann is an amazing podiatrist with more knowledge than many in his field, particularly in the Rogue Valley. He is up front, thorough, explanatory in layman's terms, compassionate, personable, and on top of things regarding his patients health, med/ surgical needs and post care. Besides having a medical background I have a degree in both Psychology and Criminology and after reading the negative reviews folks posted on this site I'd have to perhaps suggest they reassess their medication levels. This is a horrible practice, rudest staff and less caring doctors I have ever seen in 58 years of my life. I saw Dr. Heather Holdermann 11/19/2015. I waited about an hour and 10 min before I was called back for x-rays. Then I sat in an exam room for about 45 minutes. Appt around 9:15 so should not have gotten backed up that early in the day). When she finally came in I said I did not appreciate waiting so long. This did not please her and she said things happen. She spent about 15 minutes and said I needed major reconstruction surgery on both feet 1 at a time). All she said was that I could not get the feet wet for 2 weeks after surgery and that I would be wearing a non-weight bearing boot for 3 months. I asked how I could work with foot elevated for 3 months and she replied "people do it" without telling me about any equipment that would keep foot of ground for 3 months. I had even told her that I drive 80% of time as a case manager and she said maybe they can move you to a desk job. She said nothing about all post surgery requirements, like I could not drive for the 3 months I was wearing the boot. Nurse aide in room said would want to cover it as even had to wear it to bed. Doc said think about it and call her nurse aide to schedule surgery in an outpatient surgery facility if I decided I wanted to schedule surgery, That was it. By what she said about only not getting surgery foot wet, I thought I would be able to keep my job after. I researched for hours and hours on the internet to see what you would need to use to not let your foot touch the ground for 3 months, looking to see what was available via the internet to see how I could manage to keep my job. Based on what she said, I figured I would probably be off 2 weeks from work as she said nothing else about post surgery. I fount scooters for this, elongated shower bench, toilet bars, special non weight bearing crutches, ramp to get down steps with crutches or scooter and even spent $750.00 to have my gas pedal switched to the LEFT side to practice driving this way prior to surgery! I called about a week later after researching all of this and said wanted to schedule surgery. I was told after pre-auth, Dr. Holdermann could probably get me in by the first of the year , 2016. I bought all of the equipment by December 31st to the tune of abut $1600.00 as insurance would not cover it. By 1st of year I called and waited again for aide to finally call me back i called nurse aide who said she was still looking for a surgery center open for a 3 hour surgery. Thought they could get me in by 2/3/2016. I had not heard a word and kept calling with no word. About one week (unbelievable to wait this long to figure this out!!!) prior to 2/3/16, aide finally called and said Dr. Heather Holdermann had her husband (also in the same practice) look at x-rays and they determined my surgery would now require 5 hours of surgery that would have to be in a hospital and both doctors performing surgery. Called about every week or 10 days , always waited days for aide to call me back saying still could not find hospital with a five hour slot, and working now around schedules of 2 surgeons for a surgery room. I also asked aide how long it would need to be between right surgery to left foot surgery and she said about a week. Having been in medical, I knew this could not be possible as right leg/foot would need to build up a lot of strength after not using for 3 months. By April I had enough and went to see Dr. McClure with a copy of her notes and x-rays, He said she had switched to a 5 hr. surgery as planned to build an arch in my foot (other foot also), which nobody in office had told me. He also said would need to be 5-6 months between surgeries to build back strength in right foot, as I had thought. He also said he would not authorize and said I would not be able to drive for entire 3 months while wearing boot for each separate surgery. I was born with flat feet, he said this surgery if not effective at all and instead would put in 3 inch metal plate where arch should be to support feet, and metal pins in deformed toes, remove bunion. He said after I asked for surgery, he could get me in for surgery in 1 month, and very importantly, said I would have to be bed ridden with foot elevated for 6 weeks! Dr. James Holderman saved my life after getting two infected feet with ten infected toes five years ago. He has been my podiatrist treating my diabetic feet for more than ten years. Best foot center in Oregon, and I have been to a few. He also runs circles around the podiatrists I had seen in Southern California. I have been seen by both Dr Heather Holdermann and Dr Goforth, and my son is a patient of Dr James Holdermann. We have both had a great experience with each visit. They are all very thorough and made me feel comfortable, listening to my concerns, and getting to the root of the problem. My son is 9 and has anxiety when it comes to going to any doctor, but Dr Holdermann was very friendly and put him at ease by asking him the questions, involving him in his own care, which he really liked and I appreciated. Their staff is very friendly and the office environment is very warm and inviting. We never realize how important our feet are until they begin to hurt, and limit our ability to do the things we never used to think twice about. When that happens these are definitely the Doctors you want taking care of your foot and ankle problems. read more

After seeing Dr. Goforth and having X-Rays done on both feet, we decide that surgery was my best option to repair the damage. I scheduled a surgery date then a pre-op date. Upon the arrival of pre-op, I'm told I have to give them a large amount of money because my deductible wasn't met. This is ONE WEEK before surgery! Office policy is: insurance deductible MUST be met or pay the difference (down payment)! They don't tell you this up front, when it's most important. If I would've known ahead of time, I wouldn't have scheduled anything. This policy is ridiculous! The deductible renews every calendar year and I never incur enough medical expenses to meet it. SURGERY would meet the deductible! I have never encountered an office policy of this nature. Thanks to that, my feet will now become more and more deformed, I can't wear shoes, I'm in pain all the time and I won't ever be able to have surgery. The manager told me that all podiatrists have this policy. I'm screwed. Guess a person had to be rich in order to have pain-free, non-deformed feet. 1 star because I have to give a star rating. PS... After wiring this review, I called another clinic that can help, and does their billing the CORRECT way. read more

Regardless of the outcome, I found the office staff friendly and helpful. However, had I known more about the surgery and possible consequences, I probably would not have had it done. I feel Dr. Holderman did not express the dangers of outcomes nor did the staff properly treat what was happening in the healing process. I now have crossed toes following bunion surgery. I questioned the toe positioning during the healing process and was told they would revert to normal when all bandaging was removed. NOT SO. Consequently, all other toes are now drifting to the right. I am worse off than I was originally. read more
