Years ago we met Dr. John Vann after experiencing some poor relationships with other pediatricians. By "poor relationships" I mean that there really were no relationships, as we were just another number, another appointment, another shot-and-a-sticker. When we met Dr. Vann (or Dr. Silly Socks, as my kids call him) we realized having a relationship with our pediatrician really was possible. He has given his availability generously, his genuine compassion for our children authentically, and even on occasion graciously offered us parenting tips out of how wealth of experience. We trust him to speak into our lives. We look forward to many years of welcoming him and his staff to be part of our extended family.

But they did say "you should have her looked at somewhere with her fever that high". For someone that claims they care about children, they sure did not show it! Great listener doesn't shoot down my ideas or tell me that there's a better course of treatment. Instead she gives me all my options including pros and cons and lets me decide from there. Every now and then I'll be concerned my insurance won't cover something - a sub-dermal birth control for example. Her staff called my insurance company before the procedure and made sure I was fully covered or else inquired on prices and such. Recently I had a med check for my ADHD medication - should have taken a few seconds to chat then she would re RX my meds and I'd be on my way. Unluckily//Luckily I found a suspicious mole two days before my appointment but she checked it out on the spot in their surgical procedure room. Suspicious mole was numbed, removed, and sent to the lab for biopsy. WOOT WOOT!! The entire office is great! Love their facilities and staff!!

What I found was a very caring and informed health care provider and partner in caring for my well being. She listened, wasn't rushed and explained everything. For about 5 minutes time they charged another $276.00 in addition. Their new policy is to charge an additional visit for anything outside the wellness exam. Beware of what you talk to your doctor about at the Methodist clinics. I am not a happy patient.

Suspect they're not the only clinic with this approach. I called to set up an appt and was informed of the above albeit a tad abruptly. Can't blame them given they wanted to get back to the customers that mattered and not waste time on someone who will not be adding to their bottom line. I would advise they could save both prospective clients and their staff time - if they posted on the web site who they will, and won't do business with where it can be seen.
